Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.

As a BL fan, I would also like to add that beyond his evident talents as a songwriter, guitarist and an amazing stage performer, he possesses an irresistible charm that captivates audiences - the X factor. The 🔥wild energy🔥 he channels onstage is mesmerizing, particularly knowing the contrast with his more reserved nature offstage as an introvert. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his journey as an artist is simply awe-inspiring. As you already mentioned in your video, everything about BL's performance just clicks, and I have a strong feeling that he will indeed 'rim tim tagi win'.💣💥💫🤘🥰😎

Croatia is my winner! ❤ I love BL as a performer, his energy and how the audience responds to him. That is his talent! I like Nemo’s voice, amazing vocal acrobat and I can see them winning, absolutely. Italy, on the other hand, I don’t see/hear it, nothing about it “moves” me much, there are other entries I like much better. This is just my subjective, unprofessional opinion, of course. Let’s see what happens! 🙂

I personally find Angelina Mango super charismatic as well, perhaps not as much as Baby Lasagna, but still great charisma.
A win for Italy is very possible this year because of a likely split between the jury favorite and the audience favorite and when that happens, someone who is in the top 3 on both charts wins. Croatia might be that winner if it appeals enough to juries. Switzerland might be that if it appeals enough to audiences (currently predicted to be #1 with jury).
Netherlands is currently predicted to be #1 in the televote but it’s unclear what the juries will think.
So because of that, Italy has strong chances to be the compromise winner - well liked by jury and audiences and hence achieving a score that beats everyone else.
For now (way too early to predict, I know) my current assumption (which may change later on) is that the final chart after everyone voted will look like this:

First of all, all of them are amazing and they all would deserve to win.
Italy and Switzerland have impeccable vocals. Croatia lacks a little bit of vocal control, but his charisma is amazing and the song is a banger.
My personal preference goes to Italy, because it’s in the native language, sounds ethnic and modern at the same time, and the lyrics are amazing. But I think it’s just a matter of personale taste

All I want to say is that Croatia's song is the ONLY entry this year were the author of the song is only one person - Baby lasagna. That's probably why it feels so authentic.
Apart from that I'll vote for Lithuania, because it's my personal fave this year, even knowing they wont win. I'm just gonna give the votes to my fave.

Both Italy and Swiss have better produced songs and vocalists, but Croatia has the 1 with the most contagious energy. It's hard to tell how televote would react.

These are three songs with three different styles. The songs of Croatia and Italy are more from popular tradition, they can be danced in the disco, they remain in the memory and are very catchy. The song of Switzerland seems more appreciable to a minority of people with particular tastes, it is difficult to memorize and is not easily danceable.
as you say, all of them have a different flavour and maybe also a different listener, which is actually good for all the drama! :)

Of the three, it is Croatia (BL) who should take it. I value MUSIC much higher than virtousity ('great skill in music'). Nemo and La Noia, to me, seem to be mostly like showcases for virtuosity but somehow aren't songs I feel drawn to 'come back to'. Not so with BL. I look forward to hearing and re-hearing the song.
hmm, I like everyone has this differently set. As musicality I would value La Noia even its not super my thing. It is one of the best composed songs this year if jot best, authentic and quality. Rim tim meow is a garage made song and it also feels this way, which after all gives it this special feeling. As this is fascinating, how any element can be vers important regardless anything and thats what I like on music.
@@JanBors Why a song 'works' or 'doesn't quite work' is hard to put down into words. La Noia is a well composed song for sure! It seems constructed to 'showcase virtuosity' (... like Nemo) and it immediately gets a lot of praise for that. But to my 'musical ear / brain' it just seems to have a progression of chords and melody that I've 'heard before' and 'predictable' after hearing the first 'song' and 'chorus'. I could hum the parts I find 'unoriginal' but I can't do that here. BL 'just works' (in your words). Somehow La Noia doesn't quite 'work' like BL. (apologize for long answers)
Croatia was above Italy for me from the start but as weeks go by I love La Noia more and more and currently it surpasses Croatia on my personal chart of favorites (I still absolutely love the Croatian song).

