Hey Kruggsmash! Thanks for playing my mod! I've been a long time viewer.
Egg-laying is a weirdly 'dark magic' part of the game. But it's not really that complicated. It's just a bit micro managy to get working properly. I tried to explain it in the mod's description. But in short, the best way I've found to get it to work is by unlisting ave eggs from all stockpiles, and them mass dumping all the ave's nest boxes every 3 or 4 months.
Also, my apologies for not responding on Steam. At the time I couldn't believe one of my favorite youtubers was actually trying to contact me.

Rak's takeover of the group made me realize, of all the potential systems that could seriously improve late-game Dwarf Fortress, I think constructing a system that procedurally generates internal political struggles would be amazing.
When a fort grows large enough, it starts becoming difficult to stay attached to specific characters. A perfect remedy to this would be to have a system that designates certain dwarves as "political figures," who are given personal agendas and will randomly take special actions to further their goals. Think like how nobles currently make trade bans or work orders, only instead it's *"The head of Temple X has publicly declared a distaste for Temple Y, tensions are high between members of both temples."* or *"The new mayor has convinced the populace that military conquest is the path to bounty, many dwarves now have the 'take part in a battle' need."*
Imagine all the cool game-of-thrones stuff you could encounter with a system like that... assassination attempts, political weddings, protests, loyalties, etc. I know that we currently have a LITTLE of this with the villains system, but that's entirely external. Give me a softer version of to spice up internal affairs in my forts!

My guy this episode was absolutely fantastic, getting an Artist on board and music created really brought this story up to another level.
Honestly i'm so inspired by all your videos, I've tried to create my own video! I've started playing and recording the content, and just asked myself "but... do i speak what's happening now? Do i write a script? That's alot of work... when do i start drawing? Should i draw all the first 7 dwarves and read their whole bio description?" Questions after questions!
Also all the dwarves died to the undead, but there were some epic events along the line! Like the last dwarf alive was a Father with 2 Dwarf children who killed 5 Undead by himself where all other dwarves perished. And then just tried to survive, unable to rebuild or do anything productive as I wtched a couple years go by, hoping the oldest dwarven daughter becomes old enough to be able to work and fix up the base.
If you have any tips, I'd love to hear your process and how you go about doing everything. Much love, Zonalar.

I really like these 'special' forts with modded civs. But then again, you come up with interesting, novel concepts on a regular basis, regular dwarves or something different.
Also, props to the illustrator and mod-maker!
    Hooray for Bird Fortress!

What a fun concept! I'm still learning the intricacies of DF but a tree-house fort would be awesome to try! And I like the artwork used for this one! I can see it now; a mighty jet-block fortress high in the canopies of the oldest growth. An impressive sight to goblin and man, and a giant middle finger to the elves XD

I liked the tree fort idea and thought the bird mod was cool. This episode had a bunch of great stuff happen in it, but it felt sort of squished. Like two or three episodes of cool stuff crammed into one. I would have liked to see more of the things being built, the ponds, the treehouses. The finished product was really cool, but I did miss the excitement and anticipation of also getting to see the process.

shout out to Karir's magnificent thighs and calf, that is a land bird right there.
btw DF sprites are not specially hard to make, they just take A LOT of work because they have so much variation, so if you are not in a rush, just put the word out there that you are needing an artist for your mod, and someone will eventually show up, there are a lot of pixel artists out there willing to work on things for fun.

never skips leg day. not once.
yeah it's easy enough to make a pixel sprite, but in comparison it *is* a lot more than there used to be. If I was a modder I know for sure it'd be a major factor in whether I made mods anymore or not.

    Cute little settlement!
I like the avians. It makes me curious about how their eggs work and what needs these fellas have. They feel a little like elves, who also tame all sorts of weirdo animals.
Long-term I'd be worried about the water situation. I see no river on the map, a lot of ponds and a vague hint of aquifers.
