Augustus 3.0 is now officially released! I know I went over the gameplay mechanics last time, but just look at this stuff. I'm not great at making perfectly beautiful cities but I can't wait to see what people do with these. Want to buy Caesar 3 (or other games) AND support this channel? Use this GOG referral link! af.gog.com/game/caesar_3?as=1715648857
I hope they make it so there appears to be settlers using the gardens (maybe when there is water coverage or within x distance from housing/temples/etc). At least it gives an incentive to build beautiful garden cities.
If they decide to do one in ancient Greece or Rome and use 3D renderings(even just for creating 2D sprites a la AOE 1 and 2) I would actually do some modelling work for them!
@@sapiensfromterra5103 Are Caesar 3 models 3d? I'm guessing they must be if they can be seen from various angles. Are they just exported at a low resolution as sprites?
Yes, Impressions Games was the most appropriately named game company ever. The Pharaoh and Zeus tunes will never be leaving the brains of those playing them. On a funny sidenote: I've found the orders being barked by the army units in at least 2 other places. One being a giant 15 episode or so documentary on the entirety of the Roman era.
The new Augustus has so much potential. This is so exciting! Someone should do a city challenge trying to recreate Villa Hadrian with all the new decorations available
Dear god this is awesome ! 3.0 already ?? can't wait to see more ! maybe you making a beautiful city or a full campaign with full decoration would be nice ! much love and thanks for covering news changes on augustus !
Big respect and big thanks to the guys who are working to do this, now i am going to start caesar 3 from the beginning again play through, this look's amazing.
Great video!! Imagine that, me sitting here watching your cool review of Ceasar 3 mod, with the same grin on my face as you ........ 22 years later!!! First release was 1989! I feel like one happy dinosaur (-ess).
Those colored marble columns and pavilions will surely go nice with god temples... maybe doing some one colored dedicated areas for one god... red Venus grand temple with red columns and pavilions and maybe more smaller temples on sides
That’s so beautiful! Sadly the Caesar IV don’t have a good optimization to add mods like this, because the 3D gaming fits perfectly to something like this
Plebs demand to be spoiled with Food and plays ! Bath houses giant temples for worship and as you show gardens, statue´s and decoration, the ultimate sandbox city !
I'm continuing my very hard playthrough with this. It is very hard now haha, struggling to get palaces. Not sure how pretty I can make my cities but I will try.
Ohh what key do you press to cycle the colors on columns and which key changes the orientation of statues? I'm not finding results when searching online / probably not using correct keywords 😅 Thank you!
So i actually have unrelated question here. Is the zoom option ingame or mods? and the more important question anyway to zoom in pharoah? :P sry, just discovered your channel
Zooming was added with Augustus modding, it was one of my highly requested features and they somehow figured it out. No zooming in Pharaoh unfortunately. Maybe in the remake?
since I discovered your channel and started following your Caesar 3 series I have been looking for my original Caesar 3 CD. and hope I find it. although I am not sure if it will run on windows 10 or 11
It's hard to say with old CDs, and because windows keeps changing, it could work but then after a windows update it stops working. That happened to me with Black & White. It installed and ran fine on windows 10, then there was an update and windows couldn't recognise the software anymore and I couldn't even uninstall the game.
Anybody know a link or a person that has made a guide to how exactly to install this mod with Caesar on your computer? The link in this vid just lists features and explains absolutely nothing about how to install it or use it.
Any image would be blurry if you zoom in. Unless you're asking why their resolution is like that? In which case it's made to match the existing graphics. Everything in Caesar 3 is kind of pixellated.
Unfortunately Augustus is built on Julius, and Julius took 10 years for Bianca to make. Not likely for it to be made for the other games any time soon.
@@GamerZakh Yes i supposed that that was a big work. And it is amazing what Bianca did ^^' But thanks for your videos, and thanks to permit us to discover this mod. :) I like Caesar III But in my heart I will be always in the Team Zeus haha :)

