Just watched this movie. I had to replay that dance scene a few times. The joy and freeness that they showed was amazing. Plus the music is actually a serious bop. Great story for sure with great acting.
I wish Taika would stick to bringing indigenous creators and their stories to the world, and ignore the big Hollywood crap. This stuff is awesome, and important.
Agreed. I think getting known in Hollywood has helped him get these films made. Maybe eventually he'll move to just them. Or be able to support more small creators.
Excuse me but #1: don’t corner Indigenous stars to the point where you eliminate our options. #2: how do you think Taika pays for all our Indie or blockbuster Indigenous projects ?
I love listening to the grandma’s wisdom. The laugh ceremony. The way the relationships listened and progressed. Their dancing with the radio got me I felt the music in my heart. I want to do a moving meditation to that music every day. The humanity has so much to teach. I’m grateful to watch this beautiful movie
I watched the movie it was great and that grandma she's a full of wisdom plus i loved how she treats her grandkids, frybread face was fun and awesome too
Just finished this film. Instant classic 😢 Like reading a novel. I'm not even native and it left a hole in my heart. In the future I hope there is a huge Native American city. With food and architecture, somewhere in the middle of USA 😢 and the native people never get out mixed from their race
Where I live it’s the native capital of the us. Full of natives here. I’ve always said I wanted to move but don’t think I ever will cause it just wouldn’t be the same anywhere else.
this movie made me so emotional idek why (maybe it’s cause of shark week) but the ending scene & whenever dawn was w her grandma & she was showing her the blanket making i teared up. being native is so powerful even in the “little” things. made me reevaluate my own life
Even if 10% of the views watched the film. It made it's money back. Although, the recent Sherman Alexie style dramas haven't even touched on the majority of the culture. The nuance between tribes or bands and their everyday struggles. Let's just talk about Navajos. :D
@@magesalmanac6424 I think (I hope) the OP meant that non-native Americans haven't done enough cinematically for native Americans, not that native Americans haven't done enough for themselves.
im sorry but are they supposed to be native americans or mexican americans...? cause that guy in the beginning has a mexican accent and so do they... are these like, native americans but with a mexican accent cause they're from texas or arizona or new mexico or whatever?
Complete trash of a movie. the only person i can relate to was the elder/grandma. My pet peeve when they cast people that cant speak navajo CORRECTLY!!!

Like Tim Burton did the Big Hollywood crap so he could have money for his good movies. Taika is doing the same.

Why is the character called “frybread face” ??
Taikiki is going to make everything fruity
Moving film of subtleties, gentleness, humor, family and authentic self discovery. We need more representation like this
I fell inlove with this movie. We want more of this kind of film.
check out "moonrise kingdom" and "little miss sunshine"

But on a real note do you think we’re like extinct or something? 😂 we’re here. Still living our native ways.
*Heartwarming beautiful movie...Actors owned their parts! Very authentic.* 💖
Looks great! But no hating on Stevie 😂😂 she’s a queen!
The dance scene brought me such joy. My fave scene in any movie in a long time.

I just must be different in my taste for movies. I gave it 45 minutes and thought the movie was unwatchable. Didn't like it at all.
