I'm Italian and have quite a bit of experience with Latin pronunciation, I can assure you that 'purpurea' is pronounced poo-r-poo-ray-a (where the 'a' is very similar to the 'a' in 'glass'). Btw... Hi from Italy, 100% adore your content!
purpuea is definitely not the correct one. pur-pur-eh-uh.
@@synthiaify It really depends on how you pronounce the "u" in "pur". It's not like in the verb "purr", the Italian/Latin "u" is very distinct and closed, like, as said, the double "o" in "poo" (or, if you prefer, it's exactly how you'd pronounce "pooh" in "winnie the pooh").

@@mrspeigle1 goldfish surprisingly need a big amount of space to grow to full size a 1-10 gallon or bowl is not suitable and they need something like a 40 gallon or larger 🐸

@@cassieclover99 mhm study’s shown that goldfish in the wild thrive better than in captivity and get so big that they overtake populations of lakes witch is why when you release one it can be the size of a catfish or bigger.

Ooooh noo. I have a baby tortoise that pees like a Nerf gun... at the worst times.. if I get one of these I can use the 2 of them to make people social distance from me.
The bit with the music while she/he was grooming was sooo cute. Beautiful spider, I have a few different avic avic morph types. I do think tarantulas are like pokemons in how they evolve and often change their features, as well as sometimes attack methods if their temperament changes with a moult :P

I swear the new T was cleaning herself cause she was like, " arghh I touched a human... Cleannn". Purple is such an awesome colour too 🥰. Hopefully she will do great for you ☺️

I wish tarantula cribs shipped outside of the US. They look so well made.
not worth the money and shipping cost. acrylic is also not that great in the long run, begins to warm. the only reason they have such a rep is because of youtubers and the free products they give them so they can advertise their prodcuts. if it wasnt for that nobody would be aware of them. What you can do that is much cheaper is scavange or buy used cheap glass aquariums/terrariums. loads of people toss them out. Rip off the old silicone and you can easily cut the glass to your own dimension using a handheld glass cutter and silicone back up. Iv build all my glass tanks, upwards of about 45 with no more than 100 bucks.
When I first got my A. Metallica I didnt realize tarantulas groomed themselves so i literally thought she was biting her legs until i looked closer lmaooo

Recognized that sling right away… love purpureas, best avic to me! I know the versicolors are flashier but you just can’t beat that deep purple for me. Purpurea was my first T ever, unfortunately I got it as a sling and as in inexperienced keeper with a sling that can be very hard to read and very fickle I lost it after five pretty successful months… hope this one is doing well in your collection, for as gorgeous as these T’s are I don’t see a lot of big names in the hobby that keep them. :D

Thankyou for the letter you sent me today. It arrived safe. And i adore the little stickers you sent me. I put them on my laptop lid. And i showed them to my Chaco Golden Knee... I think she liked them too. Her name is SHANDI. Shes super cute and super sweet. Easy to do anything with and loves her food.
I also have a Green Bottle Blue called ACE. Hes very sweet and makes brilliant webs. A Burgandy Baboon called NIGHTMARE. She kinda lives up to her name. A Arizona Blonde who is the daughter of my fiirst T. Her name is ZOEY. And she loves all the food and attention she can get.
Im waiting on 2 Versacolours that are at the moment still a egg with legs. I cant wait to they are old enough.

Such a beautiful lil Avic! I had problems with my Avic tiny sling. Wouldn't eat no matter what I tried. I had great cross ventilation and proper conditions, but sadly, it died.
It’s hard to lose baby inverts. But I think anyone who keeps animals that, in the wild, have a Type 3 survivorship curve realizes quickly when they watch their babies that, “oh, yeah, you would most likely not have lived to adulthood in the wild.” So I think you’re right that some of keeping slings healthy does boil down to luck.

I have two of these and I love them. I find the purpurea are a little more bolty than the other avics and caribena's.
I'd love to take a second chance on this species as well. I had the same thing happen with a purpea and versicolor. so heart breaking

We dont have here those kind of enclosures (or i havent found ones) and i had to buy clear high boxes whitch are used for pasta. :) I drilled holes to the boxes and all my three arboreal T's are doing well in those (A. Purpurea, A, Sp. Peru purple and C. Versicolor). :) Hope this one makes it for you. :)

I got my c.versicolor as a sling off eBay, it’s getting big now
Lovely video Kat! What a beautiful T! If it's any help I haven't had any problems with Avicularia's dying from slings stage. At least i somehow managed to get my Avicularia. avicularia from 1.2cm to 5cm, my Avicularia, juruensis from 1.4cm to 4cm, my C. versicolor from 1cm to 3.5cm and my Ybrapora, diversipes from 1cm to 3cm. Plenty of time for things to go wrong though I suppose, plus I recently got and two more 1cm Avicularia's (A. metallica and A. 'Boa Vista') so I'll let you know if if have any problems, Then I can eat humble pie! *grin*. I did lose a Equadorian Orange Tree spider (Pseudoclamoris .gigas) through it's second moult though. The one I've had trouble with is the Eupalaestrus campestratus slings. Two died, so I'm on my last one....fingers crossed. It has moulted twice though so I might just be lucky this time!

Hi Kat, just wanted to say thanks for the content. Yourself and Dark Den's channels have gotten me into the hobby. on another note, earlier today I was in kind of a moral conundrum. I visited my local petco to get some items for my dog and I noticed one of their tarantulas could possibly be in danger. They have a Brachypelma boehmei for sell and it is clearly in premolt. I also noticed that they had about 5 to 6 crickets in the enclosure. As I was checking out I notified one of the employees of the situation. He didn't seem to care much but he did tell me he would let someone know about the situation. In your opinion, did I overstep my boundaries or should I have taken further action and notified the manager? FYI, the tarantula was fairly small around 2 to 3 inches. Thanks again and I hope to hear back from you.

Do you know if this is the southern or northern variety? We've had 4 A. Purpurea ourselves. First was bought as a sp. Ecuador, second was bought as a purpurea (looked different from the sp. Ecuador), and got another 2 as purpurea but they're identical to our first sp. Ecuador in appearance. 🤣

It trips me out to imagine us as the spiders *little humans* and that we we could get transporters in a weird box and we get fed burgers or oatmeal and people make a living off of us just....enjoying us. Haha idk maybe I'm going off the strips but agree or disagree? I think it's awesome btw
