My Boss Is Toxic At Work... What Should I Do?
I work at a company. My boss sucks and that is the truth. What should I do?
Most people get stuck in a work with a toxic boss. It's an enviroment that holds you back from growing and gets you in a place of anxiety and demotivation.
So, what should you do in cases like that? How should you approach the fact that your boss is a toxic person and how should you proceed? Should you quit your job? Should you stay in your job and confront your boss?

same here! Was in the same position as you. My health was definitely declining because of a toxic boss. Quit my job with 2 weeks notice, job searched for about 3-5months and landed a job. Some toxic aspects to the job I have now but I'm definitely more cautious of managers and looking after my health! You'll learn from the bad experiences. All the Best!

Dennis LePorte what made you take that leap to leave? My position is currently making me anxious and depressed. I do my base work, other work and managers work. The kicker? I was given a false title with more work and no raise. It was my mistake that when the prior person left I should have taken the new “role” but seen everything in writing from the responsibilities and how much more I would be making. I wake up and dread going to work but my family comes first and I’m trying to suck it up. I asked for a raise half a year ago and it went ignored. I followed up last week and again was ignored. I’m currently actively looking but I feel my mental health is getting abused and I feel like I’m going to break down mentally.

I understand where your at. I was working two positions in one. My manager position was a joke because it was only used if she needed to blame me for something, otherwise it was a joke with no pull at all. My boss never believed anything I ever said plus the day supervisor was such a F-- Up that I was getting into trouble for his mistakes. My boss was a delusional, narcisstic , rageaholic . I missed out on raises put up with racist shit the list was so long..... but the real reason which I embarrassed to say was I started taking a shot or two of whiskey before going into work WHAT!? not good. Especially in the med profession. I start my new job the 29th. My last day was saturday. Am I terrified ? YOu bet. But I already feel sooooo much better it was a abusive relationship. If I can do it after 28 yrs you can too. Cheers!

@Jimmy Winn, I am bipolar and am calmer than my manager who isn't. I got chewed out for being hard to read, not having enough gestures when my manager talks to me, and they hated how I just sat there quietly the gold time they corrected me. Please don't use my disability flippantly to talk about anyone who fits your stereotype. Bipolar is a spectrum disorder that effects each person that has it differently.

I left a boss that was toxic two months ago. He was disrespectful toward me, swearing at me for making a mistake, belittling me because I am inexperienced, and something. After my 3rd day, I told him that this is not going to work, and I will be moving on to something that isn’t a fit for what I’m looking for. What made me wanna walk out the door instantly was when he made the comment of “I’m a nice guy, but I won’t mess up my reputation for someone like you.” That same day I left, I got an offer with a guy that treats his employees like family, sets an example for what a true leader is, and doesn’t degrade you or single you out if you make a mistake. I could not be happier and I’m way more successful. No job is worth ruining your mental health and well being. If it is, time to go. Thank you for this video!

Literally going into work tomorrow to have a "talk" with my boss. Every time this talk happens, she sees me and the 1 other employee having the attitude problem when she's making the issue arise in the first place. Everything happens based on her mood. All of the new people quit and want to. Even one still in training told me. They are very unclear and get mad at you for not doing something properly even though my training was 15 minutes. It's a mess and I hate retail and customer service not for the customers but for the management.

I also have to wake up extremely early and we are absurdly understaffed so everything is on just me in the morning and I honestly can't get it all done on time. I'm so anxious and am only sleeping 2-4 hours per night. I don't want to leave my coworkers, and they've said the only reason people quit are because of him...but this really, really sucks. If you do struggle with the guilt then maybe consider chatting to HR and giving them and your team a heads up that your leaving so they can prepare themselves. But yes the boss could do with having to struggle if others get tired of his crap while trying to find your replacement and leave too then that boss deserves to have that happen and your workmates deserve a better work environment too

I started looking for new jobs after three months into this position and I found what I think it's a step up and better environment. I got my offer last week and I'm walking away in two months since I need to relocate to another country and it takes some time to arrange everything. However, I'm so afraid that my current boss would not provide me with any reference letter in the future so I have to put up with a lot of s**t that she gives me right now. It takes up so much of my energy that I'm not even excited about moving to a new country.... :(

