    The CB650R brings an innovative E-clutch system and a unique neo-retro design to the market. It isn’t as quote end quote corny looking as a Z650 or an MT-07 with their jagged angles and crazy designs, and it isn’t as outdated and conservative looking as an SV650. It is a little towards the pricier end of the spectrum for the Japanese naked bike segment, but being a Honda, the long term savings you are gonna benefit from as a result of its extremely well known reliability will outweigh the slightly higher MSRP you pay upfront. So if you want a grey neo-retro naked Japanese bike in with a 4 cylinder engine and a cool new clutch system well do I have a bike for you.

      @@greensandbeansgaming1358 deal with it, Honda and Yamaha will upgrade all their models with some kind of DCT or E-CLUTCH system. Other companies will follow for sure and leave very few models out of those upgrades.

    At 14:10 the bike didn't let you turn off e-clutch because you were in 1st. You need to be in neutral. Doesn't matter if bike is running and kickstand is up :)

    Got the 2021 model! No fancy electronic, just pure power and feel. Looks better to with the old head lamp, and air intake.

    I have the 2022 model. TBH the E-clutch looks terrible from an aesthetics perspective. The functionality is fine but it just looks bad. If they could put it inside the engine casing without the huge lump then I might spec it but until then I would not. Currently Honda NZ are ONLY selling the E-clutch version of the CB650R in NZ which is nuts. I'm so glad I grabbed a brand new 2022 model for a discount.

    100% agree with you about cruise control. They couldn't have done cruise control without having a RBW throttle though and if they did RBW throttle then they could have also done better TC, ride modes, up and down QS (without E-clutch) etc and this would have been way more interesting to me than a big ugly box on the side of the engine that actuates the clutch for me. I love Honda but I really wonder what they are doing sometimes. Kinda ignoring their hardcore fans and focusing on beginners? I mean, the 650R isn't a beginner bike IMO. Even if you get the A2 restricted bike, it's still a big, heavy bike with a lot of torque and you probably should have ridden a 250 or something for a while before getting the 650R and if you have already ridden a 250 then you already know how to use a clutch. An absolute novice should not ride a 650R even if it has E-clutch. That's just my 2 cents though.

    Took one out for test ride. Tbh I was very impressed and the e clutch was nice to use, didn’t get enough time to appreciate it for the hour I used it for. I wanted one but the colour I wanted was 3 months away and that was over summer, so I didn’t bite, shame as I really wanted one and had mad visions of de catting with cheapy Aliexpress race system….I’ve had them before and they are fine. I’m now looking at a CB1000 Hornet now as the pricing point is a no brainer versus this 650 even with e clutch. Nice review 👍

    The Honda CB650R is a great bike because it doesn't have all the electronic gizmos on it.
    The 2023 Honda CB650R looked better than the new 2024 model.
    The E-Clutch doesn't make sense to me as part of the riding experience is changing gear and using the clutch isn't it?

    After seeing all Japanese manufacturers adding some kind of automatic transmission option i am just wondering who was asking for this? There is many others things that could be improved on current bikes like suspension or brakes instead adding unnecessary complexity on top of thing that works already well.

    • @emadreviews

      QS works only while you are moving; when stopped, you still have to hold in the clutch lever (or you’ll stall). This e-clutch takes care of your clutch lever completely.

    The bike is a little more expensive, but what value do you put on that e clutch for a person that wants it? Seems like a really nice upgrade. Now that you have reviewed a few of these e clutch models, is it starting to stick on you at all?

    • @emadreviews
      @emadreviews  2 місяці тому +2

      It’s a great option for new riders who might feel a bit uncomfortable with clutch control, as well as for experienced riders looking to make city commuting easier or reduce hand fatigue on longer rides. I’ve reviewed a few models with the e-clutch now, and it’s definitely growing on me! Thanks for watching!

      @The.JZA. 2 місяці тому +4

      @@emadreviews That is at the wheel, not the crank. Usually you lose about 15% of power through the transmission so 81.9/0.85=96.35hp which seems a little bit high but maybe they had particularly dense air on that day from weather etc? The bike is designed to be right on the limit of A2 compliance i.e. 70kw which is 93.8hp at the crank.
