I kept the stock carb and re built mine with better jetting. I had a similar issue. In all honesty even with this sort of delay or flat spot you dont notice that when riding well i have found anyway. But i have a more crisper power response now across the rev range after i rebuilt and changed the jetting. I run after market fmf slip on. 98ron pump gas. Standard engine. Never let me down the big girl. Nice after market front light and i like y I Ur graphics. The bike seats well too got that suspension dialled in nicely.
Right off idle, whack the throttle wide open as hard and as fast as you can. I promise you stock XR carb lags. Thats why motocross bikes come with pumper carbs. I have had a lot of XRs and they all lag a lot like that if you whack em wide open off of idle, no matter what you do with the stock carb. If yours doesnt lag, post a video and tell us your secret!

its a dam beast from the sounds of it I was thinking going lectron or fcr my stock carb I have hesitation prob my stock carb with 175 main I cant get past half throttle it just cuts out starving for fuel I have 188 main in stock carb now it a fucker to jet my xr650r my bike highly modded xrs only pipe air box opened up 11/1wossner head ported by xrs only my jetting seems to rich off the bottom to mid range any advice I have 53e needle not the stock needle

If your stock carbs pick up exactly like the FCR in the video, then post your own video doing the exact same thing. Off idle, whack it WOT as fast as you can. We all know it lags. Ive never seen a stock xr carb pick up like that so stop lying!!! FCR is the best!!

If i good remember mine was FRC 41, yes fuel tank too big, you need heat it with a construction dryer and bend it at that point. be careful, the fuel tank must be empty!

Carburetor cost 150e (used). I adjust my carb 1000 times and nothing help, change some jets kits and still lag. Only old new carburetor help me and im more than happy with thar carb :) This has helped not only eliminates the lag, but the motorcycle has become much more witty like my new CRF450X.
still sounds like you just never got the tune right with the old one. more than likely you had some crap stuck somewhere in a passage that you couldnt see and it just threw it all to pot on you

On my XR 650R, stock carb, stage 1 camshaft, there is lag, but not as bad as in the video. I too need a carb upgrade!

the lag is due to the lack of backpressure because of the aftermarket exhaust. nothing a bit of jetting can't sort out

The old didn't have a pumper carb. The fcr does.

this fcr carb have power jet, the stock carb. don't have.. i think this is de difference, and the fcr have more quality..
adjust the air/fuel mixture on stock carb to fix. also that after market carb sounds awesome u def can tell the difference !

I had that same problem when I bought mine used. Just clean the jets with decardbonizer, tune it very well, and it works perfectly.

i converted mine to lefthand throttle cables, and bored it out to 43.5mm (max) its much easier carb to tune than the stock or mikuni hs40

Mate you've got dirty and out of specs stock carb. Any carb won't have lag if it is clean and adjusted. Fcr just revs faster a bit.
maybe, but im sure clean carb several times, maybe only jets was wrong. Anyway i dont have XR like 4 years ;)
