Robert Im trying to record to my usb formated firestick. I keep getting "Failed to change the recordings folder". I have screen shots of it all if you might have ideas. usb is being seen by the firestick as external. Tivi verison 5.0.4 (premium), 2.28 gb of internel available and 125gb of external space available. firestick os 8.1.1.1. Firestick TV stick 4K (2nd Gen). I tried using System picker and the usb wouldnt show up. I tried to enter the path manually in the folder path and it would recognize that. Any thoughts?? Thanks!
Thank you for the video. I have been working for over a week to try and get Tivimate working with an external drive and a Firestick 4K Max Version 2. After watching this, I went back to an earlier Firestick 4K and it worked just like you said. If anyone ever figures out how to make this work with a 4K Max version 2, please let me know.
You need to use a Systems Picker File to accomplish this on the newest version of 4K Max. I found the info a while back on Reddit. Haven't used it in a while because I have Cubes, but it worked.
Works like a charm KUDOS MY FRIEND Robert you Da man…👍👍👍👍 however not all drives work so dont be discouraged just try another drive, it WILL work. Again THANK YOU for sharing your hard earned homework!!!
Great video - thank you! Do you know that this will work with the "All-new" fire tv stick 4k, please? You say in the video it won't work with the latest "4k max" version, but will with the fire tv stick 4k - however, there seems to be a new version of that out with "All-new" added to the packaging product name. Thanks in advance.
Great video! I at least know how to record off of TiviMate. I know there’s a way to set this up somehow through file explore, or ES file explore, but I can’t find any videos explaining how to set the path the way you demonstrated in this video. Thanks for the help, much appreciated!
Are you able to watch recordings while they are still recording before they finish? I like to record sports and start watching 30min-1hr after they start to skip the commercials. But generally don't wait till the game is completely over to start watching the recording
I have setup on firstick 4K Tivimate and trying to recored to external USB drive but geting error by "Failed to change recordings folder" anyone can help to resolving this?
Install a good quality VPN service also. A good VPN can help eliminate alot of buffering from your internet service provider filtering and blocking your access to your streaming service.
For those who can't change the folder/path to the USB, it has nothing to do with the brand of USB, I had the same issue. The workaround is to connect a keyboard to the TV in order to access the menus/folders that you can't access with the remote. You then go to the SMB picker and then are able to go to the correct menus via the keyboard. Here's the the channel that explains it perfectly: ua-cam.com/video/fmTS_M8e-cE/v-deo.html
The newest 4k max firestick with 12GB Storage won't work. The other models should work. Sometimes it won't recognize certain brands of USB drives. The USB must also be formatted with FAT32 . I buy the 3.0 versions on Amazon with no problems.
Great video, Robert! I think I am hooked on the Tivimate app now.
Enjoy it
Hi Robert, are you using the entry level version of the Tivimate or did you purchase the premium version? Thanks. @@RobertDevito-mh6fi
Awesome video. Exactly what I was looking for

You actually can setup to record on the latest 4K by using the Systems Picker Files app... but it isn't as simple a process.
Thanks Robert! Nice Job!
What version OS are you running?

How do you delete all those folders there (like the android folder they're all empty) and make a new folder called RECORDINGS instead of 'android' ?
I use the 4K fire stick and mine is laggy when recording any fixes?
What do I format USB drive to

Hi there...how is or is there any buffering issues with TVmate... ?
Tivimate is a player and relies upon the quality of your Internet. Most buffering issues are a result of either slow internet or a weak signal
Install a good quality VPN service also. A good VPN can help eliminate alot of buffering from your internet service provider filtering and blocking your access to your streaming service.
Buffering totally depends on your connection, and also, the channel, some are different than others. the price we pay for the game we play…
Buffering issues are not usually the fault of the player software. It’s usually due to the provider stream or your own network.
Doesn't work for me. I got a 128gb fat32 usb stick, firestick 8gb, got all setup properly but still does not work

@@RobertDevito-mh6fi THis sucks. THe new Firesticks should be better than the old ones. I can't record shows on the USB drive.
If it is set up right you can record on the 4k Max.
How??
Why can I not record on the new 4k max
its record only A few minutes, not more than 3 then stop.. what wrong?
The way you are holding the firestick doesn’t give a clear view on what you are doing
