      Yoga Boner Sounds good but less money will put you in a hole . It’s a matter of being financially sick or misery from the toxicity of work. Both can destroy you .

    Some supervisors just pick favorites and if you're not in that inner circle then you will eventually be fired or quit on your own terms because you will be forced out due to unbearable circumstances. It's happened to me many times. Unfortunately every job has shitty people and you just have to deal with it.

    You say to work harder and be more productive in the job despite whats going on but at my job its the opposite, they give u more work load and abuse the situation where they take advantage of u. It gets to the point where u feel overwhelmed.

    • @zuverlassig2jl
      @zuverlassig2jl 5 років тому +3

      Yes. Overwhelmed and they don't care one little bit. Ok..they don't owe it to us to care, but then I say I don't owe them anything either and then it's check out time and time to redirect my valuable time, brain power and good performance elsewhere that will actually behoove me and my family in ways that matter to us. Being on call every other week all week, not getting paid for the days eaten up with problems and putting out fires all week and weekend, morning, noon and all hrs of the night just to make them a buck while my own family goes without my time, attention or efforts? Screw that. ALL day yesterday killed my self putting out fire after fire from 9:00 am to 11:00 PM and I'll get paid for about 2 hrs worth of wk. No way. Happens often on my "on call" weeks and weekends though and I'm done. Been done a while but have not had the ideal offer yet. Have had a few, but not 5ye ideal, but the ideal is starting to look like something I'll be working on after taking a not ideal offer just to get the hell out of there and get away from the working for free on-call game that have going on. What a nightmare. I swear.

    I'm to the point I don't care about anything. I'm trapped because of the money. I work myself dizzy on my job. Everyone else are the surfers. They are the golden clique. My self esteem is in the toilet at this point. I work after everyone else leaves because they shirk their responsibilities and I have to pick up the slack. They expect that and some are so delusional they think they work harder than me. I work in another city with the promise I would move to my town when they opened that office. They hired trash for that office. Hey, they're even keeping embezzlers employed... I WORK FOR THE WRONG COMPANY!!! I'm screaming inside!!!!!!!!!!

    I am in same situation. I'm working as a sales assistant about 3 years, my work load is tripled now than before and never got a raise. Its really terrible how people get taken advantage of at work! Best thing to do is stay at the job til you find something else, just job hunt and send out as many resumes as you can, since you already have income you are not totally desperate so while these new jobs are interviewing you, your also interviewing them to see if it will be the right job for you! Best of luck!

I am constantly working, always busy, sweating running around. Sometimes you have the motivation/drive but toxic is toxic. Sometimes the best thing is to leave.

    The problem is for a lot of people I'm guessing is that we aren't paid enough to work harder. There's no motivation and no reward when we do try hard. Just managers who apply the 'maybe' rule. Maybe we will bump up your salary. Maybe maybe maybe. I found out today that I am the lowest paid employee in my team. I have risen up the ranks only to be rewarded with crumbs. Other ppl in my team, who are significantly higher do less work and recognised for the few work they do. That's my problem. I think you should include this in your video.
    Thanks

    My own small experience: I have been working in a ToxicOffice for two years and I am going to quit in a few months - from my own will. The salary is great and job quite interesting .. nonetheless I grew so tired and annoyed by the place and especially the people (really badly designed open-plan office + toxic environment) that I have decided to quit. The money is not worth it. The whole place is like some kind of sect, no one ever says what he/she really thinks, everyone is pretending something, important issues and problems cannot be discussed, while whole-day endless banal babbling is OK (really hard to concentrate on the actual work in the constant noise). Whenever someone has different opinion he is labelled as "troublemaker". Only nodding to everything, brownnosing and babbling about bs is permitted. I am person who likes to talk openly and be honest about everything and such place is like a hell to me - I cannot even describe the relief when I finally decided to quit.

    We should also understand that those who are behaving in toxic ways are invariably going through a really hard time in their lives. This may sound naive to you, but it’s not: they need love, patience and understanding. If you can provide this, even a little, it will help them a lot. It will change their beliefs on what people are like, that not everyone is mean and selfish. The advice that you should work harder yourself is absolutely accurate as well. This guy’s advice is good.

      Ohhh, I was just thinking the same thing. I work purely manual work and I am one of TOP productive/hardworking people in team. Not because I strive to show off, but because when I work- I work. :) And, sadly, but predictably, I guess, found myself in situation, where my co-workers fake their imaginary struggle with job duties, so I end up doing their part as well. Well, there's more to say, but in short - in this field/example - productivity and trying to be better is just so wrong, when surrounded by lazy ass gossip and bully personalities who got no work ethics and moral.

    I work hard in a toxic environment where I am ostracised by the mean girl I have to sit with all day while she makes sure to brown nose the right people, take all their attention when they come to reception and she does as little as possible. I don't surf the net or take liberties. I want to leave asap but haven't found another job yet. I keep going with the hard work from the principle of 'work as unto Jesus' and I'm not a slacker.

    Sorry bud but your advice sucks. Working harder at a job you hate just let's them take advantage of you. I know, I've seen it.
