  • So far I've owned SIX of these and they're brilliant. They can do FAST, they can do SLOW and then everything in-between. One of the BEST models I have ever flown. Crazy value for money at just $33 here bit.ly/31liDDo FULL Setup details below, Press SHOW MORE to see them, Matt
    Wing Wing Z-84
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This really is one of the best models for the money, you can fly them fast, slow, FPV or just enjoy them on a windy day like I do. The parts are cheap and the build time is low, you probably even have the parts spare from a previous build!
    View/Buy link: bit.ly/31liDDo
    Servos: TowerPro MG90S
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I've owned way over 100 of these servos and for £1.90 each, they are superb value for money and really do have metal gears.
    View /Buy bit.ly/2Ho2u6N
    Motor: Turnigy D2826 2200Kv
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
This motor with a 6x4 prop and a 30A ESC is a brilliant combination and works with many models.
    ESC: 30A HobbyKing Blue
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
While you could use a quad ESC, the extra bit of nose weight from this style of ESC works really well and saves the requirement of a separate BEC.
    Propeller: Any 6x4 propeller
    Battery: 2200mAh 3S
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Any 2200mAh 3S that fits is ideal. Just make sure you hit CG and if you're off, add a little bit of lead up in the nose for good measure.

I totally agree. I own two, one is stock the other converted to EDF. Both fly equally well and are super efficient. Both are equipped with FrSky S6R receivers. If you ever get into a nasty spin, just flip it to autolevel mode and you'll be fine. I also created a launch mode with a throttle elevator mix. Makes it super easy to side launch.
My next project will be one with an Omnibus F4 running Ardupilot.

For almost 40 years I built planes from wood. Beautiful planes, months long work. Then I saw a few videos from Olivier C about the z84 and I realized I want to have that too. I haven't had so much fun and pleasure flying in a long time as with the z84.

I owned 4 Z-84's. One I just crashed beyond repair (believe me it is possible) and one, brand new, got stuck at the top of a 25m tree (with a Crossfire receiver... ). The two left standing are one with the DYS-1806-SE1806PRO-2700KV (super crazy on 4S) and one setup for long range flights with AX 1806N 2100kv (also 4S). The first one on a lion 3500mAh pack flies over 30 minutes (around 20 minutes if you're butchering it all the time on full throttle) and the long-range one does 90 minutes (tested!) in calm weather and over 50km round-trip. That gives me plenty of room to spare on the missions that I fly which are 20km out and back. I have never had issues with capacity running low on my return trip.
I can easily say the Z84 is the best entry-level and advanced platform that you can build on regardless of if you want to go crazy with it (like over 100 km/h) or you're looking for a good FPV or even long-range FPV platform.
Easily the best model ever created.

I am just re-setting up mine with Omnibus F4 Pro V3, HakRC 35A Blheli32 ESC, Emax ECO1700kv, Avan 6x3.8 Longrange prop and 4S1P Li-iON Sony Murata 3000mAh 30C pack + M8N mini GPS and R9mm receiver. FPV setup: Runcam Sparrow with Eachine 800mW VTX. Best wing this and the ARWing that has a bigger electronics bay. And yeah, best wing for the price! (forgot to mention, running Arduplane/Chibios - way more stable than iNav :P).

  • @Migueldeservantes

Honestly man!! I just started to put some hours in mine!!!! first one, and I did rigged it for FPV, using a 4c LiOn battery flying almost a hole hour is literally a ball! I have posted some videos on FB on the ragthnutsoff page... I'm almost sorry it took me such a long time to build it... also special thanks to Charles Blackburn for his help setting up the iNav flight controller.. I wouldn't have been able to make it work so well without Hes help and experience.
really good plane easy to transport, and its so light that it bounce out of the ground with literally no real damage to it...

I think was my 1st ever wing build, after building quads. Does fly really good once you get the cg right. Still got it all smashed up on the wall. Think I'm going to buy another and build a better one. You can't beat it for the money. Cheap as chips.

This was my first plane...and I promptly smashed two into the ground because of the death spiral. Coming from quads I had no Idea how to fly planes, watched a bunch of videos and thought I had a good idea of how to fly. But I would throttle up and try to pull out of the stall(but I flew way to close to the ground for that to even be remotely possible). I also had it built too heavy for my inexperience and must've been somewhat tail heavy. I built a flite test tiny trainer and got a sim and now I finally can rip the wing wing and I keep coming back to it over any of my other planes( a few flite test planes and ranger 2m)...I built the first 2 with the 2826 and 6x4 prop...the latest one has a 2207 samguk and a 30 amp maverick esc. Super light weight and rips, getting some weird desync at high throttle so have to mess about with that a bit. It is a bit twitchy, so maybe I still need to move the cg a bit forward. Definitely an amazing plane for fpv (so simple to launch with goggles on just give it a toss and then throttle up) and so great in the wind!

Would you have any suggestions ? Many thanks, loving your channel and subscribed. Alan

Already got three of those, loads of fun, fist one with exactly your setup, completely totaled on second flight (inexperienced me fist time adventuring on wings), second one with some spare quad parts like 2205 motor 5045 propeller, 30a esc and a lighter 1300mah lipo and wowww: those one took my noobs crashes like a champ because of low weight but also screwed like a mad banshee on WOT; That second one gave me so much joy, happy moments and allowed me to finally fly wings that I agreed to sell it when a friend of mine starting on wings asked for it.
The third one (currently in use) is fully equipped with a f4 controller running inav, fpv system, GPS and literally fly on rails.
So much fun, learning and laughs with those z84.

You can chuck it without motor and it takes of like a paper plane, so you never risk your fingers.
