    Thanks Josh just getting into clay pigeon shooting and I’m drawn towards the SP3 so this has been really helpful

    I have a #1 in 28 gauge 26” barrels that I upgraded to two triggers. I’m interested in a V with 30” barrels in 20 gauge, only to recently learn that modern ones are only available in 12. I should have bought the model V in 28 when I had the chance.

    I have had my Silver pigeon I Field 12 ga for three years. I absolutely love it for trap, skeet, and sporting clays. The only thing I changed was to fit a Limbsaver pad because the factory micropore pad was garbage (rock hard and too thin). I thought about upgrading to a 3 or 5, but there really is no reason, I’ll use the money saved to buy something else. Oh, one other thing, the horrible factory blue plastic case doesn’t seem fitting for a US$2500 gun. I bought an old Halliburton Zero pool cue case and modified it to become a shotgun case. Now I look like a proper assassin when I go to the range!

    I have an SP3 sporter with adjustable comb which I bought just over two years ago. I’m very happy with it. It’s a better gun than I am a shot, so I have no plans to replace it. My only issue is the finish which is rubbing away from the wood in a few places. I’m unsure what to do about this.

      You could try using the wax we sell at Premier Guns to bring the stock back up, this is called top secret gun stock wax :)

      the finish on them is rubbish as it basically washes off in the rain. What I have been doing with mine is I occasionaly give the stock a good clean, then apply a super thin coat of quality boiled linseed oil, leave it for a few days and then buff it with a soft cotton cloth. It has stayed like new (gun is only 18 months old)

    On the Beretta website it says that the 3 with adjustable comb is a B-Fast stock. Is this just their way of describing the adjustable comb, or is this gun compatible with the B-Fast stock and barrel weights too?

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  2 місяці тому +1

      The comb is a Beretta b fast comb system which refers to the comb mechanism itself. The gun is able to take stock weight but not barrel weights

    Excellent video and hello from Arizona! I’m considering buying one. The ones at my local dealers have blems on the end of the barrels on the side towards the front. Are you folks seeing this as pattern as well?

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  Місяць тому

      Thank you for your kind words, we have not seen any blems on the barrels over here, also check that the barrels do not have the protective transport tape on them

    Thanks for the interesting contents! Beyond pure aesthetic aspects (such as wood quality, engravings), is there any practical improvement from version 1 to 5? For instance, lower weight, or better barrels, safer mechanics, ...?

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  4 місяці тому

      No, between the 1 and 5 and even the EELL the mechanics and the barrels are all the same

      @@PremierGunsDoveridge Thanks Sir, then the latest versions aren't really worth the price, IMHO.

    He said the sp1 can be bought in the “field” model, without “non-ventilated” barrels. Huhhhh, I’ve never seen that. I have the same SP1 in “field” version WITH vent ribbed barrels. I learn something new everyday.

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  5 місяців тому

      A new SP1 field will come with non ventilated barrels
      A new SP1 Sporter will have ventilated barrels
      Older Silver pigeon sported did also come with the wider rib and non ventilated barrels
      Apologies if i got my words mixed up

    If a gentleman came into your store looking for an O/U field or sport and you noticed he had a small frame. Like 5 foot 7 inches and 135lbs..with an ovalish face..what brand and model would you show him first ?
    Thanks for your time

    The SPII is longer made, i understand that but there must be many of them out in the world. Are we ignoring them because they are bad?

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  4 місяці тому

      The silver pigeon 2 was not a bad gun, again it used the same action, chokes and barrel as the SP5!
      Keeping the choice of grade to 1 , 3 and 5 does however keep the selection simpler

    Sorry this is slightly left of topic, but I was able to pick up a nice 686 White Onyx (with real wood, not the fake stuff). Where does that gin fall into the 686 lineup ?

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  8 місяців тому +2

      Hello cbincbnc, The White Onxy didn't really fill any gap, it was more of a fresh option and look for users with it's plain action.

    • @nicholasrichards2402
      @nicholasrichards2402 8 місяців тому

      The white onyx wasn't finished as well as a 686 wood to metal was the main factor and basic wood very plain more of a cheeper entry Beretta

    Something I noticed. Isn't Optima HP 18.6, not 18.4?

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  8 місяців тому

      Hello Willenium2k4, Yes Optima HP chokes are 18.6 bore, this is found in the silver pigeons. The SL3 and 486 are 18.4 bore.

    Why don't you have the 725 Maple in the U? K

    • @PremierGunsDoveridge
      @PremierGunsDoveridge  8 місяців тому

      Hello Shotgunna, The 725 Maple was not made for the UK market and was therefore not imported into the UK, it was made mainly for the American market.
