Just to add some info here I have a DeWalt 12v Xtreme 901B 1/2" impact wrench which delivers 250 ft. lbs. fastening torque and 400 ft. lbs. breakaway torque so for those of you who are in the 12v system or just want a more compact size there you go.
Its the same thing the only thing that changes is the anvil. the one you got the 922 is 1/2 detent pin and the 921 is 1/2 hog ring but both have the same torque.
Hello its pretty strong as my bigger Dewalt but it all depends on how difficult they are. I dont do heavy mechanic work so this one if perfect for my needs. If you have a torque wrench test one of those control arms to see more or less how many foot lbs it takes to remove one and then buy the one that has a bit more than what you need just in case. I would recommend the DCF891 for suspension work. I own it with a 5a Powerstack battery and it's very strong Now considering this DCF921 for small car lugs, brakes, etc
@@emmcee476 I was thinking of getting the DCF891 but this DCF921 works fantastic actually better than the 894 that I had before. For my needs its just perfect and compact. Since I use my torque wrench for my wheels I dont need a bigger one than the 921 for now. thanks
I like the 1/2 since I use for the heavier stuff. You can use adapter if need. I just got the DCF510 with the interchangeable anvil 3/8 or 1/2 ratchet is nice.
@@ironhorse127 For break work I would recommend the half inch. The torque ratings are about the same for each, but for impact sockets or deep sockets it’s better to go with a half inch.
Hello I would recommend but sometimes on the main bolts for the brakes the prior mechanic will install them with air gun and will be kind of difficult with either of these. I just did my brakes on my suv and looks like someone put so much torque that I had to use my long breaker bar to remove. I love mine and would not go to the bigger one since I dont do brakes on a daily basis. If you would go to the next size up DCF891 is stronger but bigger. Hello it depends on how tight they are. I have used stronger ones in the past and still wont take off some of the rusted ones or sometimes the shops put them on with air impact and they over kill it. only up to 450 ft lbs
@@keysautorepair6038 Maybe I got a bad one or you got a super one. When I try to remove lug nuts with the 894 I end up always using a breaker bar. I was thinking of upgrading to the 899.
@@ExtremDIY I had a issue with my 899 had bought batterys that was Dewalt fake took the battery apart to see what cells were in it bought a new 6amp battery and the difference was night and day now every battery I get I make sure it has Samsung cells.
@@keysautorepair6038 Fake items are everywhere. If I need a battery I purchase from retailer even if its more than getting them on marketplace. You also get the warranty. Glad the tool is working like its suppose to be. Thank you
I saw this in a combo with a 3/8 ratchet and a PowerStack on clearance for $230 at my HD. I snagged it immediately.

The 894 will blow away the 921 have both no compassion the 921 is not good for anything but small things just wait you will see.
I havent had much luck with my 894 I feel they are about the same. Not sure if there is an issue but they compare the 921 to the 894. thanks
