We bought a 2205S in May last year and just love it! The power package was not available at that time, but my husband is handy and we have installed 2 100ah battle born lithium batteries, we have 2 solar panels but will install a 3rd this spring. We just installed an 2000 watt inverter, battery shut off switch, new MPTT controller as well as a new solar controller and new inverter switch. He also wired our microwave to our new inverter so I can use it for short heat or re-heat items without using the generator. Although it won't give us as much power as the power package will, it was more cost effective for us to do our own. Headed to Grand Teton this fall and Signal Mountain campground only takes 30'ers or less so the 2205s is perfect. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Awesome to know you also have the 2205s and love it! It sure seems so perfect for us! That's so great that your husband upgraded your batteries, solar, inverter, and controller. That will make a huge improvement for you. We boondocked for the first time this summer in Colorado and found out quickly that we didn't have what we needed. Enjoy the Grand Tetons! It is on our list for this year as well! Can't wait!
My wife and I are looking at getting back into camping now that it is just the two of us. We have been looking at this camper as we will be towing it with our Tacoma. Thank you for your input both good and bad.
We have a 2516S Rockwood mini lite we love it. We have done a lot of traveling with it. We tow it with a Ford F150. The farthest we went was from Michigan to Las Vegas. We had a blast. We are planning more trips in it this year. Can’t wait to go.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! The 2516s is a beautiful model! So glad to know you love it! Excited for you to enjoy it more this year too!
Just toured the Rockwood Minilite in person and it's exactly what I've been wanting! I've been searching for our third RV post kids and I think this may be the one.
Definitely planning to purchase a Rockwood Mini Lite shortly. We bought a used trailer during COVID and love it. Just need something more. Would love to be in your group.
Oh awesome! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! It’s such a great RV. Happy to answer any questions you have. Best wishes on finding the perfect one for you!
Excellent Video ! As you know we also own a 2104s Mini lite we purchased in 2021. We also have the same likes and dislikes and made some modifications to some of the dislikes. Over all we are Happy with our choice of Travel Trailer. Something I think should be mentioned, is the fact when the Slide is in while on the Road. The Bathroom is difficult to get to, unless you crawl over the Dinette table . My wife does not like using public Restrooms.
Hi Ed! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! You are so right about not having access to anything when the slide is closed! Thank you for making this important point! This is another reason why we want to switch to the 2205s to be able to have access to everything with the slideout closed. We have loved the 2104s a lot, it's just that after living in it for over a year the 2205s will really solve a lot of our issues. Tony & Peggy have sold us on it for sure! Thanks again!
I bought a new 2022 21DS in fall of 2021. Mine has the pull down shades instead of the blinds. I have placed two more if the solar panels on the roof across from the one that came with it. I changed the solar controller to a Victron and have two 206a SOK batteries that I relocated into the driver's side front storage area. With 570 watts of panels and the SOK batteries it can boondock with no problem for a long time even with the 12v fridge and watching TV for 3 or 4 hours at night. I also pit a 2200w inverter in it and can use the microwave too
Thank you. I learned how to do these things and many other updates by watching Will Prowse videos for most of the solar and other stuff from UA-cam videos like yours. Most of it wasn't really difficult but was more figuring out the unexpected problems that sometimes came to be. I am more than willing to help anyone out if they want to know how I did it. I can also tell you other projects that I have done to improve the a/c, the water system and recently I installed a new controller that can charge either lithium or regular batteries when you have pedestal power.
We just traded our 32' Jayco Eagle HT 5th wheel to a smaller TT also. We ordered a Flagstaff 25FBLS which will arrive April 2024. There will be things we can't bring along because of storage issues. But going to a much smaller floorplan I believe we will get better fuel economy and we will be able to fit into more campsites.
I like the idea of a u-shaped dinette, glad to hear it’s functional. I always wondered about the Murphy bed and how that would work when traveling for longer periods of time.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We thought the murphy bed was such a cool idea and literally only looked at models with them. Makes perfect sense to hide it since you only sleep 8 hours of the day. In reality, it is a pain. The RV is way too small with it down so one thing we didn’t mention is this means we always have to go to bed and wake up at the same time as each other. That can definitely be another pain too.
