Gotta love those black powder guns. The slow Mo on that gun is so satisfying. And that Ballistics Gel shot the temporary wound cavity was unreal, blew the bottom of the table out. Great Video Guys Fantastic work by all of you, again. 😇
Love how scott gives the outro with gav and dan in the background just going full on 'office space' on the table.

I love Dan being the test dummy with random knowledge of weaponry, Gav knowing the science behind catching the shot, and Scott just having the arsenal makes everything come together so we'll. Love their collaborations
I've watched Gav go from playing video games with Rooster Teeth over a decade ago to filming a punt gun in slo motion with Scott of Kentucky Ballistics. My life is complete.
LEEEEETS PLAAAAY
Huh, I never knew Gav had anything to do with Rooster Teeth. Man, it's sad to see what happened to Rooster Teeth after it went corporate. Back in the day they were actually pretty cool.
Gavin had a pretty crazy life. He went from working at a supermarket in a small town in England to meeting the one slo mo expert in the country, becoming his protegé and working in the film industry before he was 20.
Aaaand he was a kid on the RT forums, geeking out about RvB who got the attention of the RT founders and pretty soon was in the US directing a season of that show. And then he also was at the achievement hunters during a time when let's play absolutely popped off.
Oh and slomoguys was originally founded cause he needed a visa for the US and becoming an internet celebrity seemed like the easiest route. Which it was!
Now Gavin has survived RT, is probably a millionaire in his own right and still does fun content with all the friends he met along the way. Plus a beautiful gf and a few cats.
@@kirbyjoe7484
@@kirbyjoe7484 eh. It's easy to blame it on corporate but...they tried chasing trends, didn't make it work, and they put too much money into ideas, hoping to hit tv spots. If it had worked, it would have been great for them, but just sadly never hit it.
Yes, warner bros owned it, but it's unclear how much that actually played into those particular decisions, other than giving them the access to those funds to overreach with.
There were other issues with the corporate side for sure, but maybe not those ones..
Gav has gone from a lad to a gent.

It's worth pointing out that Scott actually has a really good slomo camera. He gets better shots than any of the dedicated gun tubers.
He's just not going to compete with the specialists on it.
Scott's camera shoots 1000fps.
Gavin's can shoot 10 000fps at 4k, and the lower the res, the better. Shooting 200 000fps is not easy, and the Phantom TMX can go up to 1.7 million FPS if configured right.
@@mozzjones6943 even then, you don’t actually buy a Phantom, you rent it. Pretty sure Gav and Dan just keep renewing the rent on it

Love when Scott brings out the punt gun, anyone ever wonder what the recoil would do to a ballistic zombie? I don’t know why I thought of that today😂
When punt guns go boom?
Damn that first shot hit the ground before hand and still went through with ease.
I was just about to say that but I had to check if someone else saw the same as I did definitely bounced before impact on first shot and went through like glass was a peice of cardboard ( was going to say paper, glass is thicker)
@richardfrost7575 to be fair I don't think the paper vs cardboard meant much to fury the punt gun
4:14 time something definitely bounced pretty sure it's the ball then goes through, then bank, impact etc. Up and over. Freaking awesome 😂😂😂❤❤❤😊
Don't think so guys, may be the wadding. Watch the first slo mo shot close, something separates from the ball and bounces, it's seen again skipping left of the glass, after the ball has punched through.
@RustyRoves if that was wadding then it hit the ground really hard for wadding. That thing put up a pretty big dust cloud.
LOL, love your collabs Scott.

15:13 Achivement Hunter Gavin at it again
Excellent example of a 17th century artilleryman's grazing shot at 4:12. The ball struck the ground about 6' in front of the target.
You should do a situational video on home defense and all you have is your 4 bore. See how many walls/houses it'll go through.

