Brilliant. Love it I've been hairdressing 35 years... you never stop learning. love this technique. We use to do a similar thing in the 1980's very cool.
80s cuts and layering are so decades friendly. Just master 80s hairdo for long and short. You'll have a line outside your hair salon! Versatile for wearers!
I did this on my self. Came out a liiiiiiiittle wonky in the back but it still looks good until I have time to do it full-out and I’m relieved of dead ends. Thank you 🌹🙏🏼

So layers in curls actually *does* work 😏 Everybody swears it doesn’t, but I’ve been cutting my curls similar to this for years and always get compliments
Oh my God I wish you were my instructor and beauty School. I never learned these these fabulous techniques and I've been doing hair forever. Wayne can you do me a favor and show a close-up of your fingers when you do the 45° angle?
There’s a reason we don’t teach these types of techniques in Cosmetology school. And there’s a reason you shouldn’t do this in the salon as well. Both being that it’s not an accurate cutting technique. You’d be botching your clients hair, leaving them with uneven layers. Not a great way to build a curly hair clientele.
I'd love to see him work w 3B or 3C hair. I keep my hair super short bc I HATE the triangle. And that's the look most stylists who specialize in tighter curl patterns tend to accentuate.
I was beginning to think I was crazy. There is a substantial chunk missing in the middle of the back of her hair. Maybe it's underneath something but I don't think I would want that.
I’m Brazil with curly hair . There this a very normal hair cut called LAYERED or ( degrade) but I’m here in the USA for 16 years and couldn’t find a hairdresser that could do the correct way on my . The way you did is exactly the same way the hairdresser do in Brazil as there curly hair is more common.
Is this only to adjust the shape/bounce? Because it doesn't look like you can get to all the hair this way, so what about dead ends? Do you cut the locks you missed one by one?
Press it straight first to make sure it is just right. This is a way to do a Wham Bam hair cut. This is fine if you are in a marathon. But no one should pay to have that done this way. That is like building a wall without measuring it. If we can not build buildings without sharp blueprints then we shouldn’t do this…This is a quick method that will be botchy and choppy should she straighten her hair with a dryer. I guess it is fine if it is free.
But if she always wears her hair natural, then that doesn't matter. My daughter has beautiful, natural, curls in her hair, and she never straightens it, and rarely blows it dry, she just brushes it and then turns her head over and scrunches it with her hands and she's done, so this cut would definitely work on her! This technique is used after you do a basic haircut but then you want your hair to have that rounded look instead of it laying flat against your head!
I have naturally curly hair. I am a hairdresser. You can get ok results the FIRST time...but how do you get the same results when she comes back the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time??? Yikes!
@@Septemberfarms Thanks, I am pretty sure the technique itself is good but I messed it up. The pieces in the front turned out well and curls were bouncy, but the back was not looking right 😆
I can NOT get anyone to cut my curly hair so it doesn't look like a triangle 😢. It's not even that long! I've even shown pictures of my own hair with : YES, and NO. Why?
I’m not a stylist but I feel like if he would have wet the hair and combed it out before each cut her hair would at least be even. He cut her hair sloppy.
@@jflores1wetting curly hair before you cut it is the worst thing you could do because you simply cannot see what the hair shape looks like anymore. Wet curly hair is flatter and longer than dry, it looks like a different head of hair. When it dries it puffs out and it shrinks A LOT, so you will inadvertently cut off WAY too much. It must be cut dry so you can see what you’re doing. And making it “even” is irrelevant since some sections will curl tighter than others, so they will look shorter.
Perfect!!! That's exactly the kind of cut I want but no one ever nails it!
I LOVE his hair cutting techniques! I have learned more tips from Wayne than any stylist....he is the BEST!! 😊👍❤️

I wish I could see it from different angles, it's hard for me to see if you cut it in an angle or straight, I do love the result though.
I never comb my hair. Can’t figure out the 45 degree angle from his demonstration.
Where do I find a stylist like this?

Yes, I won't straighten my hair - why? I don't wear it that way. You should stick to straight hair if you're a stylist.
I’m pivot point trained and this gave me a heart attack. The sections don’t blend together at all😮
I have naturally curly hair. I am a hairdresser. You can get ok results the FIRST time...but how do you get the same results when she comes back the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time??? Yikes!
It’s such a lazy and inaccurate technique. I’m Vidal Sassoon and Pivot Point trained, and this video made me crack up.
You seriously have me considering wearing my natural curls! 😂
But how does he make sure its even?
He doesn't!
That's why it looks like a big chunk is missing out of the back. Weird cut imo.
You don’t. It’s not an accurate haircut. So there’s no way to cross check from your guide, when there is no guide.
You are great with curls!
whats the name of this cut pleassse
The “don’t try this at home OR in the salon” haircut
This is it! My haircut!!!!! I need it soooo badly!!! But who can do it on me????? I’m in Israel and I thank you so much for this!! ❤❤❤
Excellent!! But is it a $400 4 min cut??
I was going to say that same. Curly cuts are a scam
The cut is for stripe in the center and when is it for stripe on one side?
brilliant ✨👌🏻
Wow you're good!
I have curly hair and would not want this done to mine. While wet stretch it and cut in thin layers for the same or better result.
Where is your studio?
Was asking myself the same…
What about for looser patterns (wavy hair)?
Is this called angles in motion??
How do you cut bangs on curly hair thanks
He has another video where he shows it- not curtain bangs but a long side curly bang
Amazing
