On watching this video again I've noticed I accidentally double-layered some audio between 4:15 and 4:30. What I'm saying there is that it doesn't matter if you attach the connecting pole with the connection points up or down as they can be adjusted later. Thanks!
I'm a 72 yr. old woman, Got my set up done thanks to your video. Only took me a bit more than 5 hours, but hey, I got it done.
Setting this up was a little overwhelming, I can’t imagine trying to get through it without your video! Thank you SO much for this!!
I'm really glad it helped you, happy drumming!
Thanks man, put this together Christmas Eve evening for my 10 yr old, I would have been lost without you.
Dude, doing the exact same thing
That makes 3 of us! Thank you!
haha me too
Same!! Midnight on Christmas Eve, this video was an absolute saviour!!!!
Thanks so much!!!
So did I and my kid is also 10 🤘🏻
I have been playing drums for 50 years, put many kits and gear together and I couldn't figure this out without your video. The picture instructions as well as the official Alesis set-up video don't contain the vital information about the "clicking" rotation of the mounts. Thank you!
That’s what lead me here, you’d think they would include that…
Excellent, I got the Drum set for my 12 Year old son. Your video helped in fixing the entire drum set at ease.
This video saved me, I was so frustrated with the lack of detail of the picture instructions that came with it and had no real insight on how or what and why on placement. You rock
Thank you Kev for guiding me during this daunting task.
This was immensely helpful, Kev! Super appreciate your time here
Just picked up the kit! Thanks for the build and tips! Really usefull!
Got this for my daughter’s first drum kit so it’ll come in handy Christmas morning 😂 Thanks!
Thank you so much. Your instructions are way better than the official ones. I am a dummy drummer. My very first time buying a drum and have zero knowledge about it. I have no clue which is which but cannot find any drum anatomy or clear instructions how to plug the cord and set it up. I should have watched this video earlier. Been trying to assemble it for 3 hours. Thank you so much. I am trying to save this video but there is no option to do so.
Thanks for the comment, I'm really glad the video helped you, happy drumming!
This drum kit is more complicated than I thought. I'm also a complete beginner and had to replay a few times. And now that it's set up.. where on earth is the sound!
@@mekuebeagles7683 you need a headset or speaker.
Thank you for doing this! I can't imagine figuring it out on my own.
Just built mine, thank you for doing this for us all! It was very helpful!
Great video! Really useful. Thanks Kev
Great video. Really simple to follow. Thank you 👍
Excellent video and explanation Kev.
Thank you so much! This helped me tremendously and my son is excited to play!
Thanks so much for the wonderful guide! It was easy to follow, and now I'm ready to rock! 😀🥁🤘
Thanks for the comment, I'm really glad it helped. Rock on!
What a lifesaver! I would have been totally adrift without this video. Thank you SO much!
Great video. My son and I could follow it easily and complete the setup. Very helpful.
Thank you so very much for this video. I couldn't have put my set together without it!!! Rock on!
awesome thanks for detailed video
merry christmas and happy new year thanks for the video got this for myself to make recording easier very helpful.!!Appreciate your time.
Thank you for the comment, merry Christmas and happy new year to you too, really glad the video helped you out, happy drumming!
The official instructions are useless. You are an angel in UA-cam form! Thank you so much for the video 🙏🥁🔥
Thanks for the lovely comment, happy to help! Happy drumming.
Excellent video instruction. Clear and Concise - many many Thanks.
Really glad it helped, happy drumming!
Loved this bloody video I wudve been so lost without this
Thanks man it would have been impossible without you
Great job - thanks Kev! I'm going to take my rubbish attempt apart and do it your way 🤓
Thank you so much, Kev:) I am an absolute newbie to drums, just starting out today, and your comprehensive guidance on how to assemble Nitro Max kit helped in a massive way. The company instructions provided with the edrum kit are almost useless. Great deal of you taking so much time and explaining every tiny detail. I completed watching your whole video in about 3 hours with pauses and assembling my brand new Nitro Max edrum kit alongside you:) Now gonna play the drums:):) Huge thunbs up, mate👍
Thank you so much for this comment, I’m really glad it helped you to get things set up. Happy drumming and best of luck learning the instrument.
