I don’t like these comments saying it doesn’t look good. The point of (and the title) of the video are not to STYLE hair like y’all are saying. It’s to CUT the hair and not get a triangle shape. I think it was a good explanation. I watched this because I have curly hair and it helped me find out more about what I was looking for, which is how to cut my own hair without a lot of heaviness on the bottom. Atleast he has a video on curly hair a lot of hair videos on here don’t take into account curly hair they only give tutorials on straight hair 🤷🏻♀️
Hi Paul! I really enjoyed this technique because it’s quick and layers the hair just enough. Some clients are usually afraid of really short top layers since curly hair gets even shorter as it dries. It gives movement and dimension without taking too much length off ! Lots of love from Chile 🇨🇱 ❤
Thanks so much for this! I've seen your rounded cut for curly hair and I like how you explained the "how's" and "whys" of the hair's behavior. Keep these up! I'm subscribing :)
My hair at last!!!!! Edit: I cut my hair myself using only a rubber band with which I tie all my hair and then cut it and it suits me very well. Luckily it's not a lot of hair!!
It's just as much about what you leave on the head as what you take off. Curly girls don't need massive inches off in order to get a nice shape. It's always about expanded shape, and moisture in the curls to activate them.
I'm a female barber-tician who's got mid shoulder blade curls, who's client base is about 80 % men, but I also 15% women & 5%kids. Always looking for new tricks to use on clients 💚✌🏻 also, I have a hard time letting anyone cut my curls, I do it mostly my self, so thanks for the tips for my self too ❤ 😊😊
Those curly mannequins aren't cheap. He's trying to get a bunch more cuts out of the investment. You can definitely clean up the perimeter to determine your length , first, if you wanted to, and then follow the sectioning and layering tutorial. You'll get a really nice shape. Lots of curly clients are terrified of the length being taken up too much.
Still someone who doesn’t understand our curly hair. All you did was shape the bottoms of each layer. This gives no lift to the top or center of the hair. Graduated layers works better.
This just happened to me today. Thinning shears, nothing done to my layers, my hair is a mess. I have bottom layers on the side that look awful, trying not to look like sideshow bob.
Thank you for the video. I do find it hard to tell what you are doing seeing the mannequins hair is so dark. I think it is easier to see if the hair is a lighter colour.
Wish I could have seen different angles of the cut only because Im just a Joe smo lol. I guess I was looking more for a step by step tutorial that showed everything.
If you have so many clients you give this cut to, why didn't you use one of them? This looks terrible. There's zero volume. We curlies are ALWAYS looking for volume.

Thank you Haley, I appreciate you understanding the videos concept 🌞🙏
Totally!
Форму треугольника должна была дать стрижка,без укладки!))
This!!!!!
Perfect for trimming my own hair at home. Thank you.

I just gave myself this cut, and I LOVE the results! Thank you!
Please use one with maybe a chestnut color. This black was hard to see on video.
Make pic bigger.
That is the comment I left as well. I found it very difficult to see. Even if a different coloured comb was used.
@@seeleygirl6178 I did and it did not help.
Thank you for a curly hair video. Great class.
It's unfortunate the angel of the camera didn't show how you section the hair as you cut.

I wish more stylist would show how to do the cut with a side part. The middle part is easy. Side part is more challenging
Agreed
thanks for doing curly hair layers! this is exactly what I wanted to see.
Thankyou ! Maybe using a blond wig will see better ! Just a suggestion....

I tried this and the back of my hair is badly uneven
@@jadaday2569this video is for hairdressers

Next time use a blonde manikin cause we ain’t see nothing really 😫
Thank you so much! This was exactly what i was looking for!
My sister says she wants to cut it and im always up for a challange. Thanks for showing me this
Can we make layers like that for short curly hair?
The final result is disappointing to be honest...
The mannequin wasn't the best, I'll try get a better condition curly mannequin for the next one.
@@PaulWattsHair why blame the Mannequin
@@Poppi_Weezbecause the mannequin was horrible with awful hair.
Why be rude? @@Poppi_Weez
If you have nothing nice to say, why say anything at all?
Wish me luck! Gonna try this on myself after a little more research.
Is this hair wet/damp or dry while cutting?
two questions- was the hair damp or was it just damp with product? Why didn't you trim the length and just the layers?
Title says he’s teaching us layers.
Thank you for this very useful video !
Does this work on shorter hair?
I wish I could have learned more than just sectioning here.
Thanks for trying
I wish you could cut my hair. I'm so scared to go to the salon coz they messed it up everytime. Haven't gotten a haircut in 9 years.
I’m already lost. 2:23
Are you a hairdresser?
Thank you for sharing ❤
Luv this! Thanks😊
Thanks Alex
I like this but I don't get why he never cuts the bottom and it is all straggly at the bottom
Try and re use the mannequins as much as I can.
She asked him to before he started

So like, how do I get a hair stylist to cut my hair like this? Lol I wish I could just send them this video.
Looks like a great cut! I agree that the mannequin has terrible hair (very little and hard to see). I have about 4 x more hair than that doll, lol!
Brilliant!!
Hi where are you based i need a style for my curly hair desperately need help please ❤
Do a wet cut and a shorter cut too
This just happened to me today. Thinning shears, nothing done to my layers, my hair is a mess. I have bottom layers on the side that look awful, trying not to look like sideshow bob.
This is exactly what i needed to watch i just needed to shape my hair not cut it
nice cut but i wouldnt like to be that mannequin, my head hurt just watching this hahahaha
I can’t really tell how to part the hair because the hair is so dark.
Thank you!!
Thanks Milly

Its not even though 😭 one side is longer
His beard blocks our eyes from seeing the cuts he's making on that dark hair. It's indistinguishable.
Wish I could have seen different angles of the cut only because Im just a Joe smo lol. I guess I was looking more for a step by step tutorial that showed everything.
Where's the mannequin from?
I want to understand but this is so confusing 😭
You murdered her curls....
I'm just glad she's not human who wants frizzy hair like that not me😅
If you have so many clients you give this cut to, why didn't you use one of them? This looks terrible. There's zero volume. We curlies are ALWAYS looking for volume.
This was to reduce volume
I am always looking to reduce my volume
I'm not looking for volume. My hair is curly and really thick. I need my volume reduced.
THAT'S IT?
Where's the finished look?
You didn't even style it.
I didn't, I just wanted to show how not to get a triangle shape
i hope hes cheap
Nope
Yup
Nope
Yea no,, not a great tutorial for people that are confused I'm a hairdresser and I'm still confused
You did nothing here. There is No Shape at all