We have a 2205S as well, a 2022 model, and love it. We moved up from an R-Pod, so this thing is gigantic! All about perspective, I guess. We looked at the 2104S, and were impressed, but the Murphy bed was a deal-breaker. We have an F150, so trailer weight wasn't quite as big an issue. I'm with you on huge trailers limiting where and how easily you can get somewhere. Not sure where you are, but if you're ever near Millersburg, Indiana, be sure to do a tour of the Mini/Micro Lite factory there.bIts really interesting. Safe travels.
Thanks so much for your comment. You have the best floor plan in our opinion. So glad you love it. Would love to tour the Mini Lite factory. That would be so cool!
Great walk through with likes and don't likes. We actually looked at Rockwood trailers before we bought our Grand Design Imagine. We really liked the build quality of Rockwood. After spending some time full-timing in our 30', I'm not sure I could drop down to a 20' Again, great video!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We have not talked to too many people that said they could do this! Most of our friends and family walk in and say "Nope" right away! For us, it's all about less stuff, more memories! It's just temporary and we'll have the big rig one day again.
We full time Rv but we looking for a mini lite just to go camping because I don’t want to unhook my big camper we love being full time camper’s would not trade it for nothing we are looking at the 2109s mini lite love the floor plan we from Louisiana been full time now for almost four years best thing we ever did
Best decision we ever made as well! The 2109s is an awesome floor plan! Wish we would have went with that. Love that you can access everything with the slide closed. We didn’t realize that until after we purchased ours. The only negative I’ve heard inside the Facebook group we’re in, is that the couch isn’t very comfortable. However, a bunch of people swapped it out for a more comfy couch and said it was an easy upgrade. I think you’ll love it! Good luck!
Congratulations! Just make sure they test EVERYTHING during the demo. If something isn’t working, do not take it off the lot. They will fix it fast to get your money, but once you drive off the lot, it takes forever to get service. Take your time and make sure the fridge is cooling, etc. Our fridge wasn’t cooling and we didn’t know until we got home. We just opened the door quickly during the walkthrough and the light came on so it seemed to be working. It took months to fix it with lots of trips to the dealer.
Im looking at a murphy bed setup with dinette and after considering close to a dozen, it’s between this one and a 2108s winnebago. I think the Rockwood is winning though.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! The murphy bed is absolutely genius! We we’re strictly looking for murphy bed models and this, by far, is the nicest one.
Loved this . We own rockwood forest mini camper. 21 feet, I think. How can we get on the rockwood site. We have many questions. We are newer and an older retired couple. Your video helped with some questions. Thank you, Sandy Borowiecki
Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and subscribing! That means a lot to us! We already are subscribers to your channel and are so appreciative of all of your helpful videos and advice! Thanks again!
Thanks for this video. My wife and I have the same trailer. 2021 2104s. Chose this layout as it does give us extra space if we have our adult son and his partner visit and the weather is inclement. The Murphy bed is pretty simple to set up and put away. The u shape dinette was a selling point but I admit I don’t line that table. It’s a pain to break down and we found out the hard way that you can’t leave it set up while travelling. We have the marks on the trim to prove it. It will run against the counter extension. Not being able to access the fridge and bathroom while travelling, but if need be, it’s not a lot of trouble to extend slide. We tow with a 2021 F150 with 5.0 L and 3:73 RAR. We are not full time but do plan extended trips. First trip is across Canada. We live in BC and have family in PEI so that will be a long one with stops along the way. After that we do want to do a Alcan trip. Really enjoy your channel. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! So glad you love your 2104s too! The murphy bed is awesome, just every single day gets old quickly. It feels so much smaller with it down so we put it up right away which means we both have to wake up at the same time each day. We aren’t typically nappers, but there have been a few times after long hikes that we would like to lay down and it’s just a pain to move all the pillows and decorations again when we just made it all look nice a few hours earlier. Not too much to complain about, just something we didn’t think about. This RV is perfect for people who are not full-timers, like yourselves. Hope you enjoy lots of awesome camping this year!
