For those who can't change the folder/path to the USB, it has nothing to do with the brand of USB, I had the same issue. The workaround is to connect a keyboard to the TV in order to access the menus/folders that you can't access with the remote. You then go to the SMB picker and then are able to go to the correct menus via the keyboard. Here's the the channel that explains it perfectly: ua-cam.com/video/fmTS_M8e-cE/v-deo.html

I have setup on firstick 4K Tivimate and trying to recored to external USB drive but geting error by "Failed to change recordings folder" anyone can help to resolving this?

You are wrong about stating you cant record programs using a weekly setting because you can its available in the recording options settings. I thought I would let you know this because I use it all the time.

Robert Im trying to record to my usb formated firestick. I keep getting "Failed to change the recordings folder". I have screen shots of it all if you might have ideas. usb is being seen by the firestick as external. Tivi verison 5.0.4 (premium), 2.28 gb of internel available and 125gb of external space available. firestick os 8.1.1.1. Firestick TV stick 4K (2nd Gen). I tried using System picker and the usb wouldnt show up. I tried to enter the path manually in the folder path and it would recognize that. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

You say in the video it won't work with the latest "4k max" version, but will with the fire tv stick 4k - however, there seems to be a new version of that out with "All-new" added to the packaging product name. How do you delete all those folders there (like the android folder they're all empty) and make a new folder called RECORDINGS instead of 'android' ?

Hi Robert. Something important I can add. If you have a subscription to TiVimate that includes 2 Firesticks then to record on TiVimate both Firesticks can't be powered up at the same time. You have to shut one off. This is because TiVimate treats a recording as a third connection and your subscription includes 2 connections only. Also I have a problem I haven't been able to solve that you may be able to help me with. I can only record for 90 - 110 minutes and the recording stops. This means a 2 hour or more program won't full record. Any suggestions?

I appreciate you taking the trouble to help others get the most from their Tivimate. I don't know of any better than Tivimate once mastered but one could easily be put off in the early stages of use when not knowing the things you're pointing out.

Hi robert, ive set up my tivimate to do recordings using a 16G flash drive but every time all of my playbacks keeps sticking or repeating lines and not giving a real time recording even on short or long trials.can you or any one on this forum help me to fix this PROB?

Thanks. I was okay with the default sorting until Tivimate did an update on 4/6/24 which gave me a channel lineup I didn't like at all. Some update.

Are you able to watch recordings while they are still recording before they finish? I like to record sports and start watching 30min-1hr after they start to skip the commercials. But generally don't wait till the game is completely over to start watching the recording