U do did't listen song, I was weryOve godine Marko je moj favorit, navijala sam za njega i pre pobede na Dori. Navijala bi za njegovu pobedu čak i da je ove godine kod nas pobedila Konstrakta. Elem, ljudi da li ste svesni koliko ste kontradiktorni, ne svi da ne generalizujem. Ali da li ste vi svesni da vi već imate pobednika bilo da Marko bude prvi od pozadi(što se, sigurna sam) neće desiti ili se popeo na pobedničko postolje. Šta se dešava sa mnogima od vas večeras?! Ja sam večeras gledala (tek) treći po redu Markov nastup i uživala sam. Otpevao je odlično, oduševio me je sa nošnjom, energijom, harizmom. To što zvuk nije bio dobar to je do tonca, ne do Marka, to što je kamerman hvatao neke pogrešne kadrove nije do Marka. Mnogima je smetalo to što je Marko nosio nošnju. To je i vaša nošnja, vaše nacionalno blago na koje trebate da budete ponosni. Posle 30 i kusur godina zahvaljujući Marku imate više nego realne šanse za pobedu, prvi ste na kladionicama, za mesec dana preko 7 miliona pregleda svih Markovih spotova, a vas brine to što će da vam padne rejting na kladionicama zbog - VAŠE nacionalne nošnje?! Umesto podrške-osuda, umesto pohvala - grdnja! Zašto?! Svesni ste da Marko nije više "rezerva" već vaš predstavnik na koga trebate da budete samo ponosni i zahvalni na toj činjenici. As for Nemo's clothes i personally love their style! It's so whimsical and fun, I plan to dress like Nemo for viewing parties as a lot of these style of clothes I have in my wardrobe so I can be budget friendly 😂😅 I have the same fluffy pink hat they have

Exactly what you said, some songs don't speak to everyone. So Switzerland "doesn't speak" to me. It just doesn't work. I have a feeling it's excessive and chaotic . Italy and Croatia are songs we remember and those three minutes seem like a minute has passed 🙂

Funny thing, Swiss song is in English, and I still have no clue whats it's about. Idk if it's supposed to be happy, sad, angry, about a heartbreak or what? On the other hand, I don't speak italian but upon looking up the lyrics I was like "Yeah! That's exactly the feeling I got" like, I totally understood it.

You showed the appropriate awe and found the right adjectives to describe the song and artist.
Probably even too good for Eurovision. It's a masterpiece as well as an international hit song, extremely intelligent. Many ESC songs are only successful within the ESC context. This is far bigger.
As you mentioned correctly, some motives would have been a great James Bond song as well.
and yet imo this is more Eurovision made song than anything else. Which idk if it is good or wrong. Simply it rly works!

Croatia, Italy and Switzerland are very best , i would add Belgium and UK too. This years Eurovision is like battle royal , at least 5 countries can win. Finally no clear winner
The Swiss one is vocally the most difficult to sing and Nemo is good, Croatia has the best musical base and Italy is a mix of the two.
Vocally i think Italy has the most difficult song to sing. Falsetto is not hard on the voice, notice his voice suffers a bit outside the falsetto, not during. He has good control on his falsetto though granted.
There should be two winners; one for the music quality, which touches the brain, and the other for people that touch the heart. Isn't any art's "duty" to "awake" our senses?

I think the 3 songs are so close in overall quality that either could win, think it really depends on staging and performance. I feel like Croatia showed us how it will look like on stage or close too, Swiss tv performance is what i guess will look a lot like what they will show, unless they have something completely else in mind. But honestly i have no idea what Italy wants to do. The monitor shows like party tequila moraccas vibes, but she has only ever been solo on stage. Are they gonna make it a party or are they gonna make it a diva performance, i really cant get near predicting it, and what i really want the most.

Baby Lasagna has the biggest charisma of all of those three and I think he works his magic over the audience no matter if they are present or looking it over tv. I really like Switzerland song- it is gorgeous, although the singer is not as much charismatic, it has global trend included (transgender people) and I think it will be crucial for Swiss to win this year.

@timojarun7830 My first languages are German and Italian (I'm Swiss) and we do not have genderneutral pronouns. We should have special endings for adjectives and all the pronouns (even for my, your, this...) because they change according to the gender. It's a little bit more complicated than English. As a nonbinary person myself, I still want to be called she. I find the plural in English a little bit confusing and still have to get used to it. So I try to write sentences without using pronouns. We will get there. In 10-20 years, it will be normal for everyone.
Human beings do not belong to the neuter gender. And never will. There are masculine, feminine and the neuter gender is known when it is used. Some consider themselves Martians. And are they? They are not, regardless of the fact that they call themselves Martians. So is that question. A human creature can never be neuter because it is not.

another interesting fact - note how close are these 3 countries...and Italy the only one bordering both of them - like connecting 2 extremes and providing a compromise or mainstream between "too advantgard" (Nemo) vs "too simple (Baby Lasagna). Coincidence?
the real answer would be probably even more complicated as there are another sharks in this tank and each of them have its own powers! Like in pokemon!!
Slimane is a big shark...and the only classic ballad around - remember Maneskin's year.?..Voila' was about to win (another french classic ballad)...and Switzerland too another great song....but Nemo in my view is something else.

