Thanks a lot for enlighten us. Great videos! I am still confused between reality vs truth. We should lessen the gap between US and the WORLD, and live in harmony to attain happiness, please correct me if my understanding is incorrect.
The feeling, 'I am' remains constant regardless of age, 'I am' is independent of body, age, circumstances. If you lose all limbs in an explosion you don't feel that 'I am' has been demished. If you are bankrupt, poor and lonely you still have an unchanged 'I am'. Consciousness is I am......I don't think I am is a personal I am....but what do I know.
That final part describes why Zeno, the God of Dragon Ball Super is in the image of a child, because he's the purest being in the universe. Das Kapitale was a critique of capitalism and explanation of capitalism system not a belief about capital accumulation nor is communism about capital for the state. Also, people in the East have always resisted rather than submitted to others, as they understood that to struggle is path towards liberation. Surrendering is enduring a longer struggle in face of defeat. To fight towards known death is a foolish endeavor.
DMZ. Dead Minds Zone. When a mind loses it sensibility it goes into that zone. And its easier for the body that holds that mind to start living less earthly.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Naidu. Your concept of the ‘Dead Minds Zone’ (DMZ) is quite intriguing. It sounds like you’re describing a state where the mind, perhaps overwhelmed or disengaged, loses its active engagement with the world, leading to a sort of disconnection or numbness. This is an interesting way to look at what can happen when the ego or the sense of self is not integrated healthily with one’s broader experience of life. In Buddhism, understanding and observing the workings of the mind, including states like the one you’ve described, is crucial for developing deeper self-awareness and ultimately reducing suffering. The idea that detachment from ego-driven desires can lead to living ‘less earthly’ aligns with some Buddhist teachings about transcending worldly attachments to achieve a more serene and enlightened state of being.
Thank you so much for both of your comments, Seiroos! It’s great to hear that our explanation resonated so strongly with you. Your first point about understanding the ego without judging it is crucial in Buddhist practice. It’s about observing our own mental processes and the ego’s influence on them with mindfulness and clarity, rather than criticism. This non-judgmental awareness is key to gaining deeper insights into our true nature and how we relate to the world around us. I’m also glad that you found the discussion on self-expansion and surrender helpful. These concepts are essential in understanding how we can grow beyond our limited perceptions of self, which are often bound by the ego, and how surrendering can lead to a greater sense of peace and liberation. It sounds like you have a keen interest in these topics. If you have more questions or need further clarification on any points, or if there’s more you’d like to explore about the nature of the ego and the path towards enlightenment, I’d love to continue this conversation. Your reflections add valuable depth to our discussions, and I appreciate your thoughtful engagement.
Further to my first comment.. I wonder if one needs to live in an Abstract Self Way . If I may call it.. Because you left no human interaction without connecting it to the Ego. And this is in fact true.. So how will the end result be for human existence if not for a minimum percent of Self Ego..Nothing will materialize eventually ..' This is my Question. Thank you again.
Yes, you’re right. The ego both creates an illusion of creation and cling to its own illusory creations. And yet nothing truly exists despite all the efforts ego is trying to materialise. Progress and the illusion of ”being alive” are hallmarks of egos endless efforts to become existent. The world is full of non-existent selves trying to maintain the illusion of life. The illusion of death arise as our worst enemy. Nothingness and nobody-ness becomes the ultimate failure despite the overwhelming truth in the need for emptiness to be present throughout everything. Only in the sphere of emptiness can creation and change take place. Only in emptiness can we move around. Only in emptiness can we achieve our objectives and goals. Without the empty nature being present in all things life would be impossible. Ironically, it is only because of emptiness that both ignorance and the temporary illusion of self is possible at all. Ego is completely reliant on emptiness for its own impossible existence. Only our ego-clinging prevents us from being in absolute harmony with reality. Only our persistent denial of the illusory nature of self stands in the way of experiencing endless bliss and limitless capacities. No matter how hard we try to make self manifest, -nothing can ever arise out of nothing. Nothing remains nothing no matter how hard we try. In fact, the harder our efforts become the more we feel invested in our fruitless struggles. Suffering becomes our closest ally in our endless attempts to manifest our self. Our mantra becomes “I suffer, therefor I exist” and suffering becomes our dearest companion because it seems to indicate a truly existing self. We become willing to take any punishment for the preservation of our ego. Why else would we suffer? It is when the absurdity of this insight dawns on us we are becoming ready to step into the process of transformation and the transcendence that will reunite us with the true nature of all things. It is only now we start to understand the meaninglessness in our dualities such as concepts like “life and death” and how we where never really separated from the true nature but stubbornly refused to acknowledge. Only now do we see how incredibly limiting our clinging to illusions have been. Only now are we ready to let go of our self-cling and all limitations are finally lifted.