Looks exelent, only why build roads inside if nobody can enter the park. (There is no entrence.)
I hope they make it so there appears to be settlers using the gardens (maybe when there is water coverage or within x distance from housing/temples/etc). At least it gives an incentive to build beautiful garden cities.
It's amazing that people are still making improvements to this game that is over 20 years old. This was one of my favorite games growing up.
The Augustus people should seriously consider designing their own city builder. I bet it would be much better then other recent entries into the genre
Im sure this is where they are going, this is a way to get experience, to start a game or get hired into it..
If they decide to do one in ancient Greece or Rome and use 3D renderings(even just for creating 2D sprites a la AOE 1 and 2) I would actually do some modelling work for them!

@@DevDreCW Its just 2d sprites.
@@DevDreCW from what I understand they may have been 3d models that were turned into 2d sprites
My god, I am so hyped for your future Episodes, this is straight up Anno 1503, Caesar III style. This really is a game aging like fine wine!
They keep with the old art style so well..
That music gets me every time. Transports me back to when I was 9 years old playing this

nebuchadnezzar is taking notes, hidden in one of those bushes
Your enthusiasm is infectious!
So beautiful - You can do gardening like in Emperor :)
The gradual and organic development of this game is amazing! It's actually developing into a new game!
That looks awesome!
The new Augustus has so much potential. This is so exciting! Someone should do a city challenge trying to recreate Villa Hadrian with all the new decorations available
I wish someone would do this for pharaoh
I mean, technically they are
There's an official remaster/remake coming
@@Raider8784 sadly looks like plastic.
Pharaoh doesn't need it.
More to come in the future~
I's. So. Beautiful!
Finally ended my Vanilla-Vanilla run. Looks like a bright night for mods
Your enthusiasm about this is selling the mod update all on its own. Cheers!

Hedges baby hedges!
15 minutes of decoration building later:
"Hmm, you ran out of those funds quickly. Try to make these new funds last longer!"
Pah!
Hehe, yes decorations should be free. :)
Perfect!!! Waiting impatiently for the next episode of the forced walker playthrough with these additions!!!
Another great video about this great mod, me and my dad is currently enjoying the game again after a long time. Brings back so many memories.
It feels a bit like "Caesar III meets SimCity".... So, amazing :D
Embrace the obligation to build a forced walker city worthy of these new features and aesthetics, Zakh!

We will be playing Caesar3 on 14th gen Core i9 in 2029.
The year that the Terminator would release.
Beautiful. Now we expect gardens as amazing as this on all of your upcoming missions ;)
I wish Emperor had such mods. These look amazing and make the game look fresh.
Yeah all the games need this really. Maybe eventually someone will do it, it just takes 10 years haha, so someone needs to be really passionate.
Setup imediately!! Thank you very much from Korea.
When the Knights Who Say Ni demand a shrubbery, you can ask if they want it to be sunlit or shaded. Amazing!
Man this is cool. I have exams but now I want to play Caesar III
Wow, well done!
This looks great, zakh!
For the first several rounds I'll be getting loans to just play around and figure out my dream garden which will be planned for the whole city.
Cesar 3 is like Heroes 3 - better than anything that has come out sence :D
Those colored marble columns and pavilions will surely go nice with god temples... maybe doing some one colored dedicated areas for one god... red Venus grand temple with red columns and pavilions and maybe more smaller temples on sides