The thing about Switzerland is as you said at first listen it isn't so convincing so people who listen for the first time on Eurovision night maybe aren't so sure, whereas Croatia has an immediate impact, it's very catchy so people will remember. La noia is probably a 'safer' choice of song, I don't know if it will be enough. I am pretty sure Croatia will win the televote, we have to see if the jury is going to have a 'big' favorite like Sweden last year where there was no contest or if the votes are a bit more spread out. I am Italian so if Italy wins I would be happy but Croatia is great in my opinion and they would be winning for the first time, I would be equally happy.
Hey! Thx for such a comment! I am not sure that jury will have one clear favorite. There will be more as you say, that can help Croatia a lot. I would not be surprised if France and also Germany will join a race for best jury act. The only question is where from this position will be Croatia. I kinda think that the odds of combination will play in favour of Ukraine, as this is both - public vote choice at some extend and also jury vote.

2021: Malta×Switzerland×France, but Italy won.
2024: Croatia×Switzerland×Italy, but the Netherlands win?
Honestly, I hate the fact that Switzerland dethroned Croatia as the odds' favourite. Not because I want Croatia to win instead of Switzerland, but because now the fans will start arguing like preschoolers over who deserves to win more, and we have more that 1 month to go before the grand final. I'm pretty sure that the bookmakers' favourite will change again and again until the rehearsals give us a clear picture of who is going to win.
Personally I still hope for Croatia to triumph, but I will not rule out any scenario before seeing each contender on the Eurovision stage (which is why I mentioned 2021 as an example). If Switzerland, Italy or the Netherlands outperform everyone else in Malmö then they will deserve to win.
I hope Netherlands is not winning... this would be a disaster for Eurovision.
@JanBors Maybe. Someone might say that the Netherlands has no more of a "joke entry" than Croatia has.
Honestly though, I don't think there will ever be a bigger disaster for Eurovision than Ukraine 2022 getting a purely political win with a ridiculous amount of televoting points. I would rather hear people say "Eurovision is trash" than "Eurovision is political."
@@dimidrugg9592 eurovision as any other big event cannot avoid this. People's votes decided. Nothing wrong about it as Ukraine did not send a trashy song. You can also say, Europapa is political as it talks about open eu borders, which is a political topic... just knock it off. Croatia has for sure closer to joke entry, but it is not. Gladly.
@JanBors People vote massively for different reasons: in 2022 they showed sympathy to a country which suffers a war. In 2024 they will more than likely vote for the act which entertained them the most. In my opinion, it is better to vote for the song than the country it represents.
Yes, 'Europapa' makes political references, but I doubt that anyone will vote for it because they feel proud EU citizens.

For me, I love Angelina I love Italian songs in general, some of my favorite songs are Italian: Piccolo Grande Amore, Gente di Mare, Piazza Grande, Caruso... to name a few, and Croatian as Mediterranean and share some Italian cultural elements are usually into Italian songs. (every year they got 12pts either from public or jury - we feel them). But, La noia is not strongest song they have sent. Great song, great vocal, great energy but... for me Due vite was much better. I think hype among esc fans is cause of female they have sent in years. So, I do not think this could win with average viewers who doesn't care about that.
Regarding Switzerland and Croatia. There's one big, huge difference between those two: Croatian song is likable. It is easy and it is love on the first sight! While Code is song you need to listen couple of times to start loving it. I didn't like song at all, but now I start to like it. It took some time. And, how many times an average esc viewer have opportunity to hear those songs? Once! (or maybe twice if they watching semis). That is not enough times for Nemo.
All tree songs are great! Love them all. I think this year is one of my favs by numbers of songs I like. But, I really hope people will vote for BL. Can you imagine: 2025: Croatia choose new government (not corrupt as current one), Croatia win European football championship and Croatia win Eurosong! WoooHooo!!! And last but not the least: Hajduk win Croatian football championship!😁 🤣