Best intro first minute ever!!!
Had to go back and watch Gav and Dan blast their sound effects a few times was so great!
Dan’s was the best by far.
I just want to point out that the first shot actually hit the ground BEFORE it hit the glass. You can see it skip off of the ground at 4:12-4:13 so it still DECIMATED that glass even AFTER losing some force by striking the ground.
Now that's an unstoppable bullet!
That wasn't the primary ball that hit the ground. The main projectile remains completely airborne prior to impact...
and these where used to hunt ducks
Watch closer, the bullet doesnt hit the ground, im assuming what holds it in the barrell does
@@McGusder How big do you need the duck to be before there isn't any duck left after the impact? Unless you are shooting ducks a mile and a half away...
@@showjack1109 The question is...just how many ducks can you vaporise in a single shot? With the amount of shot you can get in one of those things...Im guessing dozens
Ok. Scott has the firepower, Dan and Gav have the frame power and the final product is beautiful thing! Well done guys!
Off to the Slo Mo Guys channel now.
Once again the Slo Mo Guys making that look easy. But getting some of those shots in that light with the fireball trying to wash everything out was really impresive. Almost as impressive as the holes made in that glass. Wow.
Dan's so cool when he's hanging out with Gav... then he hangs out with Scott and looks like a massive nerd :D I love all three of these people.
Dan is like Hannah Montana. The best of both worlds
I love the chaos of the two of them bashing the table in the background. great coda. :D
The first shot hit the ground first and still did that kind of damage...EPIC
"Yes, strike force glass. What do you have for punt gun prevention? Huh, whats a punt gun you ask?" hehehehe
"Oh, you know. Just a shotgun rated for ducks. Nothing special."
Lmao!!!! Great.
this is gonna be an awesome video. And dude I really needed this right now I just got through something incredibly stressful. Thank you Scott!
I just love that the first shot actually ricocheted *off the ground* and still sailed straight through the glass. Reminded me of the Dambusters in WWII.
it did not ricoched off the ground
@@mike-kg2op There's a wad (or something) that follows the ball, and hits the ground; first time through, I thought it was the shot, too.
I saw the wad bounce off the ground
If you zoom in you can see it definetly hit the ground then the glass.
i played it back at .25 speed and zoomed in to the shot. that was 100% the Wad hitting the ground

Those close-ups of Fury firing with 4 4-bore rounds looks like battleship Iowa is firing again, holy fireball!
I know that modern precision is better from a tactics and efficiency perspective but there is just something to be said about a cannon that can shake the ocean itself.
The power in that projectile is absolutely insane. Just did some math and found that if that projectile travels the speed of a 9mm bullet (1200 feet per second) that projectile (assuming it weighs 1 pound as mentioned) would carry 30.000J of energy on impact. To put that into perspective a 50 BMG 647 grain bullet traveling at 3000 feet per second carries around 18.000J. I just guessed a number for the speed, what would other people here think that projectile travels at?
If we assumed that I travelled as fast as a 50 BMG (Which it doesn't) It would carry 190.000 J of energy instead. Could be nice to get a reading of how fast that thing fires so we can make a calculation of its kinetic energy.
EDIT:
Just did some more digging and I found a muzzle velocity of 1400 Feet per second from a British gun firing a similarly sized projectile. This speed would give the projectile a kinetic energy of around 41.000 J
The projectile is definitely sub-sonic(no shock cone on the slow mo shots), so under ~350 feet per second. At 1lb and 300 fps the ball has ~1900J of energy. However with a little more than 10 times the mass of a .50 BMG sheer weight kept the projectile together and moving forward through the glass.
@@BrandonsUsername Where did you get 350 FPS for subsonic?
Depending on conditions, the sound barrier is somewhere around ~1100 FPS.
As for the mass, typical .50 BMG is 750 grains & this is 7000 grain, so it's a little less than 10 times the mass, pretty much 9 & 1/3 heavier.
@@BrandonsUsername My guess is he got from m/s, because when I google the speed of sound I get 343 m/s at 20°C. So maybe that's the where he got it. Also, nice spot on it being subsonic hadn't thought of using that as an indicator of speed. I just pulled numbers from random rounds. But assuming 1000 ft/s we get 21.000 J of energy, which is still substantial. Mass is mass, but maybe the round shape as opposed to the pointy shape, helps it stay together. But, then again the pointy bullet does concentrate the energy on a smaller surface, thus increasing the force on that now smaller area.
Punt Gun VS. Chronograph, yes we need this.
I’m trying to figure out what # buckshot he makes by using the 4 bore slugs but I can’t find anything nearly big enough
Always love it when you team up with Gav and Dan
5:25 birb scared for his life💀🦅
Edit: ok how did this get a heart again? It’s a dang bird in the corner
The muzzle gasses did go through the spaces between the 4 bore slugs. This is why shotgun loads have a cup.
At about 12:05, it appears that two of the slugs go over the left side of the berm.
The intros always get me. And the little hesitation with Gavin’s name for the wrench was great!
