This was incredibly helpful, you are a life saver!! I’m not a visual learner, I’m an auditory learner, so hearing you explain the pieces was super duper helpful 😭
I can't thank you enough!! I am a newbie to drumming, and over 70. I am also a videographer. I purchased this set from Guitar Center. I found your video and followed it "exactly" as you instructed. Much better than the instructions and the best video I found. I give it 5 stars. Now lets hope I can play.....lol. thank you again. Lenny M
Hi Lenny, thank you for this wonderful comment, so glad to hear this video has helped you out. If you would like any lessons to kick you off on your drumming adventure we have a pre-recorded beginner drumming course available for purchase or we could organise some live online private one-to-one lessons too. Both of these can be found on our website www.rhythmroom.co.uk Good luck and let me know if I can be of any more help. Kev
Thank you for this video, i got my kit today and I have to say so far its been a nightmare to set up, been at it for about 6 hours and i've barely been able to get the base set up. Decided to call it a day and will follow this video step by step tomorrow and hopefully get it set up then. Update: Started from scratch, followed this video step by step and got it sorted! Thank you so much!
6 hours, Wow! I know what you mean though, when we first started stocking these years ago and I attempted to set up the first one it took me over an hour, and I’m a seasoned drum kit putter-togetherer! I’m so pleased we were able to help you with the set up, happy drumming! Kev
This is so well done for us who prefer kinetic learning. Just watched with enjoyment at all of the detail and now I feel well prepared to build my kit! Thank you! 🙏🏽
I just set mine up for the first time in a couple years and I’m surprised how well it works. I’m 6’5”-6’6” (~196 cm) and I probably only need to buy 3 inch height supporters for it to work for me. The throne that comes with it is also surprisingly good for me. My only issue really is the rims on all of the drums. If it just had thinner rims, I’d recommend it to almost any beginning drummer.
The felt beater is NOT MEANT TO BE USED ON THIS KIT per Alesis. There's a mesh head located under the rubber skin that the felt side will wear out. The felt side is for the old school rubber only surfaces like the Nitro kit that preceded this model. If you look at the diagram of the fully built kit in the instructions it clearly shows the felt on the bottom side of the beater facing away from the kick drum surface. Don't find out the hard way like I did when Alesis wont cover the bass trigger under warranty if you set this up incorrectly. Still the best Nitro Mesh setup guide on youtube, thanks Kev!
Hi, thanks for your comment, can you clarify if you had this experience with the Nitro Mesh Kit and not one of the other iterations? The FAQs on the Alesis website mentions not using a felt beater but specifically on a mesh head, I've also checked the official Alesis Nitro Mesh setup guide here on UA-cam where it says you can use both plastic and felt on the rubber bass drum pad you get with the Nitro Mesh kit: ua-cam.com/video/oBvMN-tM0yM/v-deo.html If Alesis say they won't cover you under warranty I would suggest going back to them and linking them to their own setup guide. I will also be contacting the company directly for clarifcation on this.
My kit was the Nitro Mesh SE the second addition / special addition that's red. It was taken to Apex in Los Angeles a well known pro audio electronics establishment for warranty work who informed me that Alesis would not cover the warranty. When I contacted Alesis directly they also denied my claim. Alesis did help me by setting me up with a reconditioned kick from a different kit through the service center at a reasonable price.
No reply is right. This is the best video. Saved my ass. I PLAY DRUMS and still was like, wtf?? I bought mine used so everything was everywhere. I wish I'd have come to this video first. The actual Alesis one they recommend sucks. Dude is doing stuff and doesn't tell you what half the time. I actually took everything back apart and started from scratch with your vid, now I'm up and running. Thanks bro!
This is so simplified,,,,really needed it,,,and clear and well done,,,,thanks so much,,,,now I've got to get the drive to actually tackle it,,,,,extremely useful vid,,,,thanks bro!!!😎
WOW! Thanks. The instructions that come with the kit, or should I say, the lack of instructions makes putting the kit together much more challenging than it needs to be. I actually am pretty good putting things together - so I managed to put it together - however, when you pointed out the snare drum is different from the other tom pads (since all four look the same) that alone was worth the price of this video!!! (oh, wait, the video is free). And I didn't know that the felt pads needed to go on top of the cymbals, Thanks, this was great support!
Thank you for such a great guide. I've never touched a drum kit before let alone set one up. What seemed a daunting task was made easy thanks to this video.
Wow! Ditto the life saver comment. Thank you so much. My 11 year old son got his long saved for kit today and I don’t think he’d be sitting here drumming right now if we’d only had the pics in the pack to go on. Your brilliant instructions were so clear and easy to follow - we took it slow and steady and had it up and running in just over two hours (we have no experience of this kind of set up before). Anyway thank you 🙏🏼 - let’s hope he has as much success learning to play them!
Really like how you just didn’t fast forward through the whole video and actually talked about where the pieces go. I kept checking in on this video to see if it was doing everything correctly. Thank you!
Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you noticed this as when I was looking at other setup videos I noticed they didn't do this too and wanted to make sure this video went into more detail. Good luck with the drumming!
Great setup video very helpful. I got this kit 3 months ago and it is very good only one very band flaw. The rack is very short and very wobbly once you get using it. : (
Funny, I put it in half speed in the UA-cam player to slow things down for me. It sounds like a drunk Australian is slowly giving me amazing instructions! LOL
I just had my kit delivered today. Thanks so much for this excellent video. I live in an appartment and was hoping to be able to dampen the noise from the bass by using the felt side of the beater. Any clarity on the plastic v felt side and the warranty? Thanks a lot.
Anyone here is facing issues with double pedal? Me left beater is missing notes, even really close to the right beater and even with adjustments on the module for threshold and sensitivity.
Thank You, I finally have been able to setup my Kit since I moved into my place back in April 2022. I have not played the drums so I was starting from ground zero. I looked for months for instructions that were geared for someone who may not any knowledge of a drum kit setup. 🥳 and so it begins 🤩🥁🎶🎧
Hi Kim, thanks for your feedback we're glad you found the video useful. You may also like our prerecorded beginner drum course. It's also aimed at complete beginners, and is available on our website www.rhythmroom.co.uk/pre-recorded-lessons
Hey man, amazing video, it was very easy to ensemble the drum kit following this one compared to those ambiguous pictures on the manual. However, I'd like to ask you how do you tighten the snare drum support tube? Mine keeps slipping and falling over and over again, I introduce it completely in its clamp and tighten it up with the allen key to no avail. Thank you so much man
Thanks for the video!! Quick question, when I save a new sound (for example an edit to my snare drum). If I unplug the drum set, will I lose the new sound I saved? Does the Alesis Nitro dm7x have an internal battery that maintains newly saved info when it's unplugged? Or will it go back to the factory default? Thanks much!
12:24 - This is totally me! Very relatable moment. :D And such an awesome video. Wish that the official doc had a QR code that brought all new users right to your video. A few questions: is it fairly easy to make adjustments to the frame after its set up? Also, how's the kit holding up? Cheers!
Thanks for the comment and I appreciate the kind words, there were a couple things I missed in the video; the snare pad has 'snare' written underneath it and one of the cymbal pads says 'crash with choke' underneath it, that should go in the middle of the other two. Once it's set up it is very easy to adjust with the allen key and drum key that comes with the kit, just be sure not to lose them! Rhythm Room has over 20 Nitro kits that we own and we've sold about 20 more over the years. Only problems we've encountered have usually been down to the owner or user of the kit setting the heads up at the wrong angle or not tightening the mesh heads properly. These take a beating and will last a long time! Hope this helps, thanks again. Kev
I installed my kit and it's very wobbly even though the legs and connectors are level. I can push and pull the kit and the legs will bend with it. Everything is tight. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for this video. The printed intructions included with the kit are useless. They give each part a letter on the paper, but the parts themselves have no corresponding letter. The video on the Alexis website is worthless as well. It essentially says to read the paper instructions, and shows someone assembling the stand in fast motion. Without this video I would have packed up the kit and returned it.
Hi, thanks for the comment, your best bet is to contact the place you ordered it from, they should then be able to get in touch with the supplier and get you what you need.
Hi, the Beater in the Nitro setup video by Kraft Music is shown being reversed. they say "be sure that the plastic side [makes contact with the pad]. Ive seen people online doing it both ways... any thoughts on this?
Hi Chris, thanks for your comment, my initial thoughts would be that having the plastic side of the beater against the pad is more likely to reduce the life of the pad. The only thing you’re doing there is changing the feel how the pedal when you strike the pad. On an acoustic kit, a felt beater creates a different sound to a plastic beater when it hits the drum. In this situation, if your intention is to practise a lot I’d say go felt side first, when that wears down, either replace the beater or swap to plastic. Hope this helps! Kev.
Hi, yes, while it doesn't fold completely flat with the pads still on the frame it's very easy to do it that way. If you want a complete fold you'll have to remove some pads which takes a little bit more time but still is quite easy to do.
This is a great idea for a video! I'll start working on that... to answer your question, it depends on your budget, your skill level, what you plan on doing with it (just practice or gigging too) and how much time you think you'll spend practicing. Let me know! Thanks, Kev
Hi, thanks for the comment. I forgot to mention in the video, there should be a black sticker on the bottom of the snare drum pad that says 'snare pad' if you struggle to identify the correct pad from the top.
really appreciate you taking time to walk through this setup.
This was incredibly helpful, you are a life saver!! I’m not a visual learner, I’m an auditory learner, so hearing you explain the pieces was super duper helpful 😭

