Supercharger Inlet & Outlet Install - Eaton MP45 Prep Part 02 | Supercharging the MX5 / Miata Ep 20

- It's time to get some G19 Engineering parts bolted on to the Eaton MP45 Supercharger in preparation for it to be installed into the Mazda MX5. Being originally from a Mini Cooper S, this supercharger needs some modifications to enable it to function in the engine bay of the MX5, and this is where the G19 inlet and outlet comes in to play. These parts are designed & manufactured in house at G19 to replace the MP45's water pump takeoff, the inlet, and the outlet (which also incorporates the OEM Mini bypass valve). Let's get this thrown together!

Great videos mate, I’ve had this kit for a while but unfortunately not had the time to fit it, hopefully seeing you doing so will motivate me to do it more! Look forward to seeing your solution to mounting the Intercooler and piping it, unfortunately I have an na so my light motor assembly is in the way for where you’re most likely gonna pipe
Thanks mate! The kit has been a breeze to fit, you could have it done in a day I'm pretty sure - takes me longer due to filming 🙄 The intercooler fitment and plumbing is my next job so I'll be sure to document that entire process as well. You might have already seen it but a few episodes ago I relocated the radiator which is going to help with the intercooler install massively. Not sure how applicable it is on a mk1, but it's something you could look into. Cheers.

Decided to derust.... Sort suspension and handling before turning up the power.
Still undecided to be honest.... It's a lot of money, so I'll be watching closely to get your 'seat of the pants dyno' testing done once on boost!
Car looks fantastic, quality work you've put in so far, and it'll be a great base should you decide to go forced induction later on.
I decided to supercharge mine first purely so I could make this build series, then focus on supporting mods after. Truthfully I had hoped the series would be more popular, which would justify me spending some more money on the car, but so far this isn't the case!

Installs seems pretty easy, did you have to reroute the throttle or anything ? I’ve seen other kits need that
In this configuration you keep the throttle where it is from factory. I'm currently adapting the setup to 2 throttles which I will document in a later video.
@@FastRust I see, you wouldn’t happen to know if this kit would work in a LHD vehicle? I asked g19 but their email response time is lacking. What’s the purpose of the second throttle? I would like to do this to my rusty 1.6 as a starter project as I’d rather break my current one than whatever cleaner one I get next 😆
LHD I don't know, sorry. I did see a post on G19s Facebook page months ago about it, maybe have a search on there. The reason I'm fitting a 2nd throttle is to reduce noise, it was so loud with just one. When I've tested it I will do an update vid.
