When you assembled the wheels to the hull I can't believe Henschel didn't think just once "Umm this might be a complicated setup.." I have been thinking of picking up this kit. Immense detail on that thing. Thanks for showing what's included. Makes the purchase much easier.
@@SoloFalcon1138 the torsion bars on mine broke so I just glued it in place I can say with confidence I need much more experience before building a tiger
Sooo... I went from Fury, to playing world of tanks, to looking up surviving tank demonstrations, and then to these scale model building I never seen before. To a person like me, this looks like hell to do. ;_; thus I have a newfound appreciation for these tiny replicas and the people taking the time to build them. Pretty neat.
Robert Villegas in my opinion, the 1/35 scale models aren’t all that hard to make. Painting/weathering is much harder. If you want to start, I would recommend Tamiya.
i went from fury, to playing war thunder, I quit war thunder, watch girls und panzer and be a official asian weeb, and now I am into scale armor models and build like 4 models
I enjoy watching your complete builds,Andy, no matter how old they are. I just get so much from them. Thanks. Like Tamiya,Dragon make really good kits with more parts. They are just as enjoyable.
Thank you. I just bought this kit. A to the point thoughtfully put together most helpful and inspiring vid, thankfully without an overbearing thumping insta-leave soundtrack in place of the voice narrative so frequent in dilettante You Tube reviews. Two thumbs up!
Love your videos and I love the music you play during them! Also - I haven't seen people making a complete kit before painting...which was impressive and might be something I give a try because one of the parts that slows me down is what to paint and when. Thank you.
Stevie Gibson thank you, I plan on doing the instructions in the corner from now on, I couldn't do it completely on this kit because you could see the instructions while I was filming so it looked weird.Thank you for watching,I 've got a lot more coming.
I've been advised from an alternative source ..(Adam Mann)...that the Dragon Kit no 6383 is the best value for money in all the Dragon range of Tigers. It only retails for approx. £30..($45)...., but is as accurate and in some cases more so than other Dragon Tigers that retail for nearly twice as much. Thanks for posting this build which was great to watch.
Man, Andy, I love your channel and videos. I wish I lived in the states so I could buy from and support you. But rest assured, I'm supporting your overseas colleagues at my local hobby shops.
Just ordered the Dragon Tiger 1 Mid (#6700). I know this model is different (Late Tiger 1) but this video was still helpful, thank you. Really excited to get to building my first Dragon model. Got to finish my Tamiya Sherman M4A3E8 first, though. ;)
What I have never understood with Dragon kits is the fact that they make you built with 1000 pieces the engine or interior which you never see after closing and finishing the model. Andy, great built, thanks for sharing
I think gluing the wheels in a fixed position was a good idea. Just looking at the torsion bars as you were putting them in said fragile to me. If I were building it the suspension would have got broke some time during the adding of the top deck tools and tools.
Looks almost identical to their Tiger I E kit that I had without Zim about 5 years ago. I bought a zim kit from Cavalier to do mine. It was one of Dragon's first kits with the new tracks you showed, that for some reason I hated. I much prefer their Magic-Tracks. I also notice Dragon has raised the prices on these Zim molded kits, which feel mostly like reboxes to me just with the updated Zim textured hulls and panels. Anyway, although very late to the show, nice build.
Lot of dragon kit comments. Yes the part count is crazy, but also be careful. Research Dragon's kits. Some are not really worth the extra cash. Tamiya etc usually are just as good with the finished product. Any case, Dragon and it's sister companies (forget the name off the top of my head) tend to re-box old kits and add some PE (photo etch parts) and sell at cost as if new molds. Now some of the newer kits though are amazing, but Tamiya has also stepped it up a bit to.
Looks similar to the Dragon kit I did a couple years ago but it wasn't zimmerit molded. Instead I used the Cavalier brand Zimmerit that had to be applied with epoxy glue.
Great video Andy. I order a 1/35 rb early tiger 1 barrel for a dragon tiger 1 (p) I have. How long is the actual metal gun barrel it seems small for a 1/35 scale.
before painted the gun barred and photo-etch parts look nice where order the gun barred and photo-etch parts Andy and how much to ship to pontiac Michigan if I order it plus tiger 1 is nice kit plus can I paint it all of it German Grey if I want
Hi Andy! Found your channel couple a days ago and keep on watching and watching :) Since I returned to scale modelling after more then 15 years, I am looking for a decent compressor and airbrush. What kit would you recommend for 200-250USD? Thank you very much!
Sabba im no Andy but I would just go with a cheap Iwata airbrush. Something like neo or eclipse model will be fine to begin with then you can look at upgrading if you decide it's worth the investment. It's 98% the skill of the artist most of the time :) as for compressor, any cheap 6hp will do but two features to keep an eye for are that you want one with an air tank for consistent pressure as well as a pressure gauge so that you can set the pressure how you like.
I see that you glued the wheels down so that the torsion bars do not work how did you line up the wheels to make sure they were all level and flat before gluing them down
Are there any videos where you explain what you are doing? I find the included instructions really difficult to follow as there are no written words. I am an old-timer where instructions actually said "place part K1 through the hole in B3 and ensure that it rotates freely" etc. I also do not understand the painting instructions as it mentions a number of required paints, but only shows a half dozen parts to be painted. Surely I'm not the only stupid person out here?

Very nice to meeting you today at your model show enjoyed it very much!! ...
Listening to that wonderful music makes me wish I'd learned how to dance a nice waltz when I was a kid.
This model of Tiger I , 1/35 scale , from Dragon is amazing !🥇🏆👍✌️
I always have loved your classical building montages. :)
Another great video Andy. Thank you for posting these.....nicely shot and edited. I particularly like the kit instructions in the left hand corner.

One thing I didn't like about tamiya's Matilda. Go through the effort of putting the suspension together just to cover it up with the side armor.
I think gluing the wheels in a fixed position was a good idea. Just looking at the torsion bars as you were putting them in said fragile to me. If I were building it the suspension would have got broke some time during the adding of the top deck tools and tools.
It would be an interesting project to modify such a kit into a fully functional model.
I love the looks of Dragon kits if only I had the patience to put all the small pieces on.
I just finished a Dragon Panther D and there are so many small parts that are in the kit. A little too much for my liking.

Which brown and green paint do you use?
Is it better to use a paint brush or air brush
I prefer an airbrush over paintbrush but paint is paint and it can be applied any way and still get a relatively good paint job!😀
