I've been using a Sabian 22" HHX Complex Thin Ride as my gigging ride the past couple of years. It's especially useful for smaller/indoor gigs since it doubles as my right crash. Keeps me from having to bring as much gear. Probably the best cymbal that I own.
Good topic. Ive never even gotten to play any array of these type of top toer cymbals, but i always love the sounds. I wanna get some byzance foundry dry so n so hats. And some istanbul agop rides and chinas
nice video! very informative. Can you do a video on replicating cymbals used on electronic drums? I have an yamaha electronic kit and I want to replicate my cymbals from my electronic kit to my acoustic kit.
Personally I don’t get it either but I can imagine there’s a place for it. I’d say fast technical playing where you don’t want to take up too much sonic space? The sound is very short but there’s still a musical quality to the attack.. I think..
Dark means lower pitch, dry means low sustain/ resonance. These terms are just marketing.
The Cowboy Drummer absolutely BRINGS it each time out! Respect! 🫡 💯 🤠

Nice comparison! Thank you for the video!
Where's that Dark Crisp at? I'm in love with it
Dark crisp was Cowboydrummer's penis after his trip to Amsterdam
I play a set of extra dry cymbals with a sizzler on each one it sounds sick

The dark ride is choice af 🔥👌
Howdy my dude, I love these vids. I think that the meme inserts could be a little less. Definitely very fun to see ur longer format stuff!

Best. Absolutely correct!!!
The coating under that Masters ride makes it look cheap af.
I really dont understand extra dry cymbals. Why spend 400 bucks for something that just goes bonk?
