Right click on the steam icon in the task bar after its launched and load Big Picture, then you will have your "Steam Deck" experience. You can also setup steam to launch all your other 3rd party games as well.
I think the learning curve is probably worth it, I'm gonna pick one up soon, not a problem for me since I'm an avid PC gamer and tinkerer but the way they marketed it to console gamers I'd weird.

Oh yeah, I love the thing and it's been great for learning more about how Windows 11 ticks.