Much more helpful than the actual instructions.
Thanks so much!
My kit arrived just in time for my birthday, thank you sooo much for this video!, far more easier and fast to assemble !!!!
Happy birthday! Glad it helped, happy drumming.
Thanks you're a life saver for a poor a handyman like me. Nailed it, it works !
Muchas gracias me sirvió muchísimo! Saludos desde Colombia ! 🇨🇴
Tnx man!! Great help!
You are amazing, thank you so much for this video❤
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and so easy to follow. How do you turn the volume up on individual drums? My snare is a lot quiter. I have tried various things i have read online but nothing seems to ne working. Thanks
I did not realize that the mounting brackets spin around (you do briefly this at 7 minutes in but I feel like this should be highlighted more). The instructions do not mention this at all. I was so confused.
Love the video on the max, Im thinking of getting one. I can't see anywhere online what the recommended space for the kit is, do you happen to have a guidance? I've got a small space 4 ft x 2.5/3ft max
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
thank you so much for this video really ! I bought the kit and the instructions manual is very bad. Without this video it would have been a nightmare to set it up
ferfect guide, much better than the manual, thanks
Awesome video. Thanks for the details during assembling.
Just have a question:
What's the size of the biggest "leg"?
I want to transport the kit unassembled inside of a travel luggage.
I am wondering if I can do that.
I've got the following dimensions in the alesis website:
Dims (HDW): 12.12" x 21" x 36.2" / 30.78cm x 53.34cm x 91.94cm
But it no seem that the height is just 12.12"/ 30.78cm.
Thank you very much!
Really helpful. Thank you. Could you do something about how best to set up the kit? Height, distance between the drums, etc....
Thanks for the comment, you can see my video about this here: ua-cam.com/video/7pDTOj3lLYY/v-deo.htmlsi=WT_Ttyuj9DPpv56y
Saved my butt on this video. Would have never got this together without it. Now just need help figuring out the module.
Really glad it helped, some trial and error and playing around with the module is recommended however I'm probably going to be doing an in depth video on the module soon.
Thank you so much for this excellent video! I would never have gotten it right with the crappy instruction that came with the set.
Thanks bro, ur a legend
I am completely new to drums and was setting this up for my 10yo and then after figuring out why there is no sound - we can only hear sound via headset or an amp which I have none of so need to go out and buy these items. It wouldn't be a problem if there was a store near me but I got this drumkit from another country and so now need to order and wait again. I wish people reviewing these electronic drums sets would emphasise on this.
It would also be helpful if you could do a video on how the module works. But thanks for you video. It was your video that we finally settled on to assemble this drumkit. The cabling was very confusing for complete newbies who don't know what what is.
thank you so much! mine didn’t come with any instructions besides for using the module and there’s no saved instructions online so you are a SAVIOR
Bro really helped me
Interesting to note that the cables all have daul zone/stereo jack plugs on them - I wonder if they're going to do a marketing ploy and re - release this exact kit with dual zone pads some time in the future?
I'm going to try it with one of my Roland pads,it could be they just used these cables to save money.....time will tell. I'll be back. 😊
Did you end up trying it ?@@IansDrumsandBass
@@wndrflx Yes, the drum pads are dual zone, I tried one cymbal and it wasn't but I have e feeling that some of them maybe. I have 3 crashes and a ride on my Max.
Hi, thanks for the comment, in the previous line-up the Nitro Mesh shared the same module as the Surge Mesh, with the difference that all of the Surge Mesh pads were dual zone. My guess would be that they plan to do the same with a new Surge Mesh kit soon, using the module from the Nitro MAX.
@@RhythmRoomMusicSchool I'm hoping they bring out a Max with dual zone pads. Also the Max has different toms - no rims which is awesome.
Thank you! This is great, the official instructions are lacking. I've been trying to get it setup properly for days and it just felt like I couldn't get it right! And then I realized that the official instructions showed to put the tom arms incorrectly on the inside of the drum rack, not on the outside like you did. That makes everything fit much better! Although, how in the world would you be able to fit another tom on the right side with the official expansion pack??
