Inspired by true events, college sophomore Clemence Miller is coming home to the suburbs and a bedroom in her family's basement. After dropping out of school with a newly diagnosed mental illness, she now faces the challenges of bipolar disorder, the responsibilities of adulthood, and her damaged relationships with family and friends. Clemence struggles to figure out what it means to heal without driving everyone around her… well, crazy. As if reckoning with everything and everyone she has taken for granted wasn’t enough, Clemence has to wrestle with the thought that on top of it all, she might also just have a really bad personality.

@@fullspectrumfeaturesThank you! Will definitely support this one. :)
i love the part about “maybe i just have a bad personality.” wow i’ve thought that before.
most americans do in fact have awful personalities.
Me too
well, do you?
"Eventually chaos settles"
Wow. That is reassuring in the most realistic way because that is true. It's not "Everything is going to be sparkly perfect" but eventually things calm down.
"After awhile,chaos settles"
"On top of the mental illness, I wonder if I have a bad personality"
Bro. I need to watch this.
So, I'm not alone in this. Cool.
Same feeling watching this
You're never alone. Remember: you have more people for you, than against you 🙏🏾
@@RealOGLG thank you for being kind
As someone who's struggled with bipolar for most of his life, films like this are very important for the world to see what life is like for us both with humor and pain. I look forward to seeing this. It looks like it may be one of the ones that gets the depiction right.
ok narcisist
@@alansmithee417 GFYS
@@alansmithee417 Well done showing you are a disgusting person. At least someone with major mental issues have a reason for acting strange. You just do it because you are a bad person.
@@alansmithee417 why did You write this?
@@karolinaj539 Because it is, in fact, not "very important for the world".
As someone to lives with a diagnosis mental disorder the phase "you have to work in this, it's never going to go away" hit me like a ton of bricks. It's 100% it's a daily work you have to get through every day and I love that are more movies willing to show that you can live with a mental desorder and be happy.
I can confirm this is worth a watch, I have bi polar & can relate.
Laying here in bed in the middle of the night in Portland. Cant sleep. Trying to stay out of my head and failing miserably. Try to find a mpvie i can relate to. This show is great, but the comment section is what i really needed. Bless you all.
I'm glad mental health is finally getting acknowledged openly in our culture. It can be very disorienting and frustrating for the people who love those who suffer from it, and obviously they themselves too. It can be downright heart breaking.
The stigma of having mental health issues is becoming less and more friends and family are learning to try to understand loved ones who have mental health issues. I'm not bipolar, but I do have major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety and Complex PTSD. I used to not tell people about it... because it made THEM feel uncomfortable. Then I realized, why should I keep silent when I'm suffering when I know others are as well. So, instead of hiding, I've become very open about it and an advocate. We all need to have empathy for those struggling, and trying to understand what and how people with mental health issues feel and go through on a daily basis is how that empathy is gained.
my bipolar mom killed my 10yo brother. so there's that. you know...keep playing the victim.
@@IhaytFukkingsocialmedia people kill others every day, and most of them aren't bipolar. You're the one that's going to need to come to terms with that, without generalizing. It's only gonna make things worse and more confusing in your mind to choose to think this way. It's also highly hereditary, look it up. I hope you have access to therapy.
@IhaytFukkingsocialmedia I'm sorry that happened. That's awful. I hope you are seeking out someone to talk to.
That said, your very personal experience does not extend to everyone with bipolar disorder.
Finally a film that truly explains bipolar disorder - (although I hope they also explain there's a spectrum, and she appears to be at one end!) I've never seen it properly depicted. Many people know the word but few really understand what it means.
If Gerri - I mean, J. Smith Cameron - is in this movie, then I am watching it. I will watch anything with actors from Succession in it.
Yes same here!!
Four Non Blondes intro is what sold me on this (and Steve Buschemi, of course!)
Mental illness (all diagnoses) is, (are) unfortunately, plagued with a stigma that society has, for hundreds of years, associated as a condition (s) that is (are) separate from the physical/biological health issues - and only until recent years have researchers began to connect the two and educate the public with their studies that not only are each of us individual in our person-in-environment treatment programs, but that all medication is not a one-size-fits-all solution; the two aspects of our existence/homeostasis/balanced lifestyle are multifaceted and sometimes require alternative options that don't go with "normal" or "expected" standards.