@@RoamInYourHome thanks so much for the reply. We typically do not hang out in the trailer much when we are set up, therefore we just leave the bed set up. We only fold it up if we know we are having company. We do like the u shape dinette and haven’t had the issue of the unstable table. I did switch to a 100ah lithium battery, because we do like camping at the sites without shore power. We are good at conserving power so with the lithium battery and a 190W solar panel we never have an issue with running out of power. We seldom if ever use the inverter, have a propane capable refrigerator and like you, rarely use the trailer lights as we have a couple of solar powered lamps and battery operated lanterns so our power consumption is low. At this time we only camp in the shoulder seasons so don’t need AC. I know that will change when we start the long haul trips but for now the set up works well. We do have a Honda 3000 generator, but it is very heavy and not easy to lug up and down off the back of my truck. Watched a few of your videos last night. Really enjoyed the boon-docking.
Thank you so much for watching our boondocking video. Your generator and your propane fridge will make a huge improvement from our experience for sure. I have heard a lot of people that are just camping in our model leave the bed down. Makes sense and definitely solves the problem of putting it up and down daily. Good luck with your upcoming trip!
By myself, yes I could live in a 20’, but with the wife, not so much. Honestly, I’ve been looking at this camper, the 2205s and the 2515s. I like the 2515s because it has both dinette and the recliners, and a bedroom, and the dinette is on the camp side. However, I will probably settle in the middle with the 2205s, hopefully someday. It has a fireplace and a full queen. Unfortunately though, it does not have a very good camp side window coverage, nor does it have a dinette. So really had to decide. The 2515s checks most of the boxes for me, but it’s close to maxing out my tow capacity, and it longer than I’d like. I too am a member of that facebook group. I joined so I could see what people say about rockwood campers. I’ll have to keep an eye out for your posts! Thanks for your video. It was very helpful.
Thanks so much for watching and for your great comment. The 2515s is definitely awesome. The 2104s is great for weekends, but the 2205s seems so much more practical. I love how you can access everything with the slide out closed. That would be perfect. Wish we would have thought of that. Good luck in your decision!
This video has been very helpful. I wished I had seen this prior to purchasing our 2104S. The 2205S probably would have been better for us also. I am short and noticed I will have a difficult time getting my hanging clothes out of the wardrobe. Even the freezer is too high for me 😂. Thank you again and add us to your website.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Yes, I am short too and also struggle with everything! I make my husband refill the ice trays because it’s too tall for me to put them back without spilling! Haha! I have to stand on the couch to get my clothes too. Short people problems. That 2205s is so perfect, especially having full access to everything with the slide closed! We totally missed seeing that. Live and learn. The 2104s is still a wonderful camper and we can’t complain too much though. Thanks again for watching!
GREAT review! Thank you for covering EVERYTHING including pros and cons. I am currently looking at both a RW 2109S or 2205s. However, I think the 2205s is a little heavy for my smaller truck. I would be very interested in the link to you rockwood mini lite group. Thank you and have a very blessed 2024
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! You are looking at some great floor plans. The Facebook is amazing! You will love it! Good luck with your search. Happy Camping! facebook.com/share/R33M3xPFuTtqbBoQ/?mibextid=K35XfP
Check all the numbers of your truck - payload, towing capacity, GVWR and then look at all the numbers on RVs. Make sure you keep in mind the weights of people and other stuff that will be riding in the truck as well as if you have propane tanks full, and other tanks full. There is a lot to keep in mind when doing your research.
Congratulations! You’ll love this Facebook group! They are so helpful. Any questions that you have, use the search feature in the group. If you don’t see an answer, then post your question. We are planning on buying Rockford 2104S in the next year or so. Would love to be a member of your group. I also need some towing suggestions as we are looking at buying a truck very soon. Thank you!
We are looking at a 2104s to pull with a new 2023 Colorado midsized pickup. The 2104s, like all the newer trailers, sits up pretty high off the ground. This really reduces the MPG of the tow vehicle. Can you share the Jeeps highway MPG with and without pulling the trailer. Thanks...
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! The Jeep Gladiator is horrible on gas mileage. You definitely don’t get a Jeep for the miles per gallon. There’s a joke amongst Jeep owners that it’s all about the smiles per gallon. Haha! We get 16 mpg not towing and 8 mpg towing. It’s awful, but we wanted the Jeep Gladiator more than anything so we put up with it. Good luck with whatever you decide to get. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
I am looking I For Mimi lite or micro lite that I can tow with my ford f150. We will camp at NASCAR races and have no electric or water and it will be me and my son mostly. But he needs electric for his vent at night. I need a space for my hubby too when he goes but I really don’t want to put down a dinette every night. I’d prefer a sofa for him if we have to have no set bed for him. I have considered 2109s, 2104s 2205 and two of the Grand designs but I love solar on the side for my sons needs.