Thank you for this video...here is my little experience
I worked at a Toxic workplace in an Office Environment and it was so bad that I was thrown under the Bus and got in trouble for things I didn't even do because gossip is the normal thing to do when people get bored
Most of the women I worked with are the worst offenders since this feminist movement is increasing in popularity and the tone of their voice for simply asking a question they will look at you like you are some sort of idiot and their eyes roll.
I was sabotaged and manipulated by most of my co-workers getting me into a lot of trouble so that they can have this sense of power to frame me at any chance they can get because I have this gut feeling they hated me from the beginning and I don't understand why.
Oh! Just get HR...nope not going to even do that for the fear of everything that's going to backfire on me so it's pretty much a no win situation, so the only thing left is getting out of that nasty Environment and find a job that I really love to do in the end.
These sick fucks don't know me on a personal level and most of the time I keep to myself and do my work because that's what I'm there to do...but since I don't do any hardcore drugs or party as much they saw me as a threat...glad I got out of there as quickly as possible with the courtesy of a two weeks notice just to prove that I can work and on the last day I got shit done...unfortunately my Manager, Supervisors were still not satisfied, but that's ok...at least I got out of there knowing I did my best.

I'm dealing with a similar situation. Except they try to bleed a rock in my circumstance. My problem is that I will never find another job that pays nearly what I make. I want to really speak my mind, but I have the golden handcuffs. I work as a physical therapist, and I like helping people, but management politics suck, and you can only bleed a rock so long before it cracks. I'm not going to scream at management (although they deserve it) because of 3 reasons...My wife and 2 kids. And reimbursement sucks in this field, so I won't start my own company because it is a losing battle in the long run dealing with insurance companies. If you know anyone who wants to be a physical or occupational therapist, tell them to run away from that thought and don't look back. Trust me

You always get a douche in work and it’s worse if it’s a boss!!! I’ve had assholes who are useless and never praise you for your good work but will point out the smallest/dumbest mistakes? stuff that really doesn’t even need a mention!! you can get people make you feel like they are waiting to jump on you any second they can, it’s like a weird pressure.. my advice is to get out or get lucky! and see them move on

You don’t just “get out of a job” unless you re 18-25 and living at home . If you’re in your 40s or 50s you’re likely stuck in a job . Quit and your life goes down the tubes

There is a place for everyone even if you are 40-50. Believe in yourself. You need to stop tacking the shit and demonstrate that you are your own boss with a lot of great skills. Experience is very valuable. You are an asset.

2 weeks notice is more than adequate. Any notice is a courtesy. This is not indentured servitude. You are not a slave. Give whatever notice you feel is appropriate. ;)

I saw one H-1b visa holder Indian Programmer (Desperate) did marry an American woman ( who is a drug addict, alcoholic, lunatic & very fat ), just to get U.S. Green card. That woman is kind of social outcast from her own American community. !!! EASY path :) ... I would say , marry a Homeless American , begging on American streets & get a Green card. You will find many homeless women in Midwestern states (USA). The problem is .....you have to swallow your pride & become very low-standard to marry this kind of woman just for Green Card.

Truth man. I recently got hired at this job last week , but left the next week because the boss talks behind people's backs when he gets new recruits. Had a workplace injury and filed a claim. And said I was bullshitting him, got a call on the same day and the boss yelled and cussed at me and said I was talking out my ass because he didn't believe I got hurt on the job out of his fucking 2 decades of working in the industry, no employee has filed an injury claim before, and I guess I'm the first? Lol. Anyways I don't get any workers compensation even though it's my right in my country and there's laws regarding that. Can't even go pick up my paycheck since the day I'm writing this it's difficult for me to even walk at the moment. So fuck the wages, he can keep the money.

Made to feel like sh*t from boss because I noticed a pay discrepancy, they haven't been paying me for rest breaks (they owe me back pay). Boss told me I need to give him a letter stating what hours etc, no sorry for the fk up, felt like he was blaming me.
Started going downhill after 8 months. My job is now being made redundant because of not enough work but he said he will rehire me as a permanent casual with same benefits as a full-time employee. 🙄 Fml
