the imaginary kid thorfinn actually asked thors the same question in episode 1, but here we see him asking the current grown thorfinn and then thors appeared telling him that he knows the answer to that question now, just beautiful
They cut a lot of dialogue between Thorfinn and his sister from the manga. The one who cut his hair is Ylva. Thorfinn didn't want to shave his goatee but his sister said he looks like a nice person if he shaved. Ylva also wanted thorfinn to get married with a girl in the village but Thorfinn said he have to go somewhere (in the manga Ylva cut his hair before Thorfinn tell everyone that he wanted to go to vinland). The scene with his younger self and Thor on the cliff was a flashback to episode 1 of season 1 where Thorfinn asked him where should people go to run away from Iceland and I belive Thor said to him to a place that is not here.
All that you said is going to happen in the third season. For a finale is something innecesary to show, mostly cuz in the manga this is the start of the next arc, not the end
The reunion between Thorfinn and his family, was doubly emotional and hilarious. It was my favorite moments in the series as a whole so far. I’m very happy that Thorfinn was able to go home and be with his mother and sister again. Especially after all the grief and hardship the characters had to endure this season, it was really nice to see this season end on a happy note. Vinland Saga has reach peak level again.

The time period of Vinland Saga is so insane how little contact their village wouldve had with the outside world. No social media etc it's hard for us to even imagine not seeing a family member since they were a child.
Farmland arc was beautiful but it's so exciting knowing that it only gets even better from here. I'm so hyped for them to adapt the rest of the manga! Which is still ongoing
Helga was sick from the beginning of season one. There was that one scene back then where Ylva was taking care of everything because her mom was sick and Helga had to make her stop to process the grief of losing Thors and Thorfinn
While I’m super happy and proud of Thorfinn and his overall development this season. I can’t deny, that Canute’s development was my favorite part of the season. His character did a complete 360 and can’t wait to see what happens to him next, the path he walks is a very harrowing one.

Thorfinn's lesson was hard one to learn. It's not something you can just teach someone with words. They have to live and experience it. Would've still been inculcated into him if Thors were alive, but I doubt his conviction would be this strong. Great season.
Have you guys ever watched Golden Kamuy? It's also a historical anime, but is more of a mix of comedy, foodie paradise, treasure chasing, and brutal action. Writing is really good in that too.