The 2109s and 2205s would be ideal! Those 2 models also give you the benefit of accessing everything without even opening the slide! Wish we would have thought about that before purchasing our 2104s. That is a huge feature. The open floor space makes it seem so much bigger in those models too. We were shocked when we walked into the 2205s at the Tampa RV Show this year. I think you would love it and it would be ideal for you, your son, and hubby! Hopefully you can find one near you that you can walk through. Good luck!
Congratulations!!! You will love this group! They are all so helpful and informative. See you inside the group! facebook.com/share/mjUWxrrds4hoeKof/?mibextid=K35XfP
Great video and helpful information. We are getting ready to retire and were very interested in the Rockwood Mini Lite line, namely the 2205s. But the tongue weight and GVWR was on the top-end of our towing veh so we dropped down in size to the 2104s. After some research and seeing it at a dealer, we learned the bed could not be down when the slide is in which was not ideal. So we are now looking at the 2109s as it seems to check all the boxes. Can't wait for the day we pull the trigger!
We don’t know the current prices for 2023. Join the Facebook group and ask there though. The group is filled with so many knowledgeable people and a lot have recently purchased 2023 models. Good luck!
Having lived in multiple RVs....and some with no dedicated bedroom....I have no idea how you guys manage that with a bed like that. Perfect for one person but deff no way for two people. You basically have to be on exactly the same sleeping schedule.
You are absolutely right! Thankfully we are on the same sleeping schedule, but it still isn’t ideal. We love the little size of the RV to be able to go more places, but are ready to get a big rig again. It’s a perfect camper for weekends.
I am looking for a different TT and I have the Gladiator with the Max Tow. I note from the specs that you show for 2104S that you have a GVWR of 6,841# (4,977 UVW + 1,864 CCC) which is close to the GVWR 0f 7,650# rating for the Max Tow. Does the Gladiator struggle with the 2104S? Thanks
The Gladiator tows our Mini Lite great on flat land but it definitely struggles when climbing in elevation. When we were in Colorado and driving up some of the highways along the mountains, we often had to drop it down into second gear and just go around 35 mph in the slow lane like semi’s do and let everyone pass us. It handled it really well and never overheated or gave us any issues, it’s just that the power is not there like we are used to in a 8 cylinder vehicle.
Just curious as to what your jeep is rated pound wise for towing? I have a chevy avalanche and it's rated at 7000lbs, so im just wondering what the comparison is since I'm currently looking at trailers. The thought of having to have my gas pedal smashed to the floorboard just to get up mountain passes is stressful to think about.. thanks.
Our Jeep Gladiator has the max tow option and is rated for 7650 lbs. We found that moving it to manual shift while towing makes a HUGE difference. We just downshift while ascending and it is so much better!
i have a 4 door jeep and max tow is 3500 lbs. gladiator can tow 5000lbs. i noticed your future 22'er is dry weight 5132lbs..are you concerned about the legality aspect? im sure it can pull it no problem tho.
Our Gladiator is a Sport S with max tow and the towing capacity is 7650 lbs. We would absolutely never tow without being inside the legal limits for our safety and everyone else’s. We specifically bought this model Mini Lite because it was within specs of the towing capacity, tongue weight, payload capacity, GVWR, etc. All the numbers worked. This is the biggest small RV we could legally and comfortably tow.
Just reread your comment and realized you were talking about the 2205s that was on our wish list. Sorry about that! We were going to upgrade the truck if we were considering making that change. We have since decided against it and when we are ready for a change, we will be getting our originally planned motorhome and give the Gladiator a break and towing it.
Thanks so much! We have a gas Sport S with the Max Tow Package which has a tow rating of 7650 lbs and payload capacity of 1560 lbs. The gas Sport S Gladiator with Max Tow is the only one that would work to tow our Mini Lite. We always recommend getting a bigger truck than you need and this is definitely not taking our own advice. We used to have a Ram 3500 dually towing our 40’ Jayco Pinnacle fifth wheel and that was awesome. We really wanted the Gladiator for off-road adventures so we researched what is the biggest small RV the Gladiator can safely and legally tow. This Rockwood Mini Lite 2104s is it. This is only temporary and we will be getting a motorhome to tow the Gladiator next. The Gladiator is what we wanted most of all so upgrading to a more capable truck wasn’t on our wish list. It does it but it doesn’t have the power we’d like. Sometimes we were in second gear going up the mountains in Colorado. You just can’t be in a hurry on the inclines. We absolutely love our Gladiator! It’s our first Jeep and we are huge fans!
