Serious history made today as Sydney is made the first ever two time squire. Congrats, kid.
Wouldn't that be a page?
Page was a young boy that was serving at the court of local ruler or a knights younger helper that was learning basics of being a knight, before advancing to the squire at the age of 14-15.
Squire was a knights adjutant, that was learning from knight how to fight, ride and dance.
Knight was a man who served the local ruler as an equestrian warrior. At the age of 21 the squire passed knighthood ceremonies, during which he took oaths of loyalty to the knight's code, the church and the local ruler who carried him to knighthood. He received a knight's belt and golden spurs as symbols of his status and the land he was to look after.
ok, i can never remember which one is first
Look out Torrie your replacement is here.
I swear, she's been squir'd like every single video he's did with her in it. lol
Never underestimate David's voice. He doesn't write anything that he can't perform live. He is an outstanding vocalist

Yep, the rest of the band had to convince him to try out a guitar solo.
I'm pretty sure Brad Delson did the same when Linkin Park started including solos
@@iliketrains3495 Many nu metal bands started playing solos after their first albums. Slipknot was getting technical just after Iowa.

David has actually acknowledged that disturbed's songs sound similar. He finds it kinda funny and even thinks of it as a joke.

I've always considered them a solid gateway band for someone looking for heavier music. Nothing special, but not terrible, either. Skipped my senior prom to see them play a festival in Memphis some years ago and they put on a good show.
Yes, finally someone that sees eye to eye with me, i had this with disturbed and system of a down, thats what Got me into heavier stuff
Disturbed was definitely my biggest gateway to metal as well
Same
Thats what bums me out about snobby metal fans who sneer at more hybrid poppy or mainstream bands: Every band is someone's first band, and maybe some 10 year old kid doesn't need to be starting off on the sludgiest doomiest brain crushingest things out there.
HuginMunin Exactly. And tbh if it weren’t for these newer bands I believe there’d be fewer death metal fans because they never found a band that bridged rock to metal
Rock fans are the people who diss disturbed for sounding the same but shit on Linkin Park for changing their style
I didn't listen to LP after they changed their style but then I heard Castle of Glass on Spotify and I really liked it I got pissed that I didn't hear it and listened to more new songs until after Chester died
RIP
@@Super-wx6br people really hated LP for changing their style..no one took a step back to actually listen to the new songs to what they are...they were immediately pissed its not rock and missed on some really goos songs...if u just listen to the songs to what they are with no prejudice...theyre really good well produced professional songs made with true passion and not just sellout pop tracks
I diss Linkin Park because I think they are not very good at any point.

David Draiman is a classically trained singer!!
So first off, I’m a huge fan of Disturbed, and so I might have some bias, but here’s my problem with the “Every song by Disturbed sounds the same” complaint.
Disturbed has their own sound. It’s a simple sound sure, but it’s still their sound. So yes, most songs will sound similar to each other... But guess what... that’s the point of a band. Eminem will sound like Eminem 90% of the time. Metallica will sound like Metallica 90% of the time.
Let’s not even get into the genre of pop and shit where almost every song by some girl singer sounds the same as the other one. My point is, that a bands songs are supposed to sound similar, at least in my opinion they are.
And on the flip side, when Disturbed does try to sound different, they get berated and told that they should stick with their old sound.
Then again... I could just be a fanboy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about
You’re right.
I know right? This is what I've been telling my friend group whenever we listened to Are You Ready and A Reason to Fight. Literally after Are You Ready my buddy goes "it's indistinguishable from their other shit" then a week later A Reason to Fight drops and like a hypocrite the same guy complains that it isn't the Disturbed he's used to...and now I see it all over the internet, the same bull shit every where I turn. You can't bitch about them sounding the same, then bitch about them trying something different. Pick one or the other, and actually contribute something to the discussion, or just shut up. I'm fine with discussing the criticism and hearing what you have to say, but when people act like nothing pleases them, I lose my ability to stay civil.
Caleb Reyna
Yeah. And Are You Ready actually sounds kind of different from some of their older music.

