    That is such an iconic lyric. When I first heard the song I was mesmerized by it, truly. When “the movement you need is on your shoulder “ came out I thought omg that’s exquisite, never to be forgotten. Bravo Beatles 👏

      "The movement you need is on your shoulder; to me, it always sounded as if he was trying to take away the solemnity of the 'cool' guys. In other words, you don't need to be involved in any political or snobbish movement. You just need to dance, move your shoulders, be authentic, be yourself. 'For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool by making his world a little colder.'"

      @@JuanJacintoyeah, I always thought of simply schrug the shoulder as if you don't care about other people's opinion, live your life, let it be. You were made to go out and get her, "her" being the life, get her, if you feel pain, refrain, don't carry the world upon the shoulder, live your life, quite smth like that, you know.
      Gosh, I literally got shivers down the spine throughout this writing, I always imagine the Beatles singing to me, telling me tales, advices, I listen to them since my 10s and now I'm 22. I progressively listened to their albums by cronological order as I was growing too, their first three albums between 10-14, Beatles For Sale, Help, Rubber Soul between 14-16, Revolver, SGT Pepper's and Magical Mystery Tour between 16-17 and their final albums between 16-18. I've always felt them like my personal and closest friends, I simply cannot put into words how much emotional I get when talking and listening to them until this day, I'd say my relation with them is much more intimate and important than any person I know, call family or friend.

      @@lpedr0li always looked at it as "The Movement" as in the "Peace Movement" that john and yoko were so involved with at the time. They were such strong activists in every sense of that word. Infelt like that lyric was indicating to johns son..who the song was written for.. that he neednt spend time looking for a cause to take up or reason for suffering in the world... it was all right in front of him. he had been born with it right on his shoulder. • @gvgv3515
      @gvgv3515 29 днів тому

      He did indeed! His problem was hiding his inner pain which he did very well using sarcastic humor, stubbornness, and drugs....lots of drugs!! His early music was genius and rivaled Paul! The pairing of him and Paul was a match made in music heaven!! They belted out song after song and they were classics before they even recorded!! Then they stopped touring after this album and things drastically changed! Drugs started dominating the writing and the mood changed from the fun loving band that woo'ed the world, to a more cynical feel, critical of the world and actually adding to the angst of the decade!! If you really listen to the music from here on, it's Paul who still has that early spark still in his music! John was basically documenting his drug trips to music by now, and George was starting his Indian music obsession. You can argue the diversity, but they seemed less of a real band and more session players who wrote their own material.
      I realize that this is just MY opinion, but it's the overall feeling I'm left with when listening to all the music up to Rubber Soul! From here, I just pick and choose the few tracks from each album.

    Wow, thanks for sharing this I never heard him talk about that before that's really special... just goes to show you the magic they shared which we all enjoy to this very day! I love Paul's honesty about these things I gain more respect for him his time goes on the more I learn about him and also I mourn the loss of John even deeper thinking what could have been...

    And one of the really great things about Paul is, how he is and always has been - being the genius he is - so open to suggestions of others.

    One of my favorite songs 🎵. In Junior high it was always played at our dances. Of course this was back when any slow dance was done with the box step. 1. 2..3..4..repeat! Chairs lined up on both sides of cafeteria. Boys one side and girls on the other!! OMG..THE 60'S!! I was so happy to move on to High School!!😂😂😂