When you say that people in the East surrender easily than in the West, you are confusing cultural practices for thought. Bowing is a cultural practice in the East but it does not necessarily mean that the person has surrendered. It is a way of showing respect, not surrendering. In fact, the focus of Abrahamic religions like Christianity in the west is on surrender to the power of God, in the notion of heaven and hell etc. without allowing the followers ego to develop fully on such issues.
@@JimmyS23 If you look at Japan even when two strangers meet they will bow as a mark of respect and not as acknowledging a leader or some spiritual guru which is part of their cultural practice. It's difficult for a non-Asian to understand it I guess.
What makes you think this music is good for this type of video? Vid is great but this music gives me anxiety, it would be good for X-Files, not buddhist teaching.
EGO is the: GUARDIAN of INDIVIDUALITY If we did not have this inbuilt impulse to "cry" for what we want to make us happy or reject what makes us sad, we will be in a limbo of nothingness. If we did not run when faced with danger or did not call for help when in danger-we might die. If we had not cried-"demanded" food-when we were born, we might have starved. If we had not welcomed our mother's milk and nuzzled her warmly, we might have never developed a close caring bond with her. Without the EGO-there will be no creation, no individuality, no fulfillment of need, no protection, no warmth of response and no human love. Without the EGO-there will be no self-defense, no self-protection and no survival. You can call the Ego-the Protector and Dictator of the living Universe. This is Divinely ordained and not to be treated with contempt. Because the Ego constitutes an "all-important" and very necessary nucleus of consciousness of creation, development and growth. Ego is the tool of Divine Creativity to produce individuality out of the UNITY OF ITS OWN BEINGNESS. However, the EGO-primarily the "I" of the individual-is only imprinted with the need for SELF-SATISFACTION and SURVIVAL. In childhood, the "I" of the ego is governed by likes and dislikes, wants and rejection of what is not wanted and by habits formed by a constant repetition of feelings. Bad habits in the form of unacceptable ego responses to personal experiences and the environment are formed and these are, in turn, imprinted in the unconscious or subconscious mind-and remain hidden. However, they erupt into repeated behavior patterns when the "memory" of previous circumstances and modes of behavior unconsciously bring them to mind. Now, the subconscious mind and the conscious mind begin to work together to develop the personality. Much of the behavior becomes "conditioned behavior" and very difficult to break. When the person is unconsciously programmed with strong self-centred ego habits of thought and behavior-and finds it difficult to live with others in harmony-that person then goes to a psychologist for help in unravelling the complexities of the mental/emotional problems. Therefore, until the Truth of Existence is fully understood and unconditional love become the consistent guidelines of habits of thought and responses to life's experiences, the pain and suffering arising from the ego will persist. The church describes this human difficulty as being a "temptation by Satan." It is no such thing. It is a natural process brought about by the uncontrolled reactions to life powered by the Ego-whose only purpose is to bring the individual happiness, contentment, fulfillment of need or privacy, independence, security and peace-all directed at SURVIVAL. It must be understood that there is nothing evil about the ego. It is the necessary tool of creation. It is the individual himself who brings about the imbalances in life by allowing the ego full control in his personality without thought or consideration for other people. This, too, is not to be judged or criticized-since the person possessed by the ego knows no other way to think or operate within the earthly dimension.
Indeed, the concept of the ego in Buddhism is fascinating and often seen as something beyond our direct control-it simply ‘pops up’ as you’ve mentioned. This recognition is a key step in understanding how the ego operates and its impact on our lives. Buddhism teaches us to observe the ego non-judgmentally, understand its transient nature, and not identify with it as our true self. This helps in reducing suffering and achieving a clearer state of mind. If you have any insights or questions about managing or observing the ego as it arises, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s explore how we can better understand and work with our ego to find inner peace!
I don’t think this is the Buddha Dharma (the teaching of the Buddha). This is Vedanta (Hinduism). The Buddha explicitly differed with the Vedic/Hindu teachers on a number of these points, specifically the existence of an unblemished consciousness - the Atman. He taught Anatman, meaning No-Atman. According to the Buddha, even consciousness itself does not exist in an ultimate sense, but is impermanent and insubstantial. Emptiness is not pure consciousness. Consciousness is also empty of true existence, the same as the Ego. Thus, he does not distinguish Consciousness and Ego. They are part and parcel of the same illusion.
@ he did teach that. He did not talk about the Ego-Self at all - I was just borrowing that concept from Advaita Vedanta for the purposes of this conversation. He taught that each of the Five Aggregates is impermanent and dependently originated. The fifth of the Five Aggregates is Vinnana, meaning consciousness or awareness. He taught that this is impermanent, and arises and passes away based on conditions. He taught that there is no permanent consciousness. No Atman. Some later schools of Buddhism shifted back to a more Consciousness Only perspective. But in the Pali Canon, the Buddha clearly teaches that consciousness itself has no solid permanent existence.
