- RX4 starts and runs like a top, everything mechanically and electrically is running as it should! Hopefully the RX7 will get jealous and follow in its footsteps shortly.

Nice work Broomy !! Can we get ya in a full ww1 pilot’s outfit for the maiden voyage around the block full goggles and all having no glass and all 😂👍🍻
Congratulations with the rx4 it’s quite a large project
Awesome as Always Great to see the progress Keep up the good work
Good to see another video, and awesome to see the Barra running! 🤙😎
Great to see another video out!
That’s some good information you’ve shared regarding comparing injector flow rates. I’ve made the same assumption in the past when reviewing injectors.
Look forward to your next dyno video.
Sweet builds. Awesome work mate
Long time no see! Really great to see your videos again!
Getting there...
test but verify. get your injectors flow checked and characterised for best results
Nice work mate, thats a major hurdle cleared. No doubt will give you a nice little motivation booster
Good chat about the squirters too! Just goes to show the number on the box never tells the whole truth 👌
Yeah my bad for not realising that was a thing with those types of injectors. I assume FT have rated them like that because the competition also rates them like that, so have to market them apples for apples to the people who are buying them. Move on, and sort it out for good now. Its consistently gone 1.27 60ft even with the bad misfires from the 40ft mark, so confident it can run a low 1.2X 60 and then carry that speed to a 7 sec pass.
Motivation booster is this weekend at Jamboree !
It is those little things that most think is common knowledge and forget to just say it.
Would the injectors not be the 5000cc flow at your working pressure with boost on the regulator ? So like 45base pressure sure they flow 3000+cc. You will be running at like 40psi boost right so that would be 85psi fuel pressure. Do i see this wrong ?
I think you have missed the point. They flow 5000cc at 90psi, as per the chart, and I run (was running) 80psi base fuel pressure, as many cars with mechanical fuel pumps do, however, rotary engines have a small window for duty cycle, so you don’t have long to inject the fuel, which is why you will generally see methanol drag rotaries with 4 or 5 big injectors like a 2400cc deka per rotor. I wrongly assumed that instead of running 10 dekas (2433 x 10 = 24330cc) I could run 2 dekas and 4 520’s (2433 x 2 + 5000 x4 = 24866cc), when in actual fact the comparable flow rate was (2433 x2 + 3458 x4 = 18698cc). So I thought I had over injected the setup and everything would be sweet, when in reality, I had over 6000cc less injector than what I needed. Further compounding the problem was that at the very high base pressure, the bigger fueltech injectors had a large dead time, which means they take longer to open than a small deka for example, which meant that at the same base pressures the FT injector will take longer to open and shut than a deka. This is why I have now gone to the big 820’s, because the comparable flow for my setup at 43.5psi is (2433 x 2 + 5880 x 4 = 28386cc), so will ‘outflow’ a 10 deka setup by around 4000cc. I use the 10 dekas as the example setup, as I know a few people who make the power I want to be making with a 2 rotor and 10 dekas, so that was always my benchmark of how much fuel injector I needed.
@@BroomysGarage Thanks for the awesome reply. You sure know whats going on. I get what you mean now. All about that injection window.
Yes, and the flow is all relative wether it’s dekas or the FT injectors or ID2000’s. I just didn’t have the data originally to go by so mistakenly assumed the big flow rate was at the low pressure like most other injectors. All good, live and learn and time to turn it up and sort it out for good.
Exhaust is gonna melt your brake reservoir??
Imagine losing all the fluid driving
You’d think the car having no windscreen, or body work done, or interior, or a million other things would be a giveaway that the car isn’t complete… but here we are with the standard UA-cam comment hot takes 😂
@@BroomysGarage oh it just says rx4 drives in title I thought the engine bay was complete. I can see still lot to be done
