The plant is a dracaena, they are very easy care so a great pick! Such a beautiful tarantula ❤

That plant is a Dracaena "Janet Craig". They require a lot more water than you'd think. You'll need to water it whenever the soil dries out completely. I have one in my crestie viv. They're great plants.
Her enclosure is awesome. The way she took a lil sip out of her water bowl was so cute. I dunno why, but I love catching tarantulas drinking water 😂

Love these videos. They first got me into jumping spiders, which dealt with my arachnophobia, and now I'm 5 T's in on mine/ my son's collection 😊

Oh! You have a Cotztetlana! Those are pretty common to find in the hooby here in Mexico but sadly is very difficult to find them on their natural habitat anymore :( ... they are really really slow growers haha I'm glad you have one!

Boom! Amazing enclosures! The live plant is easy. It can dry out. See the funnel top? You can top water in the hole. I've had one for several years and it's so resilient.
The new water dish is such a gorgeous color! What a lucky spider! It's a paradise!

You should also get a Common Snapping Turtle since you already have an Alligator Snapping Turtle and breed them so you can get hybrids
You have inspired me. I'm working toward setting up a good enclosure, then I am getting an Arizona Blond or similarly docile tarantula from my local pet shop, Reptile Junction (they specialize in reptiles and exotics)

A question for Kat (or any of the community): when you say you found decor items like the fossil rock, do you do anything to disinfect them? I'd love to use more natural pieces to decorate the enclosures but I'm nervous about potential pests, parasites or harsh chemicals

Hey Kat, I've been inspired by your videos and I am thinking about getting a tarantula. I haven't decided on a species yet. Does anyone have any beginner recommendations? Preferably one that isn't the biggest burrower, just so I see it every once in a while without having to harass the poor thing.
