Several have commented that this is a great tutorial for SS. I wasn't trying to make a tutorial though lol. Just showing you guys how I personally use SS. Glad you liked it.
I've watched all the Soundswitch tutorials on UA-cam over the last 3 year's and yours is by far the best. Clear simple easy instruction that's easy to follow. Thanks
Thank you for your flashing lights. Thank you for your gentle camera movement. Thank you for your soft and clear voice. Thank you for an amazing beard. Thank you for showing us your rig. Thank you for for the smile. Thank you for helping others with Soundswitch in such a beautiful way! Thank you! ❤
THANKS YOU SO MUCH! you are the first DJ that took the time to show me just how to use sound switch. You put it in words and demonstrate how to use it the right way. I was just about to shut it down It was way to complicated for me. Like you. I'm a DJ! Not a light guy. I don't need all that other stuff. Just something that I can work. On the fly! And play my music. Thanks so much! DJ MIXER > MUSIC FOR Senyer! That is my specialty. Must for senyer!
Thanks Dan! This was a difficult video for me to make because SS is not an easy program to get into and I kept struggling with what information do I include in the video? I left a ton of info out because the video was getting too long, imo. Glad you appreciated it!
Thank you for putting this video on Soundswitch. I’m unboxing my control one tomorrow and I’m new to the lighting game. I’ll be watching your video multiple times so wish me luck.
Good luck for real. I was serious when I said Soundswitch is very difficult to learn at first. However, with a ton of patience and persistence, you can eventually get it to work and then it becomes super easy to use. My fingers are crossed for ya!
Great Video, thanks for making this, been using control one a while but still learned loads from this video, you have a great way of explaining things! Best soundswitch tutorial by far 👌
Lol thanks! Oh man, so you think I should make more SS tutorial videos? I admit there was a bunch of info I didn't include in this video because it was getting too long.
Man you put out some amazing content, and very informative.. I’m totally new to Soundswitch. I’m using the Rockville Mini Par RF AND Rockville IR Wedge lights for up lights. I have a total of 8 minis 24 wedges but most of the time I use 10 wedges to do my Uplighting and the other 14 wedges for my show, plus I have a total of 6 moving heads that I have to ad to sound switch!! Thank you for sharing such great Videos!!
Hmmm another thought is don't add your 10 wedges to SS. Just use your remote control for them since they are just gonna stay static on one color. Or you could study that grid in SS and learn how to program them to stay static while the other lights go crazy lol.
Can’t wait to dive into this after my gig tonight. I’ve had a lot of trouble figuring it out. I haven’t used my gig bar or Chauvet movers because of the difficulties
I don't actually call this a Soundswitch tutorial by any means. I'm just showing how I personally use it to control my lights. If it helps you in any way though, well that's a plus. Good luck!
Thank You 2Legit I Will Definitely Get Into Sound Switch Now I Might Have To Watch Your Video 20 Times But I Will Get It Eventually Lol Thank You So Much For These Videos It Helps A Lot.
I watched tons of tutorials on Soundswitch when I bought it last year. I kept it for 3months and gave up on it because it was not easy setting up. If this video would have been around then, Soundswitch would have me as a user today!
Aww I hear you. I gave up on SS so many times during my first 2 weeks of trying to figure it out. It was extremely difficult for me, but once I got it, then I really got it and it's been a piece of cake after that. Maybe you should give it one more try? Good luck!
Nice video! I agree that Soundswitch has some similarities to FL Studio. I think they need an entire interface redesign because I think that’s what is most challenging. If each “track” was labeled like a multi-track DAW instead of just floating on the grid, that would help people wrap their head around it better. That’s what makes FL studio so easy to use where most people don’t even need instructions.
Great great video as always thank you for sharing your knowledge and explaining things in such a clear way everyone can understand. Thank you my brother love from the UK 🇬🇧 🙏🏽👍🏽
You are honestly so good at explaining and breaking down the tutorial. I have seen many tutorials on you tube and my brain literally explodes trying to follow them. This was concise straight to the point. I feel like l have confidence to tackle sound switch now. I didn’t want to buy sound switch and then have to buy pre done programs from people at ridiculous prices. I’m not a lighting tech either, l am a dj. All l need is what you have shown here that’s perfect for me. But please do more sound switch tutorials though, as you are excellent at what you do. I have serato and Mac book pro 2019 16gb 2.3GHz Intel Core i9 1tb, l just wanted to ask. Is sound switch taxing on your computer? Is there any lagging at all using it with your VDJ etc? Thanks again
Thanks! Yeah during my first 2 weeks trying to just get SoundSwitch to communicate with VDJ and the lights, I watched a ton of videos and barely learned anything from them. Made my brain want to explode as well! Lol!
I've got pretty much the same setup as you, but I don't have a light show setup, I only have a blank venue - were you able to get Virtual DJ to show up in Sound Switch with a blank venue? Thanks man, you're the greatest -
Great video bro! Just like you i am not a light guy nor have the patience to do all that lol. I have the asdmx and I just made very simple chases for my events. I was looking into either SS or the Wmix still not sure but i might retire my asdmx.
Thanks bro! Hey if the asdmx is working for you, then good for you! You saw my advice in the video for ppl wanting to switch to SoundSwitch. You have 30 days to make a decision with no loss of $$$. Good luck!!
I need help when I turn on SS & Control One - one of my banks just blinks (white/blue/red) and one of the bank buttons blink but can’t get it to change
2legit, have you updated to 2.9 in soundswitch, What bpm are you using on soundswitch. Im wanting to excicute serato dj on soundswitch, but no detection. Need some advice. Thanx
No, I did not update to 2.9 because they admitted that it has a known issue connecting to VDJ without a wifi signal, so until they fix that, I will not be updating. SS syncs to VDJ so whatever bpm the song is that I am playing is the bpm that SS will use.
Another great color to add to static is antique white. You should be able to google the rgb code. I use it all the time for first dance or dinner, etc. It is less harsh than full white and a bit warmer. Sometimes all white is good but sometimes antique white is better.
Thanks for the tip and I will google the RGB numbers for it. I have plenty of slots open for more static looks, so I might as well create one for antique white too, yanno? It's so easy to do.
Can your banks be set to specific phrases of the music? Rekordbox lighting knows when the verse & chorus & bridge change and then change lights accordingly.
That awesome bro, thanks for showing us, I do have a sound switch too I’m still learning too, is their a way can you share your profile lightts show, I will preciated thank you
Yes, you need some kind of dmx interface to send a dmx signal to your lights. It doesn't have to be the Control One. SS makes a basic dmx dongle you can use as well. You can also edit autoloops and create autoscripts in the software without using the Control One.
You can not use a static mode and an autoloop at the same time. Either one or the other. What you can do is use an autoloop and then manually program your uplights to just show one color. Remember that screen I showed you on here that is similar to FL Studio where you edit your lightshow with a mouse? That's where you would do that, however, like I said in my video, I don't mess with that so I can't tell you how to do it, but it is possible. Good luck!
Wow that’s the best SoundSwitch Tutorial for a beginner… love the pace and the way you have explained it in detail. Thanks A Ton !!!

This was good!👍🏾 ..Thank you!
Is this what you are currently still using to run your DMX? Have your tried the WMX1 and if so, how do you like it compared to the SS?
