The CK3 AGOT mod has definitely overtaken the CK2 version in terms of depth and fun, but man I can't wait for them to add the rest of Essos in like the CK2 version. That's where I spent the majority of my time.
Couldn't agree more. It's just so easy to conquer entire kingdoms with dragons, and if you're a Blackfyre or a Targaryen, you can easily get the Iron Throne and all of Westeros. Yeah, the rebellions and mega-wars are fun, but sooner or later they're becoming less and less.
mega wars is annoying, i find it near impossible to play without console commands. The fired from council negative opinions and its not the most stable of mods@Garreth_of_Lordran
@@josh8945 Meh, I call skill issue. You just have to make the right alliances and prevent factions from gaining too much strength. Although, when a mega-war breaks out and my troops are in Essos, each game day starts lasting half a minute. THAT is annoying af.

Despite being a huge Game of Thrones and Warcraft nerd who loves the Roman Empire, I still think Godherja: the Dying World is the best mod on this list. I kid you not, when I first started playing the mod, I spent the first three hours just reading the lore of the different empires and characters. It is such a unique and ambitious mod in every way with some really interesting lore behind it.
Appreciate the work you put into this! Its been a while since I had dove into the total conversion mods and some of these I hadn't heard of or hadn't tried.
I absolutely love CK3 Elder Kings 2. The level of detail, effort, and player customization is absolutely INSANE for a mod. If only my computer was bigger, I would play the hell out of CK3 Elder Kings 2. Also, massive thanks to the hardworking modders who make amazing mods such as CK3 Elder Kings 2 possible.

You missed More Bookmarks+ which is more popular than Bronze Age. It isn't just bookmarks. It also fully maps them all the way out to China, Japan, southeast Asia, and more.
The only total conversions that are updated rn are AGOT, Prince of Darkness, and LOTR (Beta mod only though). Godherja, Bronze Age Reborn, WoW mod, Fallen Eagle, After the End, and Elder Kings are not updated yet. Fortunately, every Total Conversion mod besides EK2 doesn't take 9 months until the next big DLC drops (sarcasm, but EK2 is slow to update). So in a few months (maybe November), we’ll see some updates. Edit: We also might get Godherja updated soon since they're trying to get the new update out fast.
AGOT has gotta be the very best of them all, that dev team is absolutely insane. They even created dragons for it. Easy 10/10. Close second for me would be Elder Kings 2, which is crazy in itself. Shame the dev team isn’t as large as AGOT’s, and has been plagued by the mind virus (careful in their Discord Server, they’re way too sensitive to certain topics). Edit: Forgot to mention LOTR, another 10/10. There’s a lot of freedom there, and the way they included the Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits, Orcs… Absolutely great. Can’t wait til they expand it even more. Edit 2: Also, modders beat Paradox in this, Shogunate is also incredibly cool, especially with the bookmarks. Also After the End is another incredible Total Conversion Mod. (Includes both South and North America, completely, in a post-apocalyptic setting.) Yes, I’ve played them all. Woah wait, there’s a new Warcraft mod? I know what I’m jumping into as soon as I get home now.
Fallen Eagle goes well with the Crusader Wars mod that brings Total War Attila battles to CK3 On that list, Shogunate, Tales of Ireland and Bronze Age Reborn are the ones that interest me the most. The main problem with CK3 is that it's wide as the ocean and deep as a puddle so I like the conversion mods focused on one culture or one specific area more. In comparison I hated the CK2 Warcraft mod because it tried to have everything and it blended poorly, and the CK3 sequel doesn't look much better. I would have preferred a more novel part of the world like Northern Azeroth during the unification of the human tribes with the elves in the north, the dwarves in the south, and trolls everywhere.
@@AndysParadoxIt is a new mod that used AI llm model to generate the text so that you can talk directly to the character in the game, it is a cool mod that worth a try!
The current github version of Calradian Kings, the unofficial and unreleased version, does have RTP compatibility. We're finishing up our cultural & religion rework before releasing it so that players have a wide variety of faiths and cultures to play as, in addition to some new adventurer mechanics coming at some point after that patch.
Godherja does not currently support the new DLC (in fact it's unplayable on current patch) but the Devs have stated they will update it in the near future and eventually add some landless unique characters.
Any mod that goes high fantasy will be very weird for this game. Half of the game is after all about dynastic power, political scheming and arranging marriages. It's probably why AGOT works so well, while I think eg a LOTR mod would work far better in games like Total War, Age of Wonders 4 or EU 4.
Is there no was to play elder kings closer to Skyrim in date? I was imagining playing as a random landless person walking around and either hear about and see what happens, possibly have events seen of the Dragonborn doing stuff while I do my things and the like. Adding dragon born powers to us would be too much in my opinion.
You're gonna make me remake a CK3 modlist to forget to play again, stop it I was half expecting a very small inclusion of the Crusader Wars mod, like, on the end of each mod a 10 second or so part saying "Ah you can/can't play this on ghe crusader wars mod"

I hope that enough Africans see it, and very diverse African modders make one about Africa before the colonisation time. It had unique ways of govermnent, from sacred kings to almost pure communist elder circles electing rulers. Add some magic and myths from different tribes and you'll have something that no Western game maker could ever think of.
How would it be communist if there's rulers? Sounds more like the Anglo-Saxon witan, which was a council of nobles. One of their duties was choosing the king from amongst the extended royal family.
@@TheRedHaze3 Well some tribes really had chosen rulers, and generals might be fired right after a war, so they wouldn't cling to power. That's more communist that Stalin, who was just a red tsar. Also they really shared more, check out the Ubuntu philosophy, as another example of a way better collective awareness than in the west.
Having two total conversion mods on would crash the game/bug it out. However, if you get bored of the Total Conversion mod you’re playing (let’s say Fallen Eagle for example), then you can disable the mod and enable Godherja or Bronze Age instead. Your campaign in Fallen Eagle will still be saved and you can continue playing if you enable the mod.
