My M&P 2.0 4.25 C.O.R.E series with ported barrel EDC and USPSA match gun just had the firing pin break at 20,408 rds. S&W customer service is sending me a new firing pin assembly and recoil spring assembly and new slide lock, no questions asked. Was literally looking to purchase a new one for EDC while dedicating this one for matches. The timing of this couldn't be any better.
I have had similar experiences with S&W customer service. They are very helpful and get parts for maintenance intervals in a timely manner. I'll keep buying M&P's
How the heck did you get them to send you parts? They denied my requests for replacement springs and a stock flat faced trigger assembly, even after I included in the email I would have a gunsmith install them.
@musicman1eanda call customer service and talk with them like you know your stuff. Have serial # of firearm available just in case. Tell them you shoot a lot and that they have sent you those replacement parts to you in the past with no issue. If you have a problem with 1 employee, hang up, call again, and you'll possibly get someone else who will actually help. Be kind, I had to pay for parts sometimes, and most other times, they send out free of charge.

I disagree, the best pistol was the 5906. I like the M&P 2.0, my favorite polymer Striker handguns
@@BrianKern2121all depends on application. 5906 is a load of a gun to carry around. Also, 99% of people aren’t going to practice enough with the high learning curve of that critical first shot.
On a pure build quality, early 5900’s series are definitely better. There is diminishing returns though.

@Joe-hz1nw I carried one as an armored car guard, if I ever ran out of ammo, that old 5906 would make a man fine melee weapon. I'm a 80's kid so the DA/SA wunder 9's are one of my favorite handguns.
@@BrianKern2121 I’m with you, I own several 5906’s among other models and have put probably 15,000-20,000 rounds through them.
The early ones in particular, if you take them apart all the way down to every pin, spring, etc., they are really high quality pieces of kit. The newer ones added more plastic parts but still were high quality.
I like DA/SA guns as well. But, on the clock, even with tons of practice, draw to first shot timing is objectively slower than a SA or striker fired gun with a decent trigger. If I worked a job like you do/did, that speed would be paramount.
Edit: to your point, for a range gun/just a high quality gun to have, I’d rather have the 5906.
For some reason you are like the only person who covers S&W. Which is weird because their stuff just plan works.

I have the 4" 9mm and 4.25" 40 and there amazing guns the 4" 9mm is the carry gun I shoot the best with stock sights

I have the shield plus also and it's the only tiny gun I've ever shot as well as the bigger guns.. I only own 1 micro & 1 subcompact.. the shield + & the CZ P10S and if I need to go deep concealment or wear gym shorts or something the shield + is pretty much always my go to with the 10 Rd mag and it just disappears and super comfortable to carry.. I'm a firm believer that S&W, CZ, HK & gen 5 Glocks (or even the 19X) are the best striker fired handguns you can buy and they are what I trust my life with and train with.. I've shot and owned many but those 4 brands are what I always shoot best and come back to

I kinda thinks this with a mag well eliminates that. I'd be interested in seeing a comparison of this, to one with the MT chunk port for example.

Ok Mrs Outlaw is starting to get really deadly with a good gun in her hands ❤. I always like when she grabbed a gun because it was a good representation of a beginner to average shooter, but now she is def stepping into the above average category!

Smith just knocked it out the park! I've been debating on getting a M&P metal bronze and sending it to floyds customs for porting and slide serrations. Finally the Perfect stock gun. Just wish CZ would wake up and join the carry comp party!!
Regarding CZ, maybe they are. Their products are very cheap in price right now…they may roll it out in the near future.
CZ is my favorite manufacturer, but I totally agree with you.

Do you also have a G19? I’m so used to Glocks, but curious about the obvious value in the p10c. I’m afraid I’d like it and then stare at my g19 mags and holsters like “what are you doing”
I had a p10c before I got a g19. Used to be extremely accurate with it. After using the Glock 19 for a while, was definitely a transition to shoot the cz p10c again. The Glock grip angle is different, so when going back to the cz I was breaking all my shots low. That being said, for the 300-350 the p10c is going for you’re not going to find a better pistol in that price range. I paid 500 for mine and still think it was worth it.

Smith and Wesson doesn’t get the attention they deserve.
They upset a lot of the pro gun community under Bill Clinton w their 'Hillary hole' locking system and things they said in support of that anti gun admin so they waned a lot after.

