I've been playing DF since 2010 and tried to convince my friend to try it ever since. None of them ever seemed interested until I showed them some of your videos. I don't know why but there is some kind of appealing quality about them, maybe its your narration of the emergent story or the charming hand-drawn arts, but now I have two friends playing. Thank you and keep up the great work, it's appreciated.
I had a Goblin civilization demand one of our Fortress' treasures, and when I agreed the item in question was on a display pedestal by our main dining room. This prevented the item from being retrieved and given to them, despite my efforts to replace it directly next to them on a new pedestal. They stood on the border of our land for about a week, then suddenly rushed across our bridge in an effort to attack. As usual we mostly shoved them from our main entrance into the river below, the few that managed to jump over our wall landed directly in our war dogs' training area. I always picture it as a little cartoon.
Oh, those elves. Trying to influence the politics of a neighbouring state as if it was their own. Starting a war with no clear cause. Invading with sub-par equipment and getting promptly halted. And finally, by the very fact of their invasion, accelerating the very thing they were trying to thwart. Hmmm, I wonder if I've seen something like that in real life recently...
Your videos and the steam version made me cave....I love this game and these videos so SO much!!! Much like the dwarves you are just as deserving of breaks, and it's good you've found a way to make that happen!
always a delight to watch a fortress update! Northbridge must be truly be a sight to behold; towering over the frigid sea, its multicolored windows glinting like a rainbow in the sun.
I am loving the direction you are taking. It may take a little longer to get my Dwarf Fortress fix but the jump in quality and the time spent on a fortress leaves less filler. I been playing the steam version lately and its been near impossible to put it down. Thanks for doing these videos all these years, its really what got me into the game.
"Nooo, please don't cut trees, don't you know they take a whole TWO years to regrow !" If anything, being upset at stone being """killed""" would make more sense, stone don't grow back. ...Aside from obsidian.
This is quickly becoming my favorite fortress made by you, such an interesting concept made even better by the events and characters that have been generated by the game, let's see what's up for the future of this legendary fortress!

I had been wondering how you got such specific statues made, given that as far as I knew, it was a random thing what they would give. I am highly fascinated and excited to see you can in fact set what a statue to be. Really lets one memorialize events, rather than say, strangely get a ton of elephant related crafts like Boatmurdered without much reason.

It stinks!
The mandrill I mean. Guy stinks terrible. He does seem happy with his "pets" though.
I don't know how you continue to make better and better content. This episode really stands out to me for some reason! I love it!
Great fort! I think you need more defenses to show those goblin and elves the power of the wealth god. Beside, it would be fun if you use wood traps to capture or kill some elves. They will be pretty happy. hahahahah
This fortress is just really really nice.
Much different feel from past fortresses, but that might just be the Steam version. (I mean the second series I watched of yours was Chamberpoint. Comparatively this fortress is heaven on earth.)
Honestly, now! Chamberpoint must have suuucked to live in. I'm just really happy that the stress system seems a bit more manageable these days so we dont' have to go full-nuclear like we did there lol.
Still putting in the effort and it shows. Love every episode!
Thanks again for your work, editing is not easy but it's great work.
I love how Oddom is recovering in the hospital yet it is still in a constant state of flooding lol!
my wife and I have been loving the IRL stuff you've been adding to the end. always very enjoyable content!
Thank you for your effort. You're giving something to the world, great stories, that will live on for many years.
I always wondered how you got specific statues made. Thank you for showing it in the episode.
Still the best Dwarf Fortress content out there, in my opinion. Glad you're having a better work/life balance now.
Wonderful megaproject to see grow and evolve over time.
Loving the idea of a gobo civ that is based on the Ottomans! You have really broken the medieval western-Europe theme dwarf fortress can often have.
the visuals of the pages filled with drawings are so fun
The civs have such incredible art direction this fort. I appreciate the thought you put in with it.
I missed something I think but I'm glad you had built the bridges to fight off the frogs to save the fortress. That's a heroic couple of bridges
your videos are excellent and I enjoy them very much
I'm rooting for these dwarves
Oh, those elves. Trying to influence the politics of a neighbouring state as if it was their own. Starting a war with no clear cause. Invading with sub-par equipment and getting promptly halted. And finally, by the very fact of their invasion, accelerating the very thing they were trying to thwart. Hmmm, I wonder if I've seen something like that in real life recently...
This episode just kept on giving. Thank you, Krugg! I love this story and I LOVE this fort! It's gorgeous!
Your videos and the steam version made me cave....I love this game and these videos so SO much!!! I never played a game quite like dwarf fortress.I have to say, it's incredible the amount of work and polish you put into these videos!!! It's tricky crafting a narrative out of something ongoing and your illustrations are of the finest quality! I know how time-consuming it can be to draw traditionally and edit together so much so thank you for continuing to share your tales!
Underwater Glass Inn and Platinum Road.
Hey Krugg, just chiming in to let you know it was actually quite cool to hear about your workflow and how it changed with the steam release! Knowing what the holdups etc. are just gives me a deeper appreciation of the quality of your editing and these episodes, and I'd wager I speak for most of your viewers with that :) Glad to hear you found a more efficient workflow for yourself and actually have a weekend now! Much like the dwarves you are just as deserving of breaks, and it's good you've found a way to make that happen!
Wait, Krugg is a big bear of a man who lives in the woods? That just makes these even more special : )
That manager must be tired of going up so many stairs walking with a crutch 😅
Amazing job on that cedar! Perhaps think about saving a few pieces to put in your closet for the wonderful aroma it makes!
always a delight to watch a fortress update!
I decided to make my first fort in a swamp with a light aquifer and aside from grumpy wet dwarves at first it is thriving. Thanks for doing these videos all these years, its really what got me into the game.
"Nooo, please don't cut trees, don't you know they take a whole TWO years to regrow !"
If anything, being upset at stone being """killed""" would make more sense, stone don't grow back.
...Aside from obsidian.
This is quickly becoming my favorite fortress made by you, such an interesting concept made even better by the events and characters that have been generated by the game, let's see what's up for the future of this legendary fortress!
Sometimes I get a bit sad how much is wasted from corpses in games. You can make compost! Or bone crafts! Or should, at least, be able to do it.
I love your drawn interpretation of a "Hippo but not quite" monster
Man, I LOVE the drawing of the bridge. Those kind of drawings are my favorite :D
ohhh that battlemap segment at the end was cool, gonna start as a new DM soon so it's nice seeing others do it.
Don't think i ever commented on your stuff but i must say i absolutely love what you do, never played the game but your videos are like wonderful stories and very nice to tune in to.
Loving the series, Krugg! Do whatever you gotta do with those text boxes that makes it easy for ya. We appreciate all the work that goes into this.
I think two bone bells are missing from Kerlaltur. Maybe that explains the relatively low price :P
Nah they're there. for sure
Man, I would love to see Northbridge rendered through Stonesense. That illustration looks fantastic!
I'm liking your "DF but IRL" segments you append to the end of the episode. Nifty way to split a log!