I agree with everything except you claiming most Metallica songs sound similar, that's just straight up wrong.
Jbe0. I was beginning to think I was the only one thought this way.👍

Mike: "Every Disturbed song sounds the same"
Gets to the last song that sounds different
"Nope don't like it, doesn't sound like Disturbed"
Which is it? You can't have it both ways.
They could still to a heavier sound to avoid the awkwardness Mike complained about without most of their discography having extremely similar riffing, tempo, use of vocals. Bands can have a sound, Disturbeds is just extremely narrowly defined, and I say this as a guy who really likes a lot of disturbed
Exactly.. i was laughing at this guy after the hypocrisy.. this dude is just a hater and can't appreciate good music for what it is.. music is meant to make you feel.. you dont have to dissect every song and think because it's simple it isn't good..
Have you seen The Greatest Hit of Disturbed by Non random nonsense? That shit is hilarious!
Mike needs to comment on this !!!!
Got to see them 2 years ago, pretty awesome show! I’d highly recommend seeing them
I saw disturbed live. It was great! I also grew up with disturbed, me and my mom listen to it in the car or when where just sitting around. I have to say indestructible is one of my favorites.
I seen them at Welcome to Rockville about two years ago in Jacksonville and I'm here to tell everyone that Disturbed is really good at cried energy during a concert
they need to do dream theater
I wish they would've shown the sound of silence cover😓
And Land of Confusion!
And «the light»
Acording to him it's "far over acclaimed"
That would've been a way better trip out for them than the last song they actually played. Plus, it shows David Draiman's vocal prowess so beautifully.
Disturbed's cover of Simon & Garfunkel's Sounds of Silence makes up for every one of their songs that sounds like the last one. Simply epic performance by Draiman.
Watched this in 360p. Still totally worth it
Disturbed is what got me into metal, used to rock their shit on my sound system in my room when I was like 9. Looking back now as a 17 year old I'm kinda wondering what I was thinking
Gonna be 18 but I still love them.
Whoops.
I grew up on Korn and Metallica and Disturbed and Tool mainly, but I was happy to find all of the vast choices of metal to listen to, although those four will hold a dear place in my heart lol
I’m 18 and I think they are pretty good.
I still enjoy their music (mostly because of David Draimans vocals) but just not as much as I did when I was younger
David's vocals are the worst part, though. lol
Dude you’re so close to 100k and that’s fucking awesome. I found your content from a fine bros react and have been watching all of your content since.

Disturbed is decent. I would say aggressively average, really striving their hearts out reaching for that okay sound. Like, if they were a color, they'd be a sort of angry beige?
Best comment.
Lol
This is the funniest thing I've read all day
Ooh, I was nodding along with your comment, and then the next line is just 'angry beige?' and I lost it hahaa.
I want angry beige the next time i paint my house.
"We get it, You're Edgy" She is an example of Parenting Done Right.
Probably not
Also the 'production value' line
Disturbed is what got me into metal when I was only listening to rap in high school. So I recognize they aren’t the greatest band today but they will have a place in my heart for bringing me to rock.
Up until now i always thought that me not being able to understand the lyrics (60% of the time i’d say) was completely due to the fact that i’m not a native english speaker... but, considering the amount of times i’ve heard the snob mentioning that, maybe many songs are just confusing... like, even to americans/british people/whatever (?).
Like this is such an interesting thing for me, it puts everything under another prospective
Disturbed was my gateway into the rest of the Metal world so it kind of has a soft spot in my heart.
I will go out and say that the ooh ah ah ah does have an effect on the album. But live it hits pretty damn close, but I would guess that is due to having to perform that part over and over.
THANK YOU MIKE. THANK YOU MY MANZ. THEIR COVER OF SOUND OF SILENCE IS OVERLY ACCLAIMED

0:41 I was a youngin sitting in my dads truck when this song came on to 99.9 in WA. My dad was hyping this song up, telling me how much I was gonna love it. We pull through a stop sign (came to a stop first, our turn to go), we hear “OH WAH AH AH AH” and right as the rest of the band kicks in, we got t-boned by a day drunk driver. Thank the cosmic entity Nyarlathotep that we were in a big ol GMC truck and what hit us was a tiny little Civic.

