Another ace video! I think i found the most quiet pump in the world with my chinese heater 🤣🤣
Ideally the exhaust should go consistently downwards. Hopefully, that big bend isn't going to cause you an issue. Great video as usual Mel 👍
Thanks for the tips!
Try to avoid any U bends in the diesel heater exhaust system, this will prevent any possibilities of condensation or fuel collecting in the U bend. Try and position the exhaust silencer so the exhaust fumes are directed outside of the van, this will help prevent any exhaust fumes building up within the confines of the underside of the van.
Oh and forgot to mention you can prime the fuel lines by using the priming function on your diesel heater controller. Look it up on UA-cam on how to do it loads of vids out there. Cheers again 👍
I know it’s possible to prime most diesels but mine I can not
Good video for bleeding the fuel through, but I must stress that the exhaust is incorrectly mounted and could potentially be very dangerous.
The exhaust outlet should always be located nearest to the outside of the van on a downward vertical. This is so it can blow into clear space away from the cabin, just like a car exhaust does. Your layout will pool the fumes underneath the van when parked up. This could seap back into the cabin area and also remix with the clean air inlet for the heater.
Sorry to sound negative but an incorrect mounted exhaust could have serious or fatal consequences.
Good tips on the fuel bleed, but please, please, please rework your exhaust layout.
Well mate ...its all doozel under the bridge .😂😂😂hi to the bex 😍
Thank you buddy 👍🤓👍
I'm very happy that I put my pump in the little plastic box under the passanger stepway. I suspended the pump in the air, I insulated the plastic box, and it is very quiet.
Great job 👏
You just persuaded me to leave my heater pump right where it is, I've been tempted to change its mount and maybe it's location - now I'll leave well alone😀
I would if I was you mine was perfect until I moved it 😣👍
Hi Mel I've had mine for 6 years now and after a 2 years I moved my pump and it jamed in side and mine has been inside because if it goes wrong in the winter I can work on it in comfort 😊
Yeah wish I’d left mine inside now
Hey Mel. Your exhaust should not have a loop as moisture may condense and cause a blockage. A little hole in the muffler should be the lowest point in the exhaust circuit. Great video though. I learned that you need to remove the fuse to reset the computer to remove the e10 code.
Thanks for the tip!
Great stuff Mel
Thank you buddy 👍
Maybe want to look at the mounting of the pump and filter. I'm fairly sure the instructions with my heater had to mount the pump diagonally with outlet uppermost, with the filter also at the opposite diagonal. Apparently helps to reduce air locks - at least according to the manual! I have a short vee shaped pipe connecting the filter outlet and pump inlet. Seems to be fine but of course your fault could be utterly unrelated!😊
I really don't know why I watch these videos, I don't have the tools to do it myself let alone the confidence, all I'm going to be is a big pain in the arse to the person who has to do the job because I have seen how to do it. Thanks Mel!!!
You’re absolutely welcome and I’m sure you’re more than able to have a go yourself 👍🤓👍
Useful video this Mel! My next big event I will be installing a Truma d4e… considering coming to you for some help! 🤛🏻🙌🏻
No worries only is I know nothing about them 😂👍
@@BigVanSmallWorld 😂😂 oh ohhhh
Nice one Mel, I've to clean mine out before winter as I've had diesel in the tank for nearly a year and it don't look too good 👍
I’d get on it soon if I was you winters on it’s way 👍🤞
@@BigVanSmallWorld I've ordered some new fuel line, just waiting for it👍
I remember you saying how you prefer to have everything inside if it rains or its cold not to be working outside under the van...I think that the outside elements has killed your pump..I copied another youtuber and put my pump under the cover of the step on driver's side and ran fuel line under and covered it with conduit...maybe place your pump there.
Great idea thank you 🙏
Is your exhaust ok with that low point before silencer , won’t water collect in the low point
Yes it’s fine
A poem, by me:
Mel's got a van called Mary,
Getting under it looks quite scary,
When cleaning the DPF he should've been a bit more wary,
Getting ill looked a little bit lairy,
Is that why his head isn't very hairy,
Mel's got a van called Mary....
👍
Hahah that’s brilliant thank you 🙏
I doubt it failed because you moved it mel, sometimes they need a tap with a hammer, wasn't that the quieter pump you swapped out?Doesn't seem it lasted long😢
I also have a poem about ladies that like chips..
I like chips,
Especially with dips,
But I'm getting fat around the hips,
I think I should stop eating...chips.
Hello Mel totally off topic lol what software do you use to edit your videos and how to you create the clickable hyperlinks you put up on screen during the video please
I use I movie all the links are created in UA-cam editing
❤❤❤
😘
Mel you are always in the chicken shed or under your van. You need to get out more and travel. What happened to Waffle on a Wednesday? There is a life outside the chicken shed and I am sure Monty will enjoy your travels, all we hear is Monty snoring.
I enjoy what I do and waffle will return later this month bigger and better than ever 👍
What size fuse do you use for your deisel heater.
10amp
Hi Mel, I hope you're well when registering a van to camper/motor home. Does it affect your tax and insurance much
Good luck with that one 😂
@@Desmond.TuTu. why is it a nightmare 🤣
No difference at all
@@BigVanSmallWorld cheers Mel
Red diesel?
I think it's still ok for non commercial heating purposes.
It’s perfectly fine
You have 69 likes so I cannot add another. :o)