I love movies like this that help to shed light on issues like Borderline Personality, Bipolar 1 or 2, anxiety disorders, and autism. Education is the first step in prevention, autonomy, respecting individuality, and breaking stereotypes.
parenthesis the fuck out of me, damn
So good. A hug.
What the heck this is already on Peacock! 😮
crying my heart out. this is me.
I saw Steve Buscemi and thats all I need to see the movie.
Excellent cast and I'm glad there's a movie made about this!
I love this. Seems like another rare gem like Wallflowers🥂👏🏾
This is way too relatable 😮 At least. the subject is no longer absolutely taboo.
Movies with decent looks at mental illness are always welcome
What a cast!
Steve B. Is the best
This looks great! Will def check this out!
I need to see this.
love it! great production values.
This movie is soooooo goooooood and has enough warmth to get you through it

Why haven’t I heard of this?!

Looks amazing.
Geri!!!! Yessssssssssssssssssssssssss!
This looks so good but also too real!
Finally something original!
i have ttm and its now in control but being just a teenager and knowing you have a disorder that will never go away breaks my heart.
@@QUINTBLINT yeah thankyou ❤️😊
Hi! so, people frequently will say, "it will never go away" however: Much of this can be balanced, and as you Mature, you will find, that sometimes, like Allergies, you "outgrow" it, literally through Tissue growth, and maturation, and body processes. However, please be wary of drugs, street drugs, alcohol, and things like that. I will sincerly tell you, that those substances, may initially "feel like it helps" but do not, the body is usually already out of whack. Do get exercise because it naturally stimulates growth and hormonal balance. Take heart that caring people are always innovating new methods, and I am one of them. Many people like you, who seem to have a "disorder" are actually highly intelligent and it is not the mind, it is some of the mind's tissues or endocrine functions that need healing. Mental health is physiology, compounded by thoughts and feelings. Best wishes to you. Be a Light in the World like you are intended to! You will do great things
@@TwinFlameReconnections thank you so much and best wishes to you too. ❤
I'm a trichster as well. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get in control? I've been taking NAC and it's helping but I always seem to relapse after 6 months!
@@Sol89weee hi! Its been two times I Have got into the tmm phase and the time in rn I dont get urges to pull hairs which I constantly had in that phase.
What helped me was understanding and realisation.
You must know your mind well (meditation didnt helped me may be i didnt do it well. )like whats thats tied up with your tmm ig yk like tmm often comes with other metal disprder like anxiety, depression, excessive stress etc.
So first be clear with why you had it at the first place what triggered it. You know
Second, its a ocd so whats the misconception you have and then work on it to clear it...itll take time but realisation is the key.
Third, keep yourself busy. Do thingd you love foucus on action. Always try Be positive and keep going.
Fourth, never loose hope thats the necessity
and yk medication wont help a lot or in long so try to not depend on them tho consult doc in need and try to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle by spending time with friends family and yourself like do take care of yourself do work out and have a good sleep everyday :)
Fifth, music i cant tell you how much it helped me and keep in mind to not to listen sad songs a lot it d affects your emotions...
Hope this helps,
Do ask if have any further questions ill be happy to help if i could :)
I relate so hard to this xx
This looks so good!
I absolutely loved this movie 🌞
Wow, they finally made a film about my life!
Wyatt Oleff! RIP I Am Not Okay With This.
Ugh Gerri is the no nonsense woman i would want to whip my life into shape.
This looks really good
This looks good.
Finally💗
I can see this movie appealing to anyone except those that have to constantly deal with bipolar friends or family. I like movies that don't remind me of the torment of life.
That was a nice movie. Shorter than most
Oh dear Lord this family is WAYYYYYYYY MORE dysfunctional than mine 😳😱😳
this looks so real,
❤❤
Gerri being a mother figure again 😆 I'm seated!!
looks amazing haha
This is my this life story.
I've never seen a bipolar individual without a family that caused/exacerbated the condition.
@@thomashaugh8720 I don't know if you noticed, but there's not a lot of poor people on those stages
Yeah, there's probably some genetic causation. And, too, hard to be "normal" when you've never experienced it; dysfunctional people have children, and do the best they can, and their kids grow up screwed without knowing why or how.