Yeah this got me the first time I put it together, it all seemed too crammed and I managed to suss it out in the end, also the instructions says to put the dual zone cymbal (cymbal pad P?) In place of the high-hat 🙄 you'd think a company like Alesis wouldn't have cowboy instructions...
Do you have any guides on adjusting the kick pedal or if it’s even possible? (Beater angle, spring tension)
I play open handed (Carter Beauford, Simon Phillips etc). Would I be able to lower the hi hat itself and / or the horizontal tube it is mounted to near to the height of the snare ?
Hi, do you happened to know how to enter into a pairing mode for bluetooth? I got a new iPad and every time I turn on the module, it just automatically connects to other device and it is not discoverable by my new device. Thanks.
Getting mine tomorrow. Question; Theoretically, I could decide to put one Rack tom up and put the other by the floor tom trigger to resemble a single rack and two floor tom config, right? I don't see why not but I don't know so I was curios.
Yes, that's what I've done and I've lowered the ride and put it in place next to the 1st tom, essentially you can lay it out however you want 🤘
You mentioned the angle of the Tom’s what about the angle of the cymbals? This video very helpful thank you so much
Hi, thanks for the comment, same kind of rule, not facing you directly or completely flat, a slight tilt towards you is all that's needed. They shouldn't be too high either. Hope that helps!
do u have a video showing how works the module of this drum ? and how to conected it on interface to gargeband?
Does the kit come with the 2 speaker cables to connect an amp speaker ?
I thought there were pieces missing but then I watched your video and realized there were pieces missing in my brain.
Thank you! your video was a life saver yesterday when I opened the box :D I told my wife that this long-hair dude is my BEST FRIEND now haha :)
Tell me please - I experience this Kickdrum Double Triggering Issue....Is there anything you can recommend to fix it?
Thanks for the comment, really glad it helped and good to make a new best friend! 😆
You can probably resolve this by changing the sensitivity for the pad in the settings of the drum kit module, you can find the module manual online, good luck, I hope this helps.
Make sure that the cable snake/loom or whatever you want to call it isn't plugged in upside down at the bottom of the drum module. I did that by accident and initially couldn't figure out what I did wrong so I couldn't get any actual drums sounds out of the kit on my first day with it.
This is my first ever kit so I’m still a little lost. Is it possible to tighten and loosen the kick pedal? Mine bounces off the kick pad multiple times and its very inconsistent due to how loose it is.
Hi, thanks for the comment, yes it's possible, you should be able to adjust the tension of the spring on the right hand side of the pedal. Moving the beater up and down where it's connected will help adjust the action too.
How would I move the snare arm to the right side for left handed use? Can you take off the snare connection point and put it on the right side? Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the comment, you would just flip over how I set it up in the video. So when you're putting the frame out in front of you, put the leg with three connectors on it on the right hand side rather than the left and the leg with two connectors on the left, no need to swap the connectors to a different leg. Hope that helps!
@@RhythmRoomMusicSchool thank you!
Duuuuuude thanks x100
Do you know why the snare drum holder that you assembled in 6:07 keeps coming out so easily for me no matter how much I tighten it
Probably best if you can use a regular snare stand to solve this.
Hi, thanks for the comment, they can be a bit difficult and the heavier snare pad doesn't help either, the only thing I can suggest is making sure the pole is all the way in and that it's tightened. Other than that what the other reply mentioned, using a snare drum stand to hold it would be a good solution. I hope you get it sorted!
how does it compare to the older nitro mesh ? thank you !
Hi, that video is coming soon, make sure you’ve subscribed!
Can someone help? Can you play the nitro max through a speaker at the same time as listening to it through headphones. The left/right output on the back of the nitro max module to a 3.5mm jack into the speaker and headphones connected to the nitro max module? It won’t work for me 😩
Do you have a video that shows how to use the drum module?
Not yet but it's on the to do list!
Do you know how to adjust pedal tension on alesis?
I just got this but I need a midi out connection and this does not have one. Any idea what I need?
