My problem with them is I have to use a shower chair and it's very, very, challenging to get in and out of the shower without the fear of falling on my hide... I already have an injured spinal cord as it is.

Very informative and easy to follow. this gave me the instructions (and confidence) I needed to do the job. I had the whole thing removed in under 30 minutes after watching this. I probably could have had it out in under 15-20 minutes if the bottom track had not been so tough to remove. I ended up using a putty knife and mallet to get under the track since there was so much silicone used to hold it in place. I took my time so I wouldn't chip the tub. I wish I'd done this when I bought my home 4 years ago!

Thanks for a really clear and simple video for removing the shower door channels. My sister just recently bought a house and we discovered that someone installed the bottom rail backwards so that the lip of the rail is on the inside of the bathtub instead of the outside. So when the water hits the shower door it just drips right onto the floor. I can't understand how someone could not realize that they installed it wrong but I will need to remove it and reinstall it the correct way. Thanks again. 👍🏼

@@EverydayHomeRepairs I also wish you could post a picture here. Yes, that was a thing long ago (decades ago) but the weird thing is our house wasn't built until 1976 and was remodeled in 1998. (We just bought it a month ago.) Several older people owned it before we did - maybe that was their kind of thing, who knows?
It is a vinyl curtain that folds up like an accordion with magnets on both sides to latch to the track. It doesn't completely flatten when open, so the folds stick into and out of the shower.

It seems like mine held on with something stronger than caulk or silicone. It’s like grout or something. It’s wicked hard and doesn’t yield to a razor blade.

I hate these glass shower doors. I had one fall in on me once while showering and they are extremely heavy and dangerous.

Yeah, we actually had a friend get cut up from one exploding during a shower.

I hate shower doors, I’m claustrophobic and literally feel like I’m suffocating when I try to clean the shower and sometimes when I’m showering.

What do you do when the screws are so old you can’t even unscrew

But if I scratch my tub. I get the shower I want instead of a tub. Jack hammer it is. Lol

I think the opposite - it’s an upgrade in my opinion. I think shower doors look like shit and they’re impossible to clean. The curtain looks neat and cLean

Those doors are nice to look at, but not very convenient. We are removing ours and going back to a curtain.

Downgrade? It's more modern to have a rod now or those fancy glass stand in ones.

Hate shower doors. They’re annoying and I don’t consider them an upgrade. They absolutely get in the way of bathing little ones.

Man I just had to bring out the grinder to grind off a middle screw that had like super glue over it and it’s stripped. This video didn’t have that so whoever install my is a POS 😅

No doubt, we would not have been giving my boy baths in that bathroom if those doors stayed on.
