Any suggestions on things to add to make our truck setup any better?

      This is a GENIUS concept!
I think upcycling some flannel (both lightweight & the thicker ones too!) shirts as curtains with a wire curtain rod system to cover the windows in the canopy would A) make for great "bedside storage"* & B) could be used to keep in heat/keep out light etc.
*You could potentially hang lightweight stuff on the wire, or use it as a drying space by opening the canopy windows. The pockets of the flannel shirts could hold your phone/power banks/toiletries etc.

A good idea for a drawer handle is just a piece of rope. Drill 2 holes in the wood drawer face and insert a small length of rope and tie it to itself inside the draw. The rope is flexible and so when you close the tailgate, it will not be in the way.

The simplicity is great. I prefer having my fixed bed on the passenger side. When carrying taller items in the removable area, my right-rear view isn't obstructed while driving.

looks great, I love building fun projects like that, as far as a handle goes, just drill 2 holes about 6 inches apart, get some rope, stick one end through one hole and tie a knot, then stick the other end through the other hole and tie a knot. easy cheap handle and works great

Great Setup, looking for ideas to do similar with my 2500. I had a similar idea for the two sided but so I have extra room if traveling alone. For a handle I think I would cut a small oval in the center of the face plate, router it so its rounded and sand. Nothing sticking out and it should be small enough that nothing will fall through.
