Good point about the PhD. But if you a black man and want to move into management or executive level, unless it's your own company, depending on the employer a masters may be a requirement. Over 24 years ago I worked for the phone company here in Omaha Nebraska, supervisors and managers were required to have a master's or comparable experience! I went to a HBCU for undergrad and have 2 masters degrees (one from an Ivy League institution) and working on a 3rd all in science and engineering. Medium Man you don’t hear BM talking about their degrees because in the real life dating market, specifically in the Black community, Black men are not sought after because of their degrees. Most BW select men based on their height and looks. A lot of times those of us that have the education as well as the height and looks that BW put front and center we are often put in situations that we have to dumb ourselves down.
If I try to explain to most BW what I do for a living most don’t know or understand or they become disinterested because if it’s not something they heard of on TV or social media or if it’s not something that has to do with entertainment most don’t care that much. I’ve been blessed because my career has me making over 6-figures but it wasn’t easy to get there. I know any brother in my situation he got there because he worked hard and he most likely is much better than his non-Black counterparts.

    • @AfriqueNY

If what you are saying about educated Black men is correct, Black women have been dumbed down. That was not the case when I was young. I was only 5’ 11 and a half ( which was not considered short then) and weighed 180 pounds. I didn’t even own a car but I was a 26 year old, single, straight, EDUCATED Black man and a trial lawyer and that is what they liked.
I think you would do better meeting women through your profession as opposed to clubs, parties, etc. I met my late wife, who was also an attorney, through a courtroom opponent and professional colleague.

That's the thing if you're about your work and education as a Black man you're automatically are not going to have the time or interest to go to clubs or parties. You're going to be working a full time job while in grad school like I did. There's no time to watch reality TV or any of the other silliness they like to reference or talk about. There's been a lot of social engineering that has taken place to make the Black community as whole think that being responsible, smart, and educated as a Black man is "lame" and "corny". This is by design BTW.

@@AfriqueNY yes, it's true if you have a conversation with a lot BW nowadays just casual they spout out a lot of the negative stereotypes Medium Man disproves on his channel. A lot of them seem bitter and when you ask them how do Black men oppress them because many believe in Black feminism, they usually state violence which all of us including the men more than anyone is subject to, nothing systemic. A lot of them are into reality TV and are plugged into the silliness going on in social media so you can't have a sensible conversation with a lot of them without it turning into an argument, because they always have to be right eventhough they're dead wrong.

Im glad that you brought up the earning statistics between Black men and Asian men. Two of the biggest factors are culture and community From a young age, education is drilled into that child from a young age in the Asian community. School for some is 6 days a week for some kids. Also these kids are put into study groups so that not only learn as a collective, but improve together. This happens all the way up until college. The parents make their kids work at their store to earn money, but its really designed so that their child can study while working. I'm not saying it doesn't exist in sone black/Latino communities, but its not as sophisticated in my opinion.