Damn that looks very good
D E T A I L S
It looks lovely! I'm having issues with crackling sound but other than that, what a lovely game this is turning out to be!
Instead of a "well maze", you can now build a HEDGE MAZE to battle the immigration glitch ;)
OH! MAH! GAWD!!!
Right when I get unaddicted to caesar 3 you gotta come out with a new video
Damn, I mean damn...
Talking about a step in the right direction!
Plaza still looks like a circus-road though.
At last! Now, I can build a real forum.
Surely there wouldn't be any desirability issues throughout the entire city after having your own ancient Central Park
Would you consider making a short tutorial on how to install the mod for some of us less tech savvy folk?
Yes I'm trying to get to that this week. Been caught up with a few things this last weekend.
Love it all, just wish they got ride of that white line on the paths and the parks
Plebs demand to be spoiled with Food and plays ! Bath houses giant temples for worship and as you show gardens, statue´s and decoration, the ultimate sandbox city !
This is amazing the game is much better with augustus.
BUt in the end.. it's the same desirability EHEHE... my godness i cant wait to play it!!
Designing a beautiful thing is its own reward :D
That looks nice!
The fir trees are cypresses :-)
Caesar 3 never end the story ^^ :)
Will u upload all campain again with 3.0 ??? please say yes!!!
I'm continuing my playthrough in 3.0. Just finished the next mission, the game is way harder now it took me 4.5 hours lol

What a great game!

How can i rotate a gatehouse or an other object, please! Thank you!
In the new Augustus options menu, there's a hotkeys page. There you can set keys for rotating.
how do you rotate statues?
damm i can't
I wish you trying Londonium with Augustus 3, new dock system will be very useful there. Also the very large land will help being too constructive.
I'm doing a playthrough so I'll get there eventually. Really looking forward to Londonium.
Please play a very hard gameplay challenge: aesthetic max. All culture dump buildings covered in gardens
I'm continuing my very hard playthrough with this. It is very hard now haha, struggling to get palaces. Not sure how pretty I can make my cities but I will try.
That's nice, I wish I could find a way to run Caesar 3 on a mac with Big Sur 🙃
Does the Julius mod have the zoom in and out feature or is that only in Augustus?
Augustus is actually caesars son
Amazing i love it! Cant wait to play. Where can i buy this augustus version?
It's free, link is in the description.
Wow
Ohh what key do you press to cycle the colors on columns and which key changes the orientation of statues? I'm not finding results when searching online / probably not using correct keywords 😅

@@BeauRenard-q3x It's only in Augustus and by default it should be 'R' but you can check the hotkey settings and rebind it to anything.
@@GamerZakh Thank you for your prompt response, will try that now. I recently got the game for that mod lol my teenage years are returning to me
This is very cool. Parks were arguably the ugliest part of Caesar III.

Where to get the game
Honestly, I'd be content if all future improvements only added aesthetics like this.
They have been adding even more decorations with the newer updates, so that's been coming along with the new mechanics.
Isn't this more satisfying than monuments?
So i actually have unrelated question here. Is the zoom option ingame or mods? and the more important question anyway to zoom in pharoah? :P sry, just discovered your channel

I saw in the patch notes for this update that there is a cheat to unlock all buildings - any idea what this is?
do you just extract the assets to the Augustus folder?
I'm guessing those all work at boosting desirability?
Yeah they do, and desirability helps with individual house sentiment now too, so it can prevent riots.
someone can help me? I play with this mod, and i canot save the game! "File does not exits"
But when you were playing Emperor you were putting in effort to make your cities look great, so why not do that with Caesar III as well?
Salut, can somebody tell me please how can i rotate buildings and how to change types of collums and other decorations, it won t work with R key?
You have to set a rotate key in the hotkey options menu, then it'll work.
Aha yes i see, thank you very mutch :)
New military units?
do paths act as roadways?
They don't as far as I know. It's an option for them to do it but it might mess up cities if they did.
@@GamerZakh right right k thanks, sure looks good!
how do you rotate buildings ??????????
In the Augustus version of the game, by default it should be 'R' but if it's not working check the hotkey options, you can set it there.
How can i rotate an object? Which shortcut?
By default it should be 'R'. In Augustus options there is a hotkeys page, you can rebind any hotkey you want there.
@@GamerZakh omg my citys are all pie. Now i can make a acceptable city. Thank again gamezaker. Caesar III is your game friend!

I'll be making one soon, I know using GitHub is super confusing, I still get lost.
I can’t seem to find the rotation key. Which key is it?
In Augustus by default it's 'R' but you can change the hotkeys for anything in the options menu. Rotate directions are there.