Hey, really enjoy your videos, and I appreciate how you know your music, hard to find that with musicians. And being a fellow left guitarist, I respect ya. Rock on! 🤘
The cover of "Sound of Silence" is my favorite from Disturbed
Hey, Mike! I remember how much you enjoyed the classic Mongolian music you reacted to a while back and I was thinking if you would do more traditional music from other countries. As a Portuguese, I think it'd be cool to see you react to some "fado", a Portuguese music genre.
Fado is a genre of music native to some neighborhoods in the city of Lisbon (Portugal's capital) It is usualy played with an acoustic guitar and a portuguese guitar. It has a sad tone to it. Most songs are either about the city (what it is and what it used to be), longing for the past, or worrying about the future. Fun fact: the word "fado" means destiny.
If you're interested in checking it out here's some artist suggestions:
- Amália Rodrigues (the queen of fado)
- Carlos do Carmo (some say if Amália is the queen, then Carlos is the king of fado)
- Ana Moura (a modern fado singer. I think you'll pick up on slight differences between her type of music and the others)
- Mariza (some call her "the new Amália")
Here's a website where you can read more about it:
www.lisbonlux.com/fado/
Hope to see you soon, rock on!
I generally prefer the Coimbra variety myself
I appreciate the reading plug! You officially have, a librarian stamp of approval. Show this at your next visit, and your overdue fines will be reduced by half.
your final thoughts are perfect Mike. XD
I love Disturbed, but I think that is just because they were a gateway into metal for me. They were really the first thing I thought of when I thought heavy metal as a kid.
I wish they would have had the Teens and up react to Disturbed. There are so many other songs by them that not child friendly or at least borderline not child friendly, like Inside the Fire and My Child to name two off the top of my tired head.
I have every album from them (basic) so far, decent as a whole but stale in the long run. Not sure I'll pick up the newest album when it pops up. They'll have to wow me like Amon Amarth and Tyr did when I first discovered them to get me to rush out anytime soon.
I am a fan of DISTURBED beginning when I turned 60... because I can understand what he is singing... the lyrics are clearer to me than most metal
Ill be honest i found ya through one of ur react videos but i really enjoy your opinions which have plenty of experience behind them from the sound of things, im also a pretty big disturbed fan but i definitely find myself thinking all the time "Oh! Its this song" and then part way through its nope maybe this one, sometimes im halfway through the song and 4-5 songs in my head before i get the right one
I don't mind if they sound the same as long as I like the sound. Disturbed is pretty kick ass.
I've always wanted to know what you think of breaking Benjamin
The final thoughts cracked me up :D
Love your vids
When you got close to 100k and need few more subs
Haven't watched the video yet but let me guess. He isn't a fan of the band and makes a point to unnecessarily repeat it throughout but appreciates David's vocal ability. I feel like I'm close.
In regards to the sound made at the beginning of The Sickness, David Draiman had surgery and afterwards was able to make that sound in the booth. This was also the reason why he was able to make the sound at the beginning of The Animal.
Even Draiman didn't take the o wa a a seriously he just goofingly put it in. He even jokes that it will be on his grave.
Even though I think Disturbed is a decent band, a lot of their songs do sound very similar.
Perfect Insanity is pretty good
the music video of Stricken was filmed in the same abandoned hospital which had some scenes in a Nightmare on Elm Street.
Do you think you could do some sort of band review series? kind of like you do with this and taking about the bands well listing to some of there music ex. but just more in depth?
To me disturbed are great no matter what anyone says. They have their own style and sound, i mean think a band that sound like disturbed, unique riffs, unique vocals, simple yes, repetitive yes but unique. They have their own mascot(witch is one of the best bands mascots ever), their own symbol and the way they treat their fans like the whole fanbase is a big family or something. Disturbed are great!
Disturbed was a band that I liked, but I didn't like a lot of their songs. But the ones I did like, I liked a lot. Their Cover Songs are good, but I always felt the original ones were better. For me, sameness between songs wasn't so bad, but sameness within songs was an issue I had with some of their songs. Indestructible is a song that I've listened to a few times, and it was always too repetitive to me. I swear they say the chorus way too much. If the song was shorter, it wouldn't be so bad, but I think it goes on for like 5 minutes.
Though I was aware of Down With the Sickness, Ten Thousand Fists was the first album I heard of theirs and the first I fell in love with, so it holds a treasured place in my heart. Sure it all sounded the same, it was coherent as an album and many tracks were catchy and listenable. I especially loved the title track, Pain Redefined, Sons of Plunder, and Guarded. Solid album.
one of my most loved bands of all times

I like The Night, Stricken and Decadence because of NFS MW childhood nostalgia. All the rest by them is meh for me. David Dreiman is a good singer tho.

You say their music sounds the same, you can say that about all bands, look at probably the most well known: ACDC, all their music could come from the same album, but its what they do and they do it well, same goes for Disturbed. Dont hate on them for having " their " sound, all most every band had their sound, Metallica, Iron Maiden, they have a sound unique to them, its not a bad thing.