@@RoamInYourHome I was always thinking the Chevy or GMC with the baby Duramax Diesel would be a good choice...they stopped offering them this year though. I think for flatlands the Gladiator would be a good choice...but I do love mountains!
The Gladiator is definitely awesome on flat land. Just on the inclines we could tell the power wasn’t there. It’s totally capable, but just not breaking any speed records for sure.
This is a great review and an amazing mini light we would so get this. We have talked about getting something really small especially for national parks and we do love harvest host. That rig is awesome love the wrap around table and u are right about that Murphy bed that looks nice when up and a great bathroom and storage. With 11 states already banning RV's and more to come, we will be downsizing from a Class C Thor 25' at over 12,000 pounds. Check out this video for more info ( ua-cam.com/video/meeiZknjjPQ/v-deo.html) We have been looking at the Rockwood Mini Lite's to tow with our F-150.

Good luck!
This video was very informative. Thanks. On our way to pick up ours right now. Would love some tips. 😊

Picking up the a new 2024 Rock Wood mini lite 2104S this week. Very excited. Any tips / suggestions appreciated
We have been to multiple huge RV shows and have seen them all. Rockwood has the best quality and floor plan that we’ve seen. Good luck!
That's a cool little trailer, and that murphy bed is GENIUS! Thanks for sharing your experience... :)
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! The murphy bed is absolutely genius! We we’re strictly looking for murphy bed models and this, by far, is the nicest one.
I think I just saw you two online at the RedClay Hot Sauce Florida Open of the Carvana PPA Tour. So cool!
That wasn’t us, but we are in Daytona Beach right now! That’s pretty cool!
Loved this . We own rockwood forest mini camper. 21 feet, I think. How can we get on the rockwood site. We have many questions. We are newer and an older retired couple. Your video helped with some questions.
Thank you,

Great video you two, keep them coming. I just subscribed to your channel
Forgot to ask, are you members of the group we mentioned? If not, you have to join! Best group on the internet!

We are looking for the correct model for 2022 Tacoma SR5. Our preferred bed is a walk around type

My husband and I are looking at buying an RV and the mini lite seems to be our favorites so far. Would love to join your page and learn all RV living.

Just bought a Rockwood 2104s down sizing from a Grand design 5th wheel. Looking for info on where to hang towels.
Congratulations! So similar to us downsizing from our fifth wheel. We hung hooks next to the toilet. Works great!
Taking delivery on a 2104s today!
Awesome! Congratulations!!
Great video and great information
Thanks so much, Dad! ❤️
I am looking I
For Mimi lite or micro lite that I can tow with my ford f150.
Good luck!
@@RoamInYourHome thank you. I will see what my truck can tow and see if the 2205s fits in its capacity. I love them both from what I’ve seen.

Thanks for watching and commenting. The 2109s is the perfect compromise! There are so many owners that love that model. Congratulations! Enjoy!
What should I expect to pay for a 2023 2104s? Thank you!

@@RoamInYourHome Thanks
Just curious as to what your jeep is rated pound wise for towing? I have a chevy avalanche and it's rated at 7000lbs, so im just wondering what the comparison is since I'm currently looking at trailers. The thought of having to have my gas pedal smashed to the floorboard just to get up mountain passes is stressful to think about.. thanks.
Our Jeep Gladiator has the max tow option and is rated for 7650 lbs. We found that moving it to manual shift while towing makes a HUGE difference. We just downshift while ascending and it is so much better!
Looking to purchase a 2104s
Great! Wishing you the best!
Loved your video. I'm trying to decide which model would work for us. Your insight awesome.
Thanks so much for watching! Best wishes on your search! Happy Camping!
i have a 4 door jeep and max tow is 3500 lbs. gladiator can tow 5000lbs. i noticed your future 22'er is dry weight 5132lbs..are you concerned about the legality aspect? im sure it can pull it no problem tho.
What model Gladiator do you have? Gas or Diesel? What's the tow rating on it? Looks like a sweet rig!
