    Wow and exact same wrist size as me. I’m looking at this as a step up from the Hamilton khaki field auto 38 mm. I love the smaller size for an every day wearer. You might have just sold me

    Wonderful watch. I own exactly this version and I am just in love with it. The dial is fantastic, I really like the bracelet and precision is on top.
    Longines is killing it at the moment. I was between this spirit 37mm, a tudor blackbay 58 and Omega Aquaterra. I choosed this one and I am extremely happy with it.

    This is a cracking watch. I have the black dial 37mm and this is the only watch I wear in rotation along with my Sinn 356 Sa. This will stay with me until I croake.
    The AR coating makes the crystal disappear but on my watch it started showing blemishes rather quickly to the point it started to bother me. I had the coating removed and it's perfect now. The underside coating does the job quite well.
    Good video, keep it up!

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  5 місяців тому +1

      I did a video showing how to remove AR coating, I did the same to my Sinn EZM1 a few years back , The 356 is a also cracking watch you have good taste Sir

    I had my heart set on a Grand Seiko (SBGX261) as my grail watch. This is the only watch I’ve seen in that price bracket that has me second guessing… it won’t be until next year I pick it up. So I suppose I have time to think lol!

    I think Longines did a great job with this. The 40mm is awesome but I prefer the 37mm sizing plus the adjustable clasp and date placement. The only change that I don't care for is the move from sandblasted to polished hands - which makes it far less legible. Aside from that minor complaint, this is a fantastic watch.

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  5 місяців тому +1

      I really like the newer polished hands personally , they look kinder sharper more detailed if that makes any sort of sense

  • @whereRbearsTeeth

    I’d go with the 40 simply because it has a screw down crown, unlike the 37.

    Looking to pick this up in the near future, do you say the AR coating on the upper crystal will pick up scratches easily overtime? What was your experience?

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  5 місяців тому

      Yep its on both sides so it is possibly to scratch it but its much tougher than you think and if over the years you do mark it, you can always polish of the coating

    I have a 7inch wrist and I’m debating a lot between the 37 and 40. Mainly due to the lug to lug distance for the 40 being too long and the lug to lug being too small with the 37 and making the 37 “small” on my wrist overall.

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  Місяць тому

      With any other brand it would be an easy question to answer but as you say the lug to lug size is a strange one, I think the only way is to try them both, sorry I couldn't be more help Wongo

    Thanks for the great review. I would prefer the 37mm. Can you please tell what the crystal diameter is?

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  5 місяців тому

      Ive just checked and its about 30/30.5mm its to tell exactly due to its design

  • @johnanth
    @johnanth 2 місяці тому

    One thing you didn't mention regarding the 3 o'clock date on the 40mm version: notice how it's closer to the hands and as a result, not super aligned to the numerals. It's because the movement is basically too small for the watch. This is true on many watches but it's good to see it being perfectly aligned here. This movement is derived from one made in the 80s, when 34-36mm watches were standard for men.

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  2 місяці тому

      The movement L888.4 is based on the ETA2892 which is a great movement I personally prefer the 2892 over the L888.4 as it has a higher beat rate (8bps) the moment is used in many watches one being the Sinn U50 come to mined. its a solid movement 👍🏻

    • @johnanth
      @johnanth 2 місяці тому +1

      @@ClickSpringReview Interesting, is there a reason why? It's established that higher beat rates don't correlate with accuracy, plus the L888 lasts longer and (at least in theory) is less prone to magnetic interference (though I also don't think this is a concern for most) by using silicone parts.

    • @ClickSpringReview
      @ClickSpringReview  2 місяці тому

      I do prefer a higher beat as the second hour just guides round the dial that much smother plus the ETA2824 is a joy to work on John ps you are correct about accuracy 👍🏻

    37mm for me

  • @Valera_Scotland
    @Valera_Scotland 18 днів тому +1

    I have the same wrist size and love smaller watches that I've owned in the past (seiko from the 70s, op36, iwc mark xvi, Aqua terra 38mm, Hamilton pilot pioneer, smiths PRS-29A, casio W59, CWC G10 and so on)....
    So I would go for 37mm...100%
    And it's on my short list now, along with Sinn 556i.
    The question though - if it's to be my one and only daily, would YOU go for black or silver?
    I used to want a silver Datejust 36mm, but most of my past watches have been black...
    I'm leaning towards black, but not 100% sure

      @@ClickSpringReview Fair enough Barry, my reason was to save people money on watches and sharing a good website to save money nothing more than that, I'm also a keen photographer and point people with similar interests to a good photographic website, where people can save thousands. Swiss watches Direct are a bonafide website great reviews and one can save thousand of pounds on watches. They are, or were sponsors for the world snooker championships recently. Check them out, they have no middle man, so you can save hundreds and in some case over £1K on watches, with the usual UK warranty. up to 5 years. I bought a Breitling some years ago and saved over £1K I think it was around £1200.
