- The 1987 Chevrolet Camaro "DSE Z" I caught up with it at The SEMA Show 2017...At first glance it looks like a IROC Camaro from back in the day...But as I found out in a phone interview...This Car is far from a stock IROC...As a matter of fact...it was never a IROC...But the styling does resemble the IROC Camaro..But cooler!
It has a completely custom fabricated front end...A LS7 that turns 8500 rpm under the hood..Of course being a Detroit Speed build....It has all the go fast stuff Detroit Speed offers...Very cool Car for sure...Check it out!!!

My first car was a 88 iroc with a tpi 350 auto, swapped the auto out for a t5 5 speed. At 18 years old I learned how to change clutches and input shafts quite regularly. Fun car miss it dearly 20 years later. Beautiful built rock on 3rd gen f body! Always be my favourite.

I owned a stock 87 IROC TPI. It may have been worked on it was very quick & cornered like a go kart. Only thing the T tops leaked like a sieve. Loved it but had to sell it. This one is very nice.

Very cool, it's one of those builds that's done SO well you basically need a tour like your interview because it's a TON of subtle modifications. It may not be a custom part of the build, but it's really nice seeing this generation in a true hardtop. After all the majority of this generation Camaro came with factory T-tops or at some point had aftermarket sunroof.
I'm a fan of the T-Top....but if I was to do this...I would have to go with the hardtop...
This is how I want my black 89 RS to look. Completely beautiful! About to be swapping my 2.8 v6 out for a 350 vortec soon!

IV BEEN IN MORE THEN A FEW BUILT CAR'S & I HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR ALL CAMARO'S. HAD A 1973 SB400 BORED .030 OVER TO A 406, USING A STROKER CRANK,AMBER LIGHTWEIGHT PISTONS, 11/1 COMPRESSION, CIRCLE TRACK CAM FROM SUMMIT, & WITH ALOT OF OTHER GOODIES, SET UP FOR A 1/8TH MILE IN A MINT 79 Z-28! HAD ALOT OF FUN IN THAT BEAUTY!!!

I've always been a fan of the third gen camaro and T/A... Cool car Scotty... I used Detroit Speed on a lot of my builds, actually if the parts is available through Detroit Speed i would probably buy it over any other... I'll tell you, it's usually kinda pricey but everything I've purchased through them is absolutely phenomenal as far as looks, fit, and performance... Really top notch stuff... I very highly recommend Detroit speed products!

Wow, very thoroughly re-engineered 3rd gen Camaro! Very well done, perhaps I'm in the minority, but 2nd and 3rd gen F-bodies are the best looking F-bodies to me. 3rd gens are slowly gaining momentum as they have passed the rock bottom price-wise phase and are now rising in value as guys my age(early-mid 50s) were young adults when these were new and are looking to buy these(and Fox-body Mustang 5.0s) cars and retro-mod them with all the cool modern drivetrains/suspensions that are now available. Sweet Camaro!

On the hood?....Stock IROC part...
The ones on this car aren't stock. This style was stock on the IROCs, but DS used aftermarket ones from TrackSpec(I think). the original stocks were non functional where as these are very functional.
Can't wait to bring my ass 4th gen out....l this is real nice and not over done.👍