Hi, thanks for the comment, you need a USB 2.0 A to B Cable to connect it to a computer to use MIDI functionality.
Hey mate my snare drum pole keeps coming out of the socket on the leg it’s all tight and not loose do you know how to fix it?
Hi, thanks for the comment, sorry to hear you've been having problems with it. They can be a bit difficult and the heavier snare pad doesn't help either, the only thing I can suggest is making sure the pole is all the way in and that it's tightened. Other than that, using a snare drum stand to hold it would be a good solution. I hope you get it sorted!
@@RhythmRoomMusicSchool hey mate just ordered a 10 inch snare drum stand hopefully it fits in the 10 inch snare haha
Lifesaver
Does it come with a cable to connect to the speaker?
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately it does not.
Hi there. Setting this up with my 10yo. We've plugged it in but no sound. We connected it to tablet but nothing.
Hi, thanks for the comment, you need headphones or a cable and an amplifier in order to be able to hear the kit, do you have these things? Hope this helps!
Ok the bass drum part is where im lost. Im not sure how to attach the pedal to the base.
Can I ask how tall are you? Is the kit small?
Hi, thanks for the comment, I’m 6 ft 2. Please check out my comparison video between the max and the nitro kit. I go into more detail about this. Thanks!
Why was mine FULLY deconstructed.. in walmart bags and bars did not have ANY connection points
Tks, I just got mine yest, I'm a lefty, but it was still a cinch.
Can you do a vdo on how to fold it up for storage, I know it's pretty much common sense , but it would be nice to see someone else's ideas?
Hi Ian, thanks for the comment, glad the video helped.
I'll have a think but I'm not sure how I would make the video more than a minute long haha. You can either flip the drum pads down and bring the two outer poles inwards, I use that the most in order to transport the kit or put it away into a corner. For full storage you can remove the drum pads and then the frame should fold up completely flat. Hope that helps!
How long does this kit last?!?
Thanks for the comment, please check out my other videos for reviews and a three month later breakdown, thanks.
Can this be set up for left hand player
Yes. Just put the Hihat tube on your right and the snare drum one.
Thanks for reply, I got it figured out.
@@doubled18588 👌
I just answered my own question I started setting up and just did everything in reverse ,lol
Hi @everyone, any reviews on this kit?
Hi, thanks for the comment, please check out my channel, there’s a review comparing it to the older Nitro Mesh.
The correction at 4:36 just sounds like chaotic voice over voice and I can't understand it. Something about it being incorrect in the video?
Hi, I left another comment explaining what happened but what I'm saying there is that it doesn't matter if you attach the connecting pole with the connection points up or down as they can be adjusted later. Thanks!
Can’t hear the audio for some reason, any idea why?
Had the same problem but worked it out. There's a "phones" socket on the SIDE of the module, this is where your headphones go. Then you can hear sound (prior to finding this socket we thought the headphones were to go in the AUX IN socket at the back).
Hi, thanks for the comment, sorry to hear you were having problems, did you resolve the issue?
How to adjust cymbals volume
🎉
how do you bluetooth connect to an amp
Hi, thanks for the comment, you cannot use Bluetooth to connect to an amp, it is only for connecting a device to play music through the drum kit module. You will need an instrument cable and an amplifier, or a set of headphones to hear the kit. I hope that helps. Kev

I don't think the kickpad is mesh, should I use the felt side?
Thanks for the comment, I was contacted by someone that had a Nitro Mesh (has the exact same bass drum tower) who had a damaged bass drum pad that Alesis refused to repair under warranty because he had been using the felt side of the beater on the rubber pad. I would recommend using the plastic side.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have turned it around now, just finished setting it up. Can't wait to try it. @@RhythmRoomMusicSchool
I’m glad I decided to watch this video. The instructions that come with the kit are completely useless. I assumed that it was the FELT side to use against the kick pad, but you say that Alesis said otherwise. I trust you and I’m going to flip it around. I’m just wondering what then is the purpose for the felt? 🤔
2:48
Yea thanks for this video , those paper instructions are crap really.
Thanks the paper instructions are hot garbage
