Epic content! Really appreciate the time you’ve taken to upload the finer detailed like coatings and where to buy stuff. I have a 1.6NA V-Spec. I’ve done a Torsen II upgrade this winter along with some general servicing like timing belt and water pump. I have also just bought all the bits for the DIY intake. Luckily I’ve already deleted the carbon filter so hopefully won’t take too long. Thanks again
Snap. I did the Torsen upgrade over winter as well. The car is hilarious fun now. Glad you enjoyed the series good luck with the intake upgrade. I know from comments the filter I used is no longer available so you'll have to source something similar.
Thanks Leo. I agree, for the money I don't think you could do much better. I get the impression turbo might be a little more expensive but either way, you can't go wrong.
Hi there, I think I'm just up the road from you and would like to see your car. I've got a mk2 I'm trying to do something with but finding it too expensive and technic over my head...
Super thankful for having somewhere undercover to work on cars. Especially in winter. You done well to grenade one of these engines! Thankfully they're not that expensive.. for now.
@@FastRust I have not changed the oil for 5000km (after changing it once from purchase), and it turns out previous owner did not take care of the engine as the washers were really worn already + there was an oil leak near the gearbox that worsened it, but now its back with fresh block and gaskets!
Haven't driven it between the supercharger install and remote tuning. Dangerous to drive it on the basemap at this point because there's no mapping for boost.
here in the states there is a company that swaps cobalt ss superchargers onto the mini cooper s i am interested in learning if the cobalt supercharger can bolt on with the same kit for the cooper supercharger
Interesting. I'd be very surprised if the mounting points for the superchargers were the same.. but worth looking into. The M45 isn't large enough to make big power/boost on an mx5 (especially the 1.8) but they are cheap, reliable and readily available here in the UK
Love the super low miles on your mx5 bro! I bought my nb2 mx5 in 2020 of January. 64k miles on it it was on Craigslist in Alabama. Owners wife had went to the store in it and when she got home forgot to pull the e brake (this was the original owner of the car bought in 04 new he just hardly drove it) so it slid down the driveway and wrecked into a pole on the right rear tail light and quarter panel. He was asking 3500 for it. So I emailed him low balled him said I’ll give you a grand for it. He said no give me 2500. I said look it’s wrecked it needs a new soft top. I said I’ll give you 1500 and he took it! Drove to my house in Tennessee and dropped it off! Sourced oem rear qauarter, deck lid, rear crash bar, taillight, antenna, twilight, new tan top from a guy in Kentucky for 650. Found body in my hometown. Guy put it back together and paint for 1800. So all in 3950. Favorite care I’ve ever owned by far! I put about 10k on it since I purchased it in 2020. Love you ur videos. Cheers!
Hey John. Thanks, I know, quite rare with so low miles - probably should have kept it standard really, oh well! Good job with your mx5 (miata!), always good to see one getting fixed up rather than scrapped. They are such reliable cars as long as you don't let rust get to them. You got the 1.8 or 1.6?
Without abusing it & on a long run I can't say I've noticed much difference from stock. 30mpg at a guess? Obviously when you open the taps this drops drastically!
I can assure you it was real money! Ask the girlfriend. About 2k dollars but you get stuff cheaper it seems so poss less. Check out the spreadsheet all parts are listed in that.

mx5 + force induction = best fun for money. well done!!!

S/Cing my 5 next week so your channel will come in handy...good job well done mate..be good to see some drives soon, cheers from New Zealand
Cheers mate. Glad to hear it. Good luck with your project. Driving videos are coming 👍🏻
Looking forward to the first drive. That'll be when the costs no longer matter and "man maths" kicks in 🤣
Always trust man math 🤣 Driving videos coming in the near future!

Hi Stewart. Send me an email at teamfastrust@gmail.com. We'll get something arranged.
Well I only discovered this now lol but I can't wait to watch the rest of this series and can't wait to see the first drive!!!
Great to hear!! Hope you enjoy it. New vids will be done as soon as poss.
Great build man. I have really enjoyed watching these!
Great to hear. Thanks man.
Wish I had a smol garage to work on my poor miat. Recently she was revived as the engine decided to spit crankshaft - rod washers.

looks really neat and tidy, have you been driving it before tuning or using another daily car ?

& thanks. Super happy with how the install turned out.

good job. still waiting for the 0-60 mph after
Having a go at that this week if the weather doesn't spoil things
Nice spreadsheet. 😉
Yeah to say I've never done a spreadsheet in my life it's not bad! Ha. Appreciate it 👊🏻

Hey
What is the fuel consumption with a quiet ride (city/highway)?
I'm going to supercharge my daily miata, so fuel consumption is important =)
Without abusing it & on a long run I can't say I've noticed much difference from stock. 30mpg at a guess? Obviously when you open the taps this drops drastically!
Cost of fuel and other liquids?
Supercharger oil is in there. Not including fuel.. if you want to go down that road how about tax? Insurance?? Where do you stop?
@@FastRust until the last penny. Lol
Ha. Just forget about those things like every other car guy!! They don't count.
How much longer do we have to wait? I'm itching to see the power results!!!
Not long! Editing the video as I write this.
@@FastRust :D :D
How much was it in real money?
I can assure you it was real money! Ask the girlfriend. About 2k dollars but you get stuff cheaper it seems so poss less. Check out the spreadsheet all parts are listed in that.
mate how come still 720p in 2022 lol 🤣
I know, slipping. I tried 1080 last year but my laptop crapped itself trying to edit it. New equipment needed.
Supercharging an engine that small is just an exercise of ignorance.
Behave!
Not nearly as much as your comment is though eh.
We can tell who hasn't driven a well tuned supercharged miata 😂
