I'm going to be real honest with you - I've unsubbed from multiple KDP "gurus" because it's always a runaround with the answer leading straight into buying their courses. THANK YOU for being honest, informative, and descriptive in why things work! Two things: 1. Should I archive older ads and redo them as though the book is new? 2. Never lose the robe, please.
I'm just here to help out as many publishers as possible so they don't make the same mistakes I did :) To answer your ads question, ads are only the final part or the publishing process which means you need to have a high quality book first before running the ads. I can't tell you what you need to do with your ads specifically without taking a look at your book unfortunately. And the robe, is my work clothes. It's not going anywhere :)
You must have been a professor in another life! Your videos are really informative and done so well, so easy to follow because of how you explain everything!
Can you make a video on what specific skills you acquired during your KDP journey? Like, what free and paid resources would you recommend, courses for designer skills, software programs you use, etc.
I have recently made a video on the skill sets you need as a high content publisher. I believe its the video published before this one that we're commenting on. I hope it helps :)
Your videos are so funny and easy to follow, thank you!! Do you recommend putting all your budget in one book at a time to grow it or spread your budget over multiple books at once?
Copywriting is one of the things I struggled with as well but once you get the hang of it, it's so easy you will start to do it subconsciously. I will look into making a video for you :)
There are specific campaigns that you can set up that help expand your reach and let amazon find lower traffic keywords that softwares might not pick up :)
Hi Barry, I have a question. I've watched all the ams ads related videos in your channel. Almost in every video you mentioned its ok to loose money in the first two months of our ad campaigns (And you said that is how ads work. After that you proved it with your own books.) But how do we know the reason behind people not buying our book during first two months? How to differentiate the actual reason behind that? Could it be because of a bad book or just the way ads work? Actually why people are not buying our books during first two months of our ads? (We have a good book with good number of reviews and the targeted keywords also relevant) 🤔 Thank you.
This is an extremely difficult question because its different for every book. I can literally give you at least 7 different reasons why someone won't buy your book the first 2 months. However if you've done the research correctly and executed the book in a high quality fashion people will buy it. If not then it means there is something that is pushing the customer away. If this is the case I would analyse my competitors and be honest on what they are doing better than you :)
Thanks for your valuable videos, so appreciated! Do you have a video on keyword research, or if not, can you make one? I know that in addition to the quality of a book, keywords are of utmost importance, whether they’re in the title, backend keywords or ads. I have several books published, but I still struggle with keyword research. Thanks!
I'm glad you're finding the videos valuable. If you search for 'keywords research' on my channel you should be able to find a previous video I made that talks about keywords. You might find that helpful :)
It's great the video ✨ , So for the auto campaign, if it targets books that click and sell our book. We put it in negative this product in auto and add it to the product campaign or we let it run? Merci de ton retour
I stopped my ads after spending around $520 on Amazon Ads , some money on Facebook ads, and some Pinterest Ads as well. I have yet to calculate the money I have spent on the last two. I did my Amazon ads based on UA-cam videos, which l watched, and l added relevant keywords. I started with manual Ads, and the plan was to switch to automatic later. I developed cold feet. However, l had only sold three books ) a family member bought 2). I outsourced the books and or book covers just to make sure my books can stand and compete with other books. They are low and medium-content books, though; maybe that is the reason. I have just restarted the Ads now, but getting weary now.
It's great that you are trying new things but it's important to understand that what I talk about in this video will only work if your book is high quality and has a high conversion rate. No amount of ads from amazon, Facebook or Pinterest will increase the conversion rate of your book, which is the most important thing :)
@@barrygeorgioukdp to say thanks so much, Barry. I was intrigued as to why my ads were not working. Did you know that the problem was the keywords that l was using? Sometimes, DIY is not the best. I did the ads while watching UA-cam videos on how to do it. I could have used the money wasted to hire a professional who at least knows what they are doing. This is medicine after death.

My mirror is better than the competitors’ mirrors and high quality, This is the opinion of some people who bought my Book(mirror), but I cannot compete with people who exploit loopholes in the Amazon system by using irrelevant categories to get best sellers badge.also They get more than a hundred reviews in just a week (thunder speed) through their team or their friends etc.. regarding Amazon Ads, even if you get all the most relevant keywords words, the ads will be very expensive, especially if you are talking about very competitive niches. So still the cost high and maybe loss some money, there is no stability in short term. so whole game on Amazon isn't fair. this is my opinion. Thanks for read.
You can still compete with publishers even if they use sketchy ways of getting reviews and best seller badges. It's important to focus on making your book a better market fit rather than focusing on how your competitors are not playing fair :)
You should turn off some ads though. I had 8 different ads running to a book but ended up turning off 5 of them to keep the best performing ones.@@Eduardo-sg2do
Personally I never turn off my ads. I don't see any benefit in turning off ads unless i want the book to die down because I didn't do a good job with it :)
