this is great! so hyped for this series, and thanks for the kind words at the end! if you ask me, no need for an upload schedule, but keep the commentary for the whole episode! the commentary is great!
For when you play music over the time lapses, definitely use your own tracks; if ppl subscribe to this channel but dont care about your dnb, they can just mute it and play their own tracks - also, this is a really fantastic city start, love the theme!
Your attention to detail is amazing. I feel like there would be more shops directly around the station as opposed to residential though. At least that's what I noticed a lot when I was in Japan.
I would definitely recommend taking inspiration from three places in Japan: Kamakura (specifically the coastal area), Fujinomiya, and the outskirts of Kyoto. Loved this video! Really wonderful demonstration of CS1's capabilities.
I'm big fan of Cities Skylines, and I like watching how people making they own imagination with mixing themes... Anyway, I'm glad that I'm here. You're doing amazing job with details. I know how much time this needed. You get my attention, and I know, that next videos what I'm gonna to watch it'll be worth it! So many inspiration for my own work at my own citi builds
To answer your question at the beginning of the video, most Japanese rail crossings have four barriers, two on each side of the road. Of this isn't always the case, but most crossings have four. The mod was probably going for that, the barriers did close with that mod right? If so I'd suggest going with that one for more realism :)
Listening to you feels like ASMR, i fell asleep but I can imagine what you're doing with your city. And an original city is amazing, requires high creativity
If you have a random gap in between buildings, you should place a single tomb. I live on Okinawa, and that's sure what it looks like. Graves everywhere. Some are really cool to look at. The most interesting ones I've seen are right behind my house. They seem to have been built during WWII, then buried in dirt from disrepair. They dug them back out about 6 months ago.
You picked the name the same way I picked Ryozen as a spot for a fictional town in a comic book I been writing for a while. Pretty cool and a great way to figure out how to make your idea fit the setting you mean to model the environment after
I've been looking everywhere for videos like this! I'm learning how to build on Cities Skylines too and really want to make a Japanese city. I lived in Tokyo for a little under a year and would love to see the diverse range of neighborhoods! My favorite areas where Hibyia and Nakameguro!! I can't wait for the asset lists!!!
Thanks a lot for the comment, yeah I will have the asset list coming soon and the mod list too, working on those atm. I'm wondering though, I have some collections which have waaaaay more items in it that I'm actually subscribed to, but they do fit the Japanese style. These collections are also pretty well organized by category and such, so I could just release those, saves me a lot of time making new collections.
Loving it thus far i love watching City Skyline builds! the level of detail is excellent and i look forward to what this series will bring. would be great to hear some of your music in the videos as for a schedule that doesn't matter at all as this is just the beginning of the series!
This video just randomly appears on my UA-cam recommendation, and it's make me want to watch cities Skylines series . It's has been long time since I watching cities Skylines video/series . This pretty good
So so hype for this series!! I really enjoy the commentary during building. If its easier for you, you can also wing it as youre building. I’d like that natural feeling as well. Thanks for the effort in this series. Keep it up!
I'm so glad I found your channel. This video was so peaceful and calming. The details in this city are wonderful. I can't wait to watch the rest of this series and maybe start my own Japanese town. Thanks for the inspiration.
this is so me, lots and lots of green, plants and trees everywhere... looking forward to your collections in the steam... just found another amazing series..
I'm a bit late to the party but want to say this looks really good so far. I really enjoy a commentary as so many others don't have commentary. For small town rural inspirations, take a look at Tsuruoka in Yamagata prefecture , or Matsushima in Miyagi prefecture. I love the city of Tsuruoka, but it is a relatively flat. Matsushima on the othe hand it sandwiched right between coastline and mountains, and there are some great rail crossings there for pedestrians going up the mountain
I first visited Japan this year and this build really pays homage to the layout of the city and the density! Cannot wait to see what this becomes, love your detailed work
Wow. Amazing start! I can't wait for more :) I like the commentary... And maybe you could look into the Kochi area for some inspiration? There are smaller, but still dense towns. The cinematics in the intro really reminded me of Kochi and the nearby cities, like Konan.
