The one that was kicking hairs at you was a cutie had a cute lil bum too😊. They're all so adorable. My sister and I both had pneumonia and the a1 virus. She ended up in the hosp going through respiratory failure on feb 13th almost died twice. God brought her through it. She was in the hospital 6 days and just went back to work Mon. I've had covid b4 and was not this sick. I ended up with bronchitis since then. Love 3 of my favorite spders through all this😢😢. Hopefully get better soon. Glad ur better. A1 is no joke. I love these tiny enclosures. I much prefer them to deli cups where possible!
Something I'm noticing more and more online is how needed smaller enclosures are for slings! Breeders don't always give the best advice on them!

SICK ASS PANTHER TATTOO OH YEAH🔥🔥🔥 I actually just got my first tattoo AND tarantula. I got a t. vagans (did not know they had a rep for being angry lol) she is a sling and just successfully molted and I feel like a proud parent, as if my baby just said its first words or something

I just love you so much, watching you is relaxing. You are the reason I have all of my spiders, I first ventured into the world of Jumping spiders, and in January I got my first T. I now have 30 T's. Did I say that outloud LOL. they are addicting just like INK. I was at Tinley a couple of weekends ago, it was my 1st expo. I was bummed there were so few Spider people there. Central Il, here and my plan is to get to St. Louis this summer and see a show there or in the fall.

Glad you posted & are feeling better. I just bought a A. Moderatum juvie from my local pet store today! I have two now, my first is an unsexed sub adult A. Chalcodes that is currently in pre molt and has been in it’s burrow for the past months. Hoping it’s female ❤️🤞🏼

I did a small revamp to my C. versicolor's enclosure the other day (just moved it's main "hiding cork hollow "piece) and was amazed how big it is now. very shy, though. trying to encourage it to do more arboreal things lol. it keeps making it's web towards the floor of the enclosure. not really sure why.

Kat started my love for spider toes.
Kat, I also have a few Hommeoma peruvianums and the oldest of the 3 (2.5") is super wild. If it's on the side of the enclosure and I move it in the slightest, it literally jumps in the air and scurries around like a madman. I haven't seen a whole lot about their general temperament so I was wondering if they were all kind of like that. I originally got them because I thought they would be similar to the H chilense, but so far I could be wrong 😄

Had a question about the "stacking" of the enclosures, are there tarantulas that act like a beta fish would? And if you stacked/put them next to each other in that way they will act "aggressive", just curious 😊

Hi, I've got a question for you or anyone that may know in the comments, Is it ok to use fake moss/ grass in a jumping spider enclosure (obviously going to clean the heck out of it to make sure there's no chemicals) just really curious
Hi kat, josef here I do love watching you. But I do have a question. I just bought bunch of spiders and couple are very small. Like Brazilian white knee, about 1/4 inch what do you feed little ones like this?
I’m not Kat, but if it’s helpful:
- Pinhead crickets, if you have a source for them (these are freshly hatched crickets and are literally about the size of a pin head)
- Flightless fruit flies; I’ve read a diet of exclusively fruit flies is nutritionally insufficient, but they’re a staple for slings of smaller spiders such as jumping spiders and velvet spiders, so they can’t be all bad
- I’ve found that 1/4” slings will scavenge, so you can pre-kill small crickets, or pull the legs off large or medium sized crickets if you’re feeling savage, and they should eat the remains
I’ve currently got a collection of 8 Ts, and most of them I acquired as 1/2” slings or smaller, so I’m not the most seasoned keeper in the world, but I’m not without some experience, either

Q ,why are Spring Tails kept in a liquid ,instead of bio soil ?
They’re not kept in liquid exactly, although I can see why you would think that. They’re kept on charcoal, with water added. There’s a few reasons for this:
- Unlike other substrates, it’s easy to shake or blow springtails loose from charcoal and into your enclosure, or add water like Tarantula Kat does, and simply splash springtails into your new enclosure
- Charcoal is a good medium for growing bacteria, which springtails eat
- Charcoal is mold resistant, which is really important given most springtails need to be kept in a very humid environment
- In addition to being mold resistant, charcoal is also pest resistant; you’re much less likely to develop a mite infestation in charcoal than you are in other substrates
- I’ve read that springtails produce a waste that inhibits their reproduction, and that charcoal absorbs this waste; this may be true, but the source cited for the assertion does not clearly state that charcoal overcomes this issue, only that in laboratory studies springtails failed to reproduce after 12 days due to an undiscovered inhibitor, that was suspected to be either a form of bacteria, yeast, or fungi
It should be noted not everyone keeps their springtails in charcoal, as there are (you guessed it) multiple schools of thought and techniques around the keeping of these animals

Yes, the nose thing. I cannot possibly be the only one who wants/needs/desires an explanation, am I? "A stupid accident" I believe you said on the Gram. How stupid was it? Was it fall related? If so, why did you catch yourself with your nose? Dog related? If it is mr Tarantula Kat related I'll just assume that it is real private and stop pestering you about it. Sweet video as always. Stupid question, but you don’t keep your enclosure(s) in direct sunlight, right? The UV from sunlight could certainly bleach the mushrooms, but more importantly produce a greenhouse effect, raising the temperature inside the enclosure to dangerous levels for your T.
Again, really apologize if it’s a stupid question, but I’d rather ask a silly question than have you lose your favorite T without me mentioning something 😀