This video should go down in the UA-cam tutorial hall of fame

@@RhythmRoomMusicSchool Continue doing what you love brother i love you❤
I watched this video as I assembled my set.
It was easy to understand and follow. Thank you very much.

Not only that, the felt beater is also worse as far as the triggering goes.
Thank you soooo much. Just got my kit and the manual was super confusing. This was helpful and very clear. Thanks a lot :)

I will get one of this drums next week. 😱 And I have se en a lot of videos about it, I love it!
This was so helpful, I couldn't put it into words. Thanks a lot!!
Thank you for making the video. It is a great resource. Keep up the great work.
Mate you just saved my life.. much love
Thank you, very clear installation instruction. the last thing you can tie up those messy wires into drum frame with the provided Velcro wrappers..
Thanks for the comment, the cable ties are mentioned at 14:06 in the video. Thanks.
Thank you for such a great guide. I've never touched a drum kit before let alone set one up. What seemed a daunting task was made easy thanks to this video.
You saved my goddamn life thank you so much
100% amazing instructional video. Great job!
Thank you so much helped me on the parts I struggled with
One cymbal is different, it should be the crash (Cymbal with choke) Not sure what that means yet. Great video.
Wow! Ditto the life saver comment. Thank you so much. Excellent Instructional Video....Especially if you are not mechanically inclined.
This is the best guide ever! Thank you so much. Just set up my Alesis Nitro Mesh :) sadly, mine didn't come with an AUS adapter :(
Pleased to hear we helped you with the setup, enjoy!

You really helped me out with this video 😊✌️ thank you so much.
I got my set a couple days ago and I love it! This video made it so much easier to put it together. This was definitely worth the money!
How much space does the thing take up?
This is very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful. Thank you.
TY good job, just waiting for mine in the mail.
Great setup video very helpful. I got this kit 3 months ago and it is very good only one very band flaw. The rack is very short and very wobbly once you get using it. : (
This was extremely helpful. Probably cut the time I spent putting everything together in half.
wow, what a helpful video. figured out how to set up my speakers to my kit 😂

Thats not nearly enough to damp the bass drum sound. Youll need a tenis riser platform. Otherwise your downstairs neightbors are going to hate you.
Very thorough. Thank you!
Anyone here is facing issues with double pedal? Me left beater is missing notes, even really close to the right beater and even with adjustments on the module for threshold and sensitivity.

Hi Daniel, could you please email me at info@rhythmroom.co.uk? If you're able to include a video of the problem that would help me too.
Snare pad is labelled behind.
Great video. But my cymbals not stops when i get them as they where suposed to do and i dont know what to do
Thank you mate!! Great post, I just bought the Alesis Nitro Mesh Limited Edition (Black and Blue). Happy New year!!!
I watched three other videos on how to set up my drums until I found you. Thank you - you explained very well.
Thanks for the video!! Quick question, when I save a new sound (for example an edit to my snare drum). If I unplug the drum set, will I lose the new sound I saved? I purchased this few weeks before. Cables when connected makes the kit look wierd. I found kick pad not so efficient.
I did it. Took a while. Thank you so much for this video!
Thanks for the comment, glad it helped!
Bro was very nice
So I’m missing a few things, is there a site where I could order what I’m missing??
Hi, thanks for the comment, your best bet is to contact the place you ordered it from, they should then be able to get in touch with the supplier and get you what you need.
Appreciate it!
What size screw is used to hold the rack together? I lost one and can't find any spares
Thank you so much!!!! This was brilliant and helped me a lot! Rock on!!
Legend
Hi my nitro drum module powered off on it's own whilst in use. But powered on when pressed power switch back on. Is it faulty? Thanks
Hi, is this a recurring issue?
how do you get the drivers to run this kit on a computer?
THANK YOUUU
Fantastic video!
Can anyone tell me exactly how much room i need for this kit?
Omg thanks
You're welcome!
Great video, very helpful.
Can it be folded up for storage
Hi, thanks for the comment, yes, these kits are exceptionally good at being flat packed for storage.
Great video! Thank you very much 😊🙏

New friend here.
Keep in touch
Is it easy to fold?
Hi, yes, while it doesn't fold completely flat with the pads still on the frame it's very easy to do it that way. If you want a complete fold you'll have to remove some pads which takes a little bit more time but still is quite easy to do.
Thank you so much
Amazing video thank you so much
According to the diagram, the hi-hat and module should be reversed. Module all the way on the left of the hi-hat
Thanks for your comment. The reason we recommend switching them is explained 5:14.
Valeu!
Thank you so much!
This, Surge or the Command Mesh? Cheers :)
This is a great idea for a video! I'll start working on that... to answer your question, it depends on your budget, your skill level, what you plan on doing with it (just practice or gigging too) and how much time you think you'll spend practicing. Let me know! Thanks, Kev
I really hate that these parts weren't labeled, like the snare .. i can't see the "extra sensor " on any of these. What a pain
Hi, thanks for the comment. I forgot to mention in the video, there should be a black sticker on the bottom of the snare drum pad that says 'snare pad' if you struggle to identify the correct pad from the top.
i think they should come in diferent colours
Any idea on what to do with the sliding kick 😅
Hi, thanks for the comment, your best bet is to get a small rug for the bass drum pedal to sit on or a rug for the whole kit.
You rock! the manual sucks big time. Thank you.
Windows 10 monitor setup
Started. Mixed it all up. Got lost. And quit.
Just set it up and it does nothing
Seriously so helpful. The directions were zero help haha
it isnt the same as i have
Took me four hours😅
Thank you so much
