- After a MUCH needed break, im back, and its time to put the sauce to the RX7 and really button up the RX4 with some real progress. Ideally, id love for the next outing with the RX7 to be trouble free, run a great number, and then put it away until after the new year to focus on the RX4... but best laid plans dont always pan out that way.

My cars going into a diff shop to work out what the noise from my rear end is. Hopefully a quick fix and back out cruising for Summer.
Noise from your rear end probably related to too much gas.
PWR make some VERY NICE water-air "barrel" charge coolers, but they cost a shitload.
Shame, really. More people ought to be building water-air intercooler systems for their cars, especially streetcars.
I bought one for my 4EFTE Mini. It's a very nice bit of kit... hopefully I'll be able to fire it up soon!
Completely unrelated - deal with PWR directly. Sparesbox are as useless as a wet fart in a paper bag.
Problem with them is weight, an a2a weighs 10 ish kgs max whereas a w2a is around 30/40kgs with everything it requires plus the added weight of the water , packaging is an issue too especially in tight engine bays.
Yeah they work better but any advantage u gain u lose from the extra weight.
@@5lcalais1 it depends on whether weight is a priority, surely? Each have advantages and disadvantages, so there's no "best" option until you look at the application.

Black Friday sales happening atm and funny the prices on haltechs site hasn't changed, last month no joke elite 2500 was 2300 ,it's still 2300 today but they've got 2900 above that crossed out now lol, dirty buggers...
They're not the only ones doing fake black Friday sales either, seen it all over, it's kinda funny but also pretty shit...
U after a irs or solid axle diff? I sold a supra recently with a spare F series diff (same family as hilux) and I have parts to rebuild it

I don't think there is any reason to knock Haltech... I have a broke-ass Elite 750 and the support they gave me was top notch, and I'm not even in 'straya. Too bad they don't make a controller for an A340 trans :D I wouldn't be struggling this much to get the original Toyota controller working with the Elite.
They do though, it's been used in skid factory.
A340 control is pretty straight forward as it’s a series of solenoids like a BTR or a 4L80E, so with the right logic programmed by the ecu, there are quite a few that control it, Haltech is one of them. The ZF has its own TCM that talks to the ecu via CAN and Haltech is the only ecu on the market who have reverse engineered the protocol so it talks to the TCM
@@Low760 What Al and Woody used had a manualized valve body, so the controller isn't doing much but actuating the solenoids according to the gear position sensor that's mounted to the side of the trans. I'd very much like to maintain the full auto capability.
Yeah I don't understand the hate towards haltech either, they make a damn good product, they're one of the very first aftermarket ecu companies, their stuff is super simple and straight forward to use , they do tons of in depth tech stuff on their yt channel,haven't seen any other ecu manufacturing doing that, great customer service, I wanna a 2500 for my vn but just don't have the budget atm.
Yeah their stuffs pricey but your paying for quality and quality cost money ,it's not something u wanna cheap out on, it could be the difference between lunching a 30k engine or not...