I'm 65 and I've only recently realized my great grandmother was legitimately mentally ill. It answers a lot of questions going back as far as I can remember.
I want to state that my mother did a very good job overcoming her grandmother's influence. But she also refused to talk about her, and it wasn't till I was an adult that I realized I knew nothing about her father's mother. Nothing. And a lot longer to realize that was an important gap in my development.
Granted, I'm not personally bipolar, but there is a genetic neurological challenge in my family tree.
GERRI!!!!
the background song for this trailer is fade away by susanne sundfor. And all of a sudden I know what my purpose on earth is for, I was made for this moment.
well this hit
This looks like a really good movie.
sorry i just saw steve and screamed.
Hi! It's me!
I love movies that have the dad as the sweet guy
Ah fuck yea Susanne Sundfor! Fade Away is my fucking jam.
Andrew Callaghan looks great
very funny and realistic bipolar comedy.lol
j smith cameron 😭😭😭
Reminds me of "Lost in Translation."
Oh my god I couldn't even get through this fuckn trailer
Susanne Sundfør is now mainstream?!? ❤️
Literally me the movie
If anyone thought they had bad days of depression, you watch this trailer and realise, nope your fine your actually rather chipper on a daily basis.
am not in a mental space to watch this cuz its simply too similar to my life, i also worry if i have a bad personality
Does this take place in the 1990s ?
Feel seen
hey it's 4 non blondes!
I feel seen 🥹
I soo wanna see this!! looks amazing but I just got thrown off a bit by the 4 non blondes song, ugh. lol
omg gerri
Wow… just what we need… there I was thinking I’d like to see a film that is borderline positive (also noninclusive) perhaps we can even get back to the idea that film making is an artform?
This looks really good. I'd love to see more (or any) content about borderline ---- everything out there is riddled with stigma and stereotypes. I'm a big fan of Girl, Interrupted but it'd be nice for something new to come out.
THIS ISNT BORDERLINE PERSONALITY. IT'S BIPOLAR A DEPRESSIVE DISORDER. Shit it's not even the same AXES!!!! PLEASE DOWNVOTE HEALTH MISINFORMATION!!!!

Yet another movie about Bipolar Type 1. I wish someone told the world that type 2 exists and what it looks like. It’s not the same.
Until your message I had no idea, and like me many other people.
I'm sorry, you're right.
So tell it.
Omg me too! I have Bipolar Type 2.
What’s stopping you from telling the world, then?
Idk if it's because I've been watching too much Cobra Kai but I feel like the guy who plays Demetri should have played her brother.
This has some funny, but it’s such a serious issue being portrayed. Hopefully this film will bring some light to families and friends dealing with someone they love with mental illness and depression. ❤
looks hard
This movie sounds very accurate showing a person with bipolar illness. Her family is so down on her. She needs some peers who also have mental illness. And treatment. I strongly dislike her family saying "You need to work at it"
Anyone with any health issue needs to work at it, so why would mental health be different? Working at it can involve therapy, medication, etc. Why do you perceive it as a negative?
You do need to work on it and it is not only hard on yourself but also on the persons you involve. Don't get lazy because you have a diagnosis.
Kanye needs to watch this
Fousey
Well same except my life is not a movie so things won't work out in the end
"Mental health" is so en vogue
I feel like this movie came out last year....and the year before that .......and the year before that.
finally a woman who actually represents woman?
Lifetime movies are great.
They really nail the “old lady” demographic perfectly.
is this the lady bird house?
Is it possible that 30 to 40 % of the population of the USA have whatever she has? That would explain a lot.
Well, I don’t know about ‘you’… but I feel better.
😉♥️👍🏽
Who would want to watch this??
All i think about is how much the family endures to deal with these people
“These people”? Appreciate the sentiment but when it’s someone you deeply love, you just accept it as part of who they are.
@@lindaengelbrechtsorin i understand that. Kinda spoke quickly. ive been wronged by these “types” of individuals. So, i stand a little biased. Tired of hearing about them as “normal” or wanting acceptance when some of them are are a walking bulldozer.
