I couldn't believe my ears when I heard you say Tildesley when you found the bicycle handle bars. My father was born there in 1916 and came to Canada when he was about 7 or 8 yrs old. He went back to England to serve in the second world war. He died back in 1990 but left me with a love for England and some day I would love to visit. Thanks for showing me a little piece of his hometown. I recently found this channel and love it...a new subscriber here ...cheers from Ontario, Canada
Hi, I'm from Canada too!! Born in Montreal left when I was 12 1/2 to move to Calgary live there for 12 1/2 and now I'm outside of Vancouver BC and we've been here since 1987 so that makes it 37 years ago. my dad was born in Glasgow and was on the ships with the navy and his family moved to Montreal in 1949. He married my mum and 53 and she was born in Montreal but her family was from Edinburgh. And ever since my dad's death in 2012 the urge to go over and visit the UK is so strong. I know I probably will never get there, but I take as much as I can of it, such as finding these wonderful people that put out videos for us to watch like these ones. I hope one day you will see it and have one heck of a good time!!☺️
@@SnowPink90 Nice to hear from you...I probably won't get to England either but it's nice to think about it ! For some reason the older I get the more connected I feel. Take care. Wanda
So tomorrow (Mon, May 31) is Memorial Day here in the US -- very much like your Remembrance Day in the UK -- and it stirred my heart to see the WWII British planes in the fly-by -- there is so much that we owe to the brave men and women who have served our countries all these years, and things like our yearly holidays, and like these fly-bys -- are great reminders! Cheers!!!

Si that's a bit naughty!!! now we've got a whole week to wait 🤔 I can't comprehend what it must feel like to hold a mammoth's tooth, crikey, all those years old, brilliant find.
Thank you for taking the time to appreciate the aircraft flying in formation. As an Air Force Veteran, seeing them is one of my favorite things to watch. 💕
Loved the tooth but loved the spitfire and hurricane better! Before covid we would have an airshow here at our local airport and they would fly in a Lancaster Bomber from Hamilton, our home was on the direct flight path. You could hear this thing miles away b4 seeing it. I cannot imagine the sight and sound of those going on a mission from England to Europe in the war. I get goosebumps when I hear that bird flying over the house! Just the history. The house would vibrate as it passed by. They would fly it quite low to the houses getting ready to land not too far beyond the houses!
I am always happy to get home from work on Sunday's and have a video from you waiting. Loved your "baby" tooth, the fly by and your other finds. miss round up, will await for it next week. Cheers Si.
Si, when you mudlark and find those giant sherds of roman pottery, where exactly in the thames estuary is that? I plan to go with a someone with the British hovercraft company if possible. How exactly do you get people from the company? and how do I rent a hovercraft from them instead of buying one? Thank you for your videos, they are loads of fun to watch, keep it up. 👍
I found one myself years ago, it was preserved in calcite and an actual tooth not a fossil, the grinding or abrasive area that's used is the surface with the figure 8 pattern, nice fined gents, mine was stolen from me about 15years ago , I found it when I was 10 years old While exploring a sinkhole in south Dakota in the us , there was a tusk there as well but it was well over 10 feet long
Hi Si, Hi Jules, great find on the tooth. Planes fly by great for our Memorial Day here in U.S. 🇺🇸 today. Our men and women who served and gave their life for their country. Thank you for all serving now in the military. 🇺🇸. Thanks Si, till next time. Joyce. ARROW *🎱. ❤️
Lovely to see my old friend Wooly on your channel! If you are ever curious where to visit him, you can find him at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria, BC Canada. I think those spitfires went past my house last Sunday. I saw them from my kitchen window here in West Sussex. I tracked them on flight tracker app they went along the coast to Brighton then towards London. 🛩️🛩️🛩️
Not just one handsome devil, but two. Oh my! Excellent video Simon. From the mammoth tooth, to the WWII prop planes in formation, this one had it all and a beautiful day to boot. If it were me, I couldn't help myself taking everything I found. My foray to the foreshore would surely require a wheel barrow. Looking forward to the next, as always.