Man I had an M&P 9L with a Vortex venom and skate grip tape and a bunch of mags with extended base plates and a flared magwell. That thing shot soo well, I totally regret selling it.
I saw one at the local gun shop and fell in love at first sight.

That slide on the standard polymer lower is what I’d want!! Personally Lol 🤷♂️ I’ve got a custom CORE series I’m already doing this too tho. My guy is awesome and cheap AND quick!! Lol $120 for porting, 1 cerekote color, and a 1-3 day turn around time!! Hard to beat Lol

This is awesome news for me Chris. I wanted the Spec series but having to take that comp off to clean it would have been a pain. I love that porting so its built in not adding onto the barrel. Bubba and Mrs. O are showing so much skill now days. Cant wait for the full review on this one. Love all my Smiths. They just keep getting better.
This is one of your best videos, I didn't have to skip the first minute or two to get to the meat. In the past couple of years I have become a S&W fan and carry the Shield Plus Performance Center. I am really interested in this gun and am looking forward to the 1000 round review before I drop 1k on this gun.

S&W has been killing it lately. Just traded in my p365 and running the M&P Shield Plus as my EDC and super happy I did. Another great video broh
Lay your hands on a 4'' Shield Plus if you can. I have the 4'' and 3.1 and they are unmatched for EDC. The Shield Plus with the 4'' barrel shoots better than my glock 19, in a MUCH thinner package. I use the 4'' during winter or when I am wearing jeans. 3.1'' is my basketball/sweatpants gun.
Love my Shield Plus. What a change from the 1.0 to 2.0. I got to try the 3.6" Shield.
@@mikewithers299 It's actually a 4''. It's amazing. Think of the length of a g19 - with the thinness of the Shield, with the ability to run a 10rd sub compact, 13rd sub+extension, and a full 15 rd compact magazine in it. Endless options, and I swear my 4'' Shield Plus Performance Center shoots softer and more accurate than my 19!

@@mikewithers299 They make a 3.6'' "shield EZ". It's a completely different gun. Has a grip safety and is significantly bigger than the Shield Plus. It's made to be an "ez slide rack" version for people with weakness.

Impressive to see how training has strengthened Mama HO's hands and recoil control. Very evident in this vid. PC Shield and Shield plus guy here; great to see the "feature set" Smith is putting on these guns out of the box.

Bought my 2.0 metal earlier this year. Agree with your assessment on the metal frame, although I have easily grown accustomed to the nuance of it and it actually adds a bit of a landmark now for my grip. Great gun. Would love to have the slide and barrel from THIS series. Watching that tiny muzzle flip really wants to make my wallet lighter!!
You're reading my mind. I already have a full size 4.25" 17rd polymer with Apex trigger. Just slap this slide on and presto.

MRS. Honest Outlaw I must say is friggin impressive with her handling and marksmanship. It's a REALLY great feeling to know that if something happens, and your wife is with you, that you know for sure that you have a really capable person as a backup in a tense and scary life or death incident. Biggest problem with S&W is the lack of availability of parts compare to Glock or Sig where you can find barrels, slides, etc. by a bunch. Sig takes it even further and you can order parts right from their website and delivered to your house!
I was just gearing up to get a CZ shadow 2 compact but I'm really liking this M&P... I'm very impressed especially for a carry gun.
It's funny how the comp and porting is amazing, ever manufacture doing it. Back 10 - 15 years all these same people saying you don't need a comp on 9mm and you'll blind your self. I been shooting the glock 19c and other comp guns since I was a kid. M&P is a slept on platform great guns

Man, I thought I was the only one who isn't into Sig's. They're fine guns but are so overpriced it's ridiculous.
@deenyc1049 after the last one that I had, which jammed if not every mag every other mag. Sure I might of tried to break it in a little more bit I got rid of it quick as I could and never went back

Its a shame the metal frames don't feel as nice in the hand ergo-wise as the polymer frames.

I recently dropped my m&p2.0 off at a machinist for an optics cut, serrations, and trigger job. This is everything that I’m having done and more, from the factory. Super cool. Mine is the long slide pro series so not totally apples to apples but this thing is really compelling
I have the 2023 spec series. I really want to carry it but it's pretty big. This looks like a good partner for it.