Why is it, ever since my late Teens when I first became interested in Anime that I've always been fascinated with the idea of living in modern Japan? The development style, so much high density, everything so charmingly crammed into a mountainous island, rail everywhere, lovely simple but modern homes. So much character and history, the towns scream comfort and community. That said, I still have no real idea what Japanese society is really like, I've seen what I assume are more stereotypes.
So well done ! Very beautiful cinematics! モダンシテイ Modern City. I used to watch another japanese csl channel but he's doing a lot of live stream development and im not into that. Your videos is so beautiful especially the color vibe.
Good job. I really dont like playing the game like this, but its cool how down to detail you go. You talk good and have nice voice, i really like listening to you.
Cant believe I just now discovered this channel, especially since it seems you stopped building/uploading :D Gonna binge the rest of the episodes anyway.
youtube recommend me your video and wow what a pleasant surprise! I instantly subscribed to you! I enjoy when you do your voice over and explaining your thought process during the video so dont cut that out! Also I love your music, I have tuned in earlier to your main channel and shortly left but had a good time. Great work, this is seriously outstanding!
Wow you were on my homepage of UA-cam and man I'm glad! Great start of the series! Love the music, love the details, love the commentary! Keep on going!
I really like what you're doing here. IF you want to put some commentary, some trivias about what made you go for that feeling or your research would be really fun
The cars driving through the terrain just to get to the parking lot by the shrine really gets me😩 It was so funny I had to stop watching for a while idk why its so funny to me skjdjf also I love this series please do more commentary! Perhaps talk about why you decided to make these new changes in every episode?
I have been serching for more japanese style city skyline projects. Kyoto and Osaka are amazing places to get inspirational amd i have been there too so yes i am bias.
I think you are the single most charming, talented and entertaining new channels! Cant wait to see what EVER you've got to show! Haha Maybe talk a little about your inspirations, play some of your music and it'll be a fun watch i think ^^ Personally i would LOVE to see the weirder quirkier sides of a metropolis like that! Some wild entertainment district, movie studio or temple district! Or even all of that! 🤩🤩👌
When a sound designer choosing a nice sounding name for a Japanese city you can' go wrong, and you definitely didn't, I think it's a name that has a great ring to it. (I have no clue about Japanese language either :) )
shoutout to the algorithm for bringing me here. always wanted to see a Japanese styled Cities Skylines build!
Haha good job algorithm!
May I suggest Kobayashi Island along with this both amazing builds
thanks UA-cam-kun
"That text is probably wrong but I don't care" LoL man! You rock
Maybe he should care...as he’s basing an entire series on creating a Japanese city.
Not very sincere.
Now he changed it
this is great! so hyped for this series, and thanks for the kind words at the end! if you ask me, no need for an upload schedule, but keep the commentary for the whole episode! the commentary is great!
You're welcome, the MARS series really is a special one haha!
let's go first episode! well-detailed build & love the intimate cinematics
Thanks Jaqrel!
For when you play music over the time lapses, definitely use your own tracks; if ppl subscribe to this channel but dont care about your dnb, they can just mute it and play their own tracks - also, this is a really fantastic city start, love the theme!
Thanks! Yeah I have been working on a lot of new music and I thought, I might use those as background music if people don't mind it too much.
@@ARTFXGaming what's the name of the musical track that's used for the intro/ outro? I like it quite a lot
Your attention to detail is amazing. I feel like there would be more shops directly around the station as opposed to residential though. At least that's what I noticed a lot when I was in Japan.
"How many details do you want to put?"
"Yes"
The beauty shots at the end look like the overworld for an SMT/Persona game.
Amazing, 4 years later , finally finding this gold.
Saw your post on reddit and got hyped. Now that I've seen the first episode I'm even more excited. Great start, can't wait to see where it goes! 😁
Next episode will be a big one!
I love the look of small Japanese cities, they're so cool! Can't wait to see the rest.
I would definitely recommend taking inspiration from three places in Japan: Kamakura (specifically the coastal area), Fujinomiya, and the outskirts of Kyoto. Loved this video! Really wonderful demonstration of CS1's capabilities.
Actually, I see you're using the famous tram from Kamakura!
3 years later and I'm constantly watching you not only are your videos really good but to gain inspiration and motivation
found this while looking on reddit. this will be a good series i can tell.
Your voice and accent is so soothing and, no homo, lovely
The level of DETAIL is INTENSE! Instant subscribe!
Can’t wait to see where this series is going, you did a fantastic job! Love how detailed the city is!
31:01 Look at this brave guy! Nevermind, you did a really amazing job. I very enjoy it.
The detail, so insane!! 🥵👍🏼

