  • I have never been fond of sliding shower doors. It can be difficult to keep the door and frame clean and I find that I regularly hit my elbows on the doors while showering. Luckily, removing sliding shower doors and the frame is a quick and easy process. The hardest part of this process will be scraping off all the silicon caulk used to waterproof the edges of the frame on the walls and tub. My primary reason for removing the doors is to have them out of the way so I can have better access to paint the walls and ceiling in my bathroom. I have no intention of reinstalling the doors and instead, will put in a new, curved shower curtain rod, so that I can gain more elbow room and no longer hit my arms on the doors.
