Coming up to nearly 2yrs when started my build..still afew little jobs to do but with work and wife giving me that look when i mention van..its a never ending job😂..
justa wee tip for ye mel,for that round sink top, get some rawl plugs cut them in half ( lengthways ) , then use them on the screws to hold the board in and stop any rattle
Love it 😊👍
I still miss waffle on a Wednesday. Glad to see your back to your mad self Mel 👍🏻 great video as always 👍🏻
Thank you waffle will return in the winter 👍🤓👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld top man 👍🏻 I look forward to it
Hi Mel hope your doing ok M8 , been busy and not seen many video lately, hope all is good with you , love getting good honest information of you , fingers crossed see another video soon , DLP North Wales ✊✊✊😎👍
Hi all is ok now I am just doing weekly uploads at the moment I will get back to doing 2 or 3 videos a week once I’m feeling better 👍
Had the same problem, solved by cleaning out the weep holes.
No more problems.
Nice 👍
I've fitted these windows, mainly after seeing your video. I did make sure the vents were clear of silicone and they have never leaked. They've stood up to some heavy heavy rain too. I did use evostick sticks like shit on them. It does what it says on the tube.
It's AMAZING how elaborate these Bed-Wetting Excuses can get - Just OWN-UP Mel - It's Yer AGE! Mate - But makes a good video 😂😂😂
Lol 😂
Well... after lookin left n right up n doon ..and a lil peep around the corner and checking with the ear chief's and doing all the logistics and the quadernations and supply and deemand .. i think we should attack at dawn ...scarred of dark ..😂🤣😂😎love to the bex ..😀
Haha thanks buddy 👍😂👍
We had the same problem with the first window we ever fitted...Wooden kebab skewers poked through the drainage channel did the job!.😂.. Great video as per ☯️
Hello 👋 I tried poking something down them but just couldn’t find the hole 👍😂👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You could do with sticky back velcro on the back of the lid
great vlog mel
Thanks for the visit
Never has one of your videos made me go white but this one did. I have those windows on my van after you recommended them. However, I decided (stupidly) to mastic all around the outside blocking those vent holes that I did not consider were required. I will now have to use a stiff length of wire to poke holes through the bottom. Wish me luck. I just hope there is no water inside my cladded walls. That will be a pain to redo.
Oh dear lord i do hope that you can unblock them and that you haven’t cussed them to leak water into your van. Good luck 🤞
I did the same thing! I'm going to use a scalpel and cut a slot in the sikaflex black where the water drainage channel is
@@igorbogdanoff4517 good luck 🤞
@@BigVanSmallWorld It worked! i found that once most of the sikaflex was cut away (multiple passes of the knife back and fourth) I could then see the weep channels in the gap between the side pod and the windows. i then used a junior hacksaw blade with the end cut off to poke up each of the channels to remove any sikaflex that went up the holes. Luckily the pods and the sikaflex are black so my tinkering doesn't show. and now the watter drains properly. Thanks very much for your video
Another great video Mel. Always informative 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Another honest and ace video Mel 👍
Thank you kindly
loving your vlogs great work mel keep up the 100precent work
Thank you! Will do!
Good save team!
Thank you 🙏
Great little jobs done 👍
Thanks 👍
I would remove and refit Mel, speaking as an ex window fitter it's usually the only way to re seal successfully.
It almost came to this 👍😊👍
It's amazing how water always finds the weakest places. Hope your fix keeps working.
I hope so too! Thanks 😊
These sized windows are available in a top hinged awning version which should eliminate the problem altogether - expensive but double glazed and a better all round option - can be left open when it's raining.
Oh I want them but can’t afford them 😂👍
This may be your problem. As you're driving along at speed with your front windows open, you may be creating low pressure in the van and sucking water in through the vents or drain holes. If it's raining hard enough. Hope all's well with everyone, Mel 😊
Thanks 😊
Hi Mel job well done mate. Sorry to be a royal pain in the posterior, but could you give us more info on the A class seats fitted to that Sprinter.
Becky’s a loud snorer 😂
Hi Mel,
Do you think that maybe you damaged the weep hole seals when you removed the windows to fit the side pods? Can’t recall you ever mentioning water ingress from them before this was done…
Yeah I may have 😞😞
Oh leaky windows 🙄. Bloody nightmare. Mine are similar to yours (on the inside anyway). Oh and, cant see one of my stickers on that wall..🤔🤣😋
That’s because you’re to classy for my wall 😜😘👍
Yeh, that's definitely it 😂😁
The best place to store it is for its intended purpose. When you need to use the sink hank it on a hook.
I don’t want to drill holes into it
Hi Mel, I can't understand single glazed windows in the living area of any van. The amount of condensation is going to wreck any van build at some stage. For me it would be like building a brand new house and throwing in some single glazed windows just to give me major headaches later on. Your videos are really enjoyable and varied. Cheers 👍
Well and good if you can afford to buy better quality windows I was on my ass when I built this van out and I’ve slowly been making it better over time 👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld I know Mel, I'm not having a go. I've non in so I must be still on my ass 😁 but I did want to keep it stealth. I'd still use a second hand caravan windows in the worst case scenario and it's all about saving money when doing a build unless your minted 👍
👍👍
Why is it that when water is meant to drain, it blocks and when it is meant to stay, it leaks away?
I really don’t know 🤣😂👍
Hi Mel, long time mate, hope you’re well you look it 👍 guess what I finally bought a van T4 don’t laugh LOL it’s got a full width bed. It’s a short wheelbase so space as you can imagine limited. I’d like to build something behind the drivers seat to hold a fridge and a hob and maybe some cupboards under the bed. shall I have a crack at this on my own what do you think mate? :)
Yeah go for it you have watched most of my videos so you’re be golden 👍🤓👍🍻🍻
@@BigVanSmallWorld thanks for that boost mate. You keep doing what your doing you legend ✨
Hi Mel, thanks for the very helpful video. I wasn't sure though whether you're saying the water leaking problem is inevitable with these windows?
-- OR that they were installed incorrectly and if they had been installed without blocking the vent holes, there wouldn't be a problem?
Would you mind clarifying please?! 🙏
I was just about to order these windows so, would be great to know if i should reconsider! Thanks
There great windows
@@BigVanSmallWorld ah, good to know, thanks for the reply! 👍
Same problem with large bonded windows. In heavy rain, water just spills over. Bad design.
That window is not your problem. I noticed as you pointed the camera at the ceiling that you have no overhead vent and fan, but you have a steam kettle...
I do have a ceiling fan and it’s permanently open I think you’re over thinking
Why didn’t you put some c channel to your fold out table & attach it to that
Because I don’t want to 🤷♂️
Woohoo 500th like 👍
Thank you i really appreciate your support and encouragement 👍🤓👍🍻
wet patch on your mattress and squirting water are you talking about your window or Beckie lol , sorry a bit rude maybe , I bet you regret fitting those widows
Nice 🤣😂
Rattletrap?
?
What a faff 😂 solution, drill, small hole in board, hang on a screw. Saves all that faffing about.