I think he used anarchy and didn’t connect to the Rwy
As a person that has been to Japan, this is pretty much spot on. Amazing seeing how detailed this is
Except for the graves, they are definitely not in front or surrounding the shrine, they are usually tucked behind the temple, not shrine
Listening to you feels like ASMR, i fell asleep but I can imagine what you're doing with your city. And an original city is amazing, requires high creativity

This is incredible, I really admire your eye for detail! Can’t wait for the next one!
Thanks!

Beautiful !
This is truly the most impressive cities skylines build I’ve ever seen.
I've been looking everywhere for videos like this! I'm learning how to build on Cities Skylines too and really want to make a Japanese city.

@@ARTFXGaming That would be awesome! It would also allow people to pick and choose what they want. Thank you!

This pretty good
Keep the commentary going bruh..your voice is soothing and you talk sense
Great video! Very underrated channel.
Getting two dollars twenty vibes from this video. The commentary over the sped up footage..
So so hype for this series!! I really enjoy the commentary during building. If its easier for you, you can also wing it as youre building. I’d like that natural feeling as well. Thanks for the effort in this series. Keep it up!
Stumbled upon this today. Many great angle at the end, I love it. Please keep uploading!
I'm so glad I found your channel. This video was so peaceful and calming. The details in this city are wonderful. I can't wait to watch the rest of this series and maybe start my own Japanese town. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love these kinds of builds. One series I recommend is "Isla Ivatan" i think? It's based on a Philippine municipality.
loved this!! it looks so much like Japan!!
best cities skylines city ive seen in the first 10 minutes
Instant subscribed with that epic intro!
The cinematics are so dream-like and lovely. Good job!
this is so me, lots and lots of green, plants and trees everywhere... looking forward to your collections in the steam... just found another amazing series..

the quality and amount of detail is ridiculous god damn, definitely gonna follow this, you are a different breed dude
I'm a bit late to the party but want to say this looks really good so far.
I really enjoy a commentary as so many others don't have commentary.

And similar to Tsuruoka, check out Shonai and Sakata nearby
Your channel was very successful good job, love the city
Great video tbh. I really like the way people build an environment and record it like this. Keep it up.
awesome vid dude, looking forward to catching up
I first visited Japan this year and this build really pays homage to the layout of the city and the density! Cannot wait to see what this becomes, love your detailed work
I'm a bit late, but it's hard to tell that this is your first video. You already seem so experienced!
Love the build and the commentary. Great work! 👌
I actually love the fact that if you type "Cities Skylines Japanese City" this comes up first (for me at least) but still dope.
Wow. Amazing start! I can't wait for more :)
I like the commentary...

Amazing! great job!
You deserve 100k with this quality content 👍

ARTFX Gaming this is the best series i have ever seen!
2 MINUTES IN AND IT'S ALREADY BEAUTIFUL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I have been serching for more japanese style city skyline projects.
Kyoto and Osaka are amazing places to get inspirational amd i have been there too so yes i am bias.
That cinematic at the end was the best.
I have the mind to build this, but the patience of a toddler.
I'm a bit late since you uploaded this but this is amazing, I'm looking forward to watching more of your builds!

DETAIL IS SO GOOD!!!!
Looks awsome! I love to find new channels, gonna be a nice journey. Keep up the good work!
I just found your channel. Your work is very professional and your music is excellent. You inspired me.
This is so gooodd.. the thing that i think is missing is the tiring high stairways on almlst every alley hahaha
When a sound designer choosing a nice sounding name for a Japanese city you can' go wrong, and you definitely didn't, I think it's a name that has a great ring to it. (I have no clue about Japanese language either :) )
In less than a minute has done more detailing than me that I've played this game from the launch.
What a sad story.
this is great my man
