My hair was getting long and feeling thin, and both of those videos helped me give myself a trim and very gentle layers. I think the secret is to cut only a centimeter at a time, I know none of us has the patience to do it, but after some experiences I foubd out that each time I do something to my hair at home (color or cut) I do it gradually. It's like testing a color on one strand: cut only a centimeter to see how your hair reacts, especially curls, wait one week and repeat. Hugs to all the people here ❤

    I loved your video and I did it today, cut my layers, and they turned out great….. no matter where I get my haircut, if I pay lots, or go to great clips, no one wants to cut shorter layers on my hair, I have thin and mostly straight hair so they seem afraid it’ll look thinner, but i do have lots and once I style it looks great, but they don’t want to, so I got a haircut today, hairstylist gave me layers on the back but longer ones on the front …. So I got home , found your
    Video and followed the instructions and gave myself some layers, and they turn out great, just exactly what I want it. Thank you so much now I’m following :-)

    I do like your style and you made that very easy to follow. I would have liked to have seen the cut without curls to get a better idea of what it looked like though. Do you have a video like that? Thank you 😊

    Wow, amazing tutorial. I have literally watched 100’s of hours of hair cutting, coloring and bleaching UA-cam tutorials and yours are the most well explained easiest to understand. I’ve been cutting/coloring my hair at home for about two years and I’ve learned a lot and tried. Many different techniques for all the things and I’m getting ready to cut aloy of inches off and change it up a bit more than my usual so I started looking for technique to make it easier and me more confident. Thank god I found you. You explained it all so well and and didn’t leave out the tiny detail that make other DIY videos easy to misinterpret or mess up. Thank you so much! I need to binge watch you now and catch up lol

    Ohhh my gosh! Thank you soooo much, Brittnee! This was SUCH a HUGE LIFESAVER! I was getting sick of spending money at different salons for them just to give me a borning blunt cut when I specifically asked for layers and point cuts AND even showed them pictures of exactly how I wanted my cut! Nope! I just kept getting boring-ass cuts. So I said to myself, "What the hell? I'm going to check out some UA-cam tutorials and do this on my own.
    When you need something done right you gotta do it yourself, huh?
    Anyways, this video was the first to pop up in my search and I gave it a whirl. Viola! I FINALLY got my perfect layered haircut! I even layered my 12 year old daughters hair using the same techniques and she loves it! We are SOOOO over-the-moon happy with the results! Thank you so much, Brittnee! You're the best! :)

    Thank you for this simple method of layer cutting at home,you were super fun and easy to understand! Thank you for mentioning about not starting too short and about if a person has wavy or curly hair like I do because the hair will shrink up when dry,always start long!!😁 I have tried other at home methods on layering but you have the simplest one yet,and your hair looks amazing!!!🤗👍💕I will be trying it out tonight!

    I’m TOTALLY in agreement with Emily! Excellent tutorial with pros and cons. I’m in the process of growing out a SUPER short pixie cut. Do you have any tips of how to keep it in a style as it’s growing out? It’s growing good but I hate the shape. I’m scared to let my stylist trim it bc I really don’t know a style to work with (if this makes sense). Help! (If you can!)

    • @BrittneeAlexus
      @BrittneeAlexus  Рік тому +4

      those are tough, you just have to kind of roll with the process. Pin back the front portions helps, or braid the two front pieces. It will grow quick though!!!!

      I’ve grown my hair out from completely shaved twice. I did a lot of clipping down the front, spiking the back. I cut the bottom back of it every quarter until the rest caught up to prevent the mullet look. Curling and flipping your hair out makes it look longer, up yea… a lot of clipping the front back or up. I’m trying to remember where I was in the journey at 6 months. I luckily had some natural curl to my hair and lived in the desert so it did a lot of its own thing.😅

    Okay, I just did this and it worked amazing on my thick hair! My hair is slightly longer than shoulder length and I used my chin as a reference point for the cut. Because my hair is thick I had to make multiple cuts, and point cutting like she teaches in this tutorial is the way to go. Do not just chop straight across if you have thick hair. It will look much more choppy and unnatural than if you point cut it. I was choppy with the point cutting and thought it was going to look bad, but when I took my hair down and blew it dry it looked great! I did point cut a little section or two after it was dry that looked a little too blunt, so you can always touch it up after you dry it. Perfect!!!
